Although the cataract surgery was fine, the advice and follow up was poor. Before surgery he should explain in detail the real effects of each type of lens, i.e. "reading" one or "distance". My choice would have been different. Secondly, he apparently is not very knowledgeable about "Floaters and Flashers". Something he should have explained without sending me to two other retina specialists...maybe he gets a commission by doing so? The American Academy of Ophthalmology publishes a brochure on the topic. My new eye doctor gave it to me. I cannot recommend Thompson and his referrals.

The atmosphere of the office is peaceful when I walked in. I was greeted with smiling faces at the front desk. The technician who helped me was very knowledgeable and friendly and listened to my concerns. Dr. Thompson made me feel at ease with proceeding with cataract surgery and I am thankful I chose this office. I had my cataract surgery done in West Ashley. There were not any surprises when it came to my health insurance and out of pocket cost. My eye sight after surgery is stellar. Everything is more clear and brighter. I am able to drive at night again. Most importantly I did not feel like a number when having this surgery done. Dr. Thompson went above and beyond all my expectations for my eye health needs.

Dr Thompson was amazing. He took the time to understand me and explain all my eye problems. His staff was amazing.

Dr. Thompson did my cataract surgery and I have been extremely pleased with the results so far. My second surgery had to be rescheduled due to extenuating circumstances. Megan was great with getting the surgery scheduled again quickly, and worked hard to meet the demands of this old man. I am thankful for such a great doctor, and his right hand ladies like Jade and Megan, who made having cataract surgery a breeze! Thank you again.

Dr. Thompson's office runs like a well-oiled machine. Waiting times are minimal, and the staff is courteous and competent. Dr Thompson is confident and optimistic,then delivers what he promises. The online clinic notes are an added plus.
