I went to this Doctor despite the negative reviews. Well, that was a mistake. This office was not a good experience. I was a transfer patient for a few months while my Dr was out. I am happily no longer a patient. They canceled on me twice within a month's time, no phone call, nothing, just my lost time and wasted gas. A few weeks later, I call in to the office and explain I'm not feeling well and need to reschedule (first time I requested to reschedule btw). I'm then told I'll be charged $50. This is the first Dr's office that I've ever experienced this kind of "policy". I mention the hypocrisy and my concern over exposing my sickness to others and the receptionist hangs up on me. Completely unprofessional. Clearly respect for someone's time is a one way street at this office. Another concerning issue, the Dr. attempted to change EVERY prescription I was on. Idk if she gets kick backs from specific prescribers but it was alarming how offended and visibly irritated she got when I wasn't on board with her recommendations. She was so upset she started tapping her nails on her laptop, and huffing and puffing. During my last visit the Dr. wanted me to switch another one of my medications, I agreed to it at first but once she exposed her lack of emotional control when we were discussing the reschedule issue, I declined. Then she tells me how much this new medication SHE recommended costs HER. That's when it became apparent to me this Dr. only cares about money. No regard if my body doesn't respond well to the new medication so by that point I was not comfortable switching my medication and becoming reliant on her to help me if my body didn't respond well to it. Before these events, I referred a friend to her office and she requested a $75 to $100 cash payment. The amount varied depending upon who I asked in the office but it definitely correlates with the other reviews mentioning her odd requests for cash payment. I noticed she also throws other Dr's under the bus by speaking ill of them. So ultimately by the end of my last visit and my decline over the new medication, she advised I find a new Dr. As I'm walking out, they must not have realized I was still in the office because I then hear the Dr and staff backbiting me. Sadly my impression is that her pocket book comes before anything else when the primary concern should be the patient's health. I went to this Doctor despite the negative reviews. Dr Chicks and her staff are amazing. She is caring, realistic and listens to what you have to say and actually cares about her patients! I'm so glad I found her! Truly great doctors office!

Terrible, overprescribing doctor. Once you get sober she gets you hooked on something else to make more money.

Dr. Chicks saved my life. I read all these bad reviews but truth be told if your serious about getting help the barriers to entry are minor and are in place as a deterrent for people who are not serious. Everyone is different and treatment can very from person to person and she understands that.

Dr chicks has issues and illegally charges an entrance non-refundable 200 dollar cash fee before your first appointment. To make your appointment you have too drive to her office with cash in hand. That's 100% insurance fraud on her part up front. Upon actually meeting her I agree with the ego and the inappropriate dress code comments. I also agree that condescending to patients and lying about other care providers she has spoken with can end you in the first time I've experienced a doctor asking why im concerned during a pandemic with a chronic illness I stopped seeing this woman after three months. Don't waste time or money on a narcissist dressed in a lab coat minus her credentials. Charging extra due to you're own home foreclosure is not a legal way to practice medicine this "doctor" is a waste of resources don't waste yours. Dr. Chick's is a life saver. She was amazingly helpful through our care and after. She gave personable care and coupled with insurance she made it extremely affordable which, is a huge plus in these dire situations. When not knowing what step to take next, she gave me great comfort which, other doctors could not. She specializes in the administration of sublocade and SE WI is so fortunate to have her. I’ve been seeing Dr Julie Chicks for outpatient treatment due to a heroin addiction. I’m proud to say that I’ll be 5 years sober as of January 21st. I have to say that she’s probably one of the best doctors that’s ever helped me throughout my struggles with drugs. I struggled with addiction for about 10 years and I’ve seen doctors throughout my time and they never gave me the time and day to really sit down with me to help me understand “the root of my addiction”. I never had a Dr who believed in me and have faith in me that I can improve my life soberly. She’s helped me gain my confidence back within myself and find my purpose in life. I recommend you see Dr chicks if you’re very serious about getting help for your addiction and you have to learn to be honest with yourself and her as well that’s the only way that it will work. Thank you Dr Chicks and staff for giving me a 2nd. Chance at life!

Terrible doctor who pushes prescriptions for drugs she has no understanding of.

Only cares about money! Has no experience with PTSD and provides you with options that are out of your budget, therefore makes you wonder who and what gave her a degree!! I suggest getting a second and even third opinion if possible!!

I will 1st disclose that Dr Chicks saved my life almost 10 years ago. I will also mention the several breakdowns Ive had over the years, where she has ALWAYS taken time to figure out what regimen changes were needed, regardless how far past our allotted appt time it took. See, where I work, the Drs act put out to spend 5 whole mins face to face with a patient. Not Dr Chicks, shes just different from the majority of todays clinicians. I will also talk about the time I had a very strange medical condition occur right as I was sitting in her office, and while she couldve said, "Youll have to see your GP for that," she did not. Instead, she helped me for over a month, working through this incredibly painful, bizarre condition when she most certainly didnt have to. I believe she did it because thats just who she is; she truly cares more about the patient than the $. She is the best in the area. I’ve tried other places and never got any progress. She is incredibly knowledgeable about medications, other resources, current laws, 12 steps, all areas of health. When I struggled in the beginning she didn’t kick me out...she educated me, helped me get resources, worked with my parents. 2019 was, by far, my best year in a very long time, and I know she was a big part of that. Abby is great and always super helpful. It’s nice i can text the office and not have to spend my lunch hour on hold, etc. It’s always a pleasure to see Harvey, the dog. Dr. Chicks never criticized or looked down at me, she just worked towards a solution. She is a really valuable commodity to the community and we need more of her around. Horrible, HORRIBLE doctor. Overprescribes addictive prescriptions that she seems to know nothing about. You shouldn’t have to have repeated seizures because a doctor can’t monitor what she’s prescribing to her patients! Find a medical professional who knows what they’re doing, because this one is clueless.

This doctor hands out pills like candy. Addictive drugs, to people that she treated for prior drug addictions in the past. Now he has new drug addiction problems because of her over prescribing. Stay away from this doctor at all costs!

Dr. Chicks was a very disappointing provider. When beginning treatment for my daughter, she prescribed beginning dosage, that my daughter had to be hospitalized for. We later found that this had happened to other patient of hers. I had tried contacting her several times, to no avail. Wouldn't even have the courtesy of responding at all. When someone is in the control of an addiction, EVERY member that supports their journey should be called on. The patient's life literally depends on every effort to help in their recovery. My daughter allowed information, but Chicks made it abundantly clear, she was not a part of the team, nor a decent or competent provider.

This is a provider I will never return to. I went to Dr. Chicks as a new patient looking for a new primary care provider and left feeling like I had wasted my time seeing her. I am completely unsatisfied with her as a professional and will not be going back. If I could give a zero-star rating I would.

I have been a regular patient for serveral years. Dr Chicks has always had my interest at heart, friendly nurses. She's helped me quit smoking and been a part time counselor, way beyond what she has to do. Highly recommend All of the complaints about an initial fee are just silly. They're dealing with a government system that only allows so many people in the program and getting into tyke program costs money. She's not going to pay for you. Maybe a free clinic that lives on taxes and donations doesn't mind but you would do the same. I am a breast cancer survivor and was pregnant during treatment with 19 surgeries, at the end I felt lost, defeated, and was addicted to the meds that are supposed to be a help, My son survived the cancer and so did i, but a whole new battle had begun. If it weren't for the strong, patient, and absolute GENIUS Dr. Chicks and her partner Abby who is also always there to listen as my voice of comfort without judgment, I may not have made it. Dr. Julie gives caring advice on every subject, even helps me with advice on my son and family. I am completely dissatisfied with the appointment I had with Dr. Chicks for my annual wellness exam. I will not be returning.

I saw Julie chicks for a year and thought she was a good doctor. She was always nice, polite and courteous. However, when I had medical files transferred from her to another office, the dr. Informed me that she hadn’t taken any notes after a year of seeing her. I came to find out from other doctors and patients that she has her own psych issues. She also overcharged billing wise and if you couldn’t pay will send you to collections real quick!

After my initial visit with Dr. Chicks I was very unsatisfied. She had asked me to write a review which I did. I later found out she misdiagnosed my health issue. I called for more help as I was in pain, and she sent me to a PT. The PT knew exactly what was wrong and had me up and walking out the door pain free! ONE year later I got the bill for Dr. Chicks. It was past the time I had met the deductible for that year. Their disorganization, and her inability cost me time and money. Don't GO!

Let's be honest, chicks is a suboxone clinic. But it's more then that. She cares, she gives everyone a chance. If you mess up you should expect to be discharged. If you want to get off meds she will help you. If she doesn't think your ready maybe you should listen. And you are the patient if you are seeing her clearly you messed up in the past and being clean staying clean is more on you then the doctor. Chicks is amazing point blank. My life is what it is because of her help.

Dr. Chicks was nice at first until the medication she put me on caused me to have 2 seizures which she did not even mention or care about or even ask about after n I had 2 appointments after.. Finally she yelled at me for not being able to look her in the eyes n talk clearly I said I have had issues with dr.s treating me poorly and I explained this when we first met and she said they should loose there liscenses for what they did to me.. Only to tell me to get over it now when it was less then a year ago and caused me to have a 4lb baby prematurely.. Then basically said 2 months later to get over my seizures that were still effecting me I had to miss apts because I was not allowed to drive due to them.. She accused me of altering my urine and I never did ever.. I then started to open up n listen I was switched to Vivance because she thought it would help since my adderal was not lasting I was hesitant n just thought time release would have been fine.. I finally said yes when she said if they do not work you can go back.. I never abused them I always had pill counts spot on for them.. Even with my trouble remembering.. Before my seizures I was great with my counts and school then everyeverything changed and her sympathy was not there the last apt I told them I was going on vacation n wouldn't make it to the next apt they never canceled it and dropped me.. She tried lookinh for a different dr for me simply because I feel she did not like me.. She was judgemental and mean I cried always at the appointments and thought she treated me worse than the other doctors who should have been fired.. I guess I just don't understand why she was so crewl I had no issues in the beginning and if she would've been supportive and helped then I think I could've been gotten the proper treatment.. I will be calling since they claim I owe 50$ for an appointment I told her I could not attend and I had a friend with that time thank goodness.. She may be right for others but people with extreme traumatic past experiences i wouldnt expect sympathy or understanding from her.. Julie Chicks is a wonderful Doctor. I believe it's a matter of fact that without her care, I may not be here today. Dr. Chicks correctly diagnose a problem I was having with my heart and assured I got the proper care. She also coordinated my care with several specialists and took all the extra time needed to make me feel safe and secure. I'm so very grateful to her, to Leah, and to Abigail for providing the best of care.

At this moment I have not met Dr. Chicks, but I know a few patients of hers. Which most seem happy. But right from the start I'm asked for a one time nonrefundable fee of $350...! After that, then they will bill the insurance...? Why can't it all go through insurance!? Who really has that kind of money to pay to get help for an addiction!? Most the addicts I know are broke! I had a great experiance with her years ago, however I just called to get a relative in and was told first visit would cost almost $700 just for the first visit, plus medication which I know would have been another $300. Great doctor if u have $1000 to spend. PS. she only requires a Cash payment of $400 plus charging ur insurance if your using INS, but NO WAY TO GET AWAY FROM THE $400 Charge! REDICIOULOUS. Amazing doctor for those serious about their life and getting on suboxone. Very professional and also personable.. Does not judge you but tells you how it is. Very happy I chose her and not another doctor. She has a lot of experience in addiction and suboxone and would HIGHLY recommend you chose her if you are trying to get on suboxone. She is not just an amazing doctor, she is an amazing person, which always goes far and beyond the standard health care services providing me with interesting and helpful information from well researched sources. Her advice helped me to get a job recently. She knows my whole family and she is always eager to help with the issues we have to deal with. I have been treated very poorly in other treatment programs. By doctors and nurses. Dr. Chicks is fantastic. So is her staff. She really helped me understand what is going on with me and addiction. My Family too. I haven't used opiates for 79 days! I've told my sister about her and hope she goes.

Dr.Julie Chicks has completely turned my life around and makes me look forward to getting up every day!! she sits and talks to me like I'm an important person and not a number ... she listens to my issues and doesn't just hurry me up to get to her next patient, but what really surprises me is how little money she makes treating me. I have state insurance and on a $300 bill the insurance pay her $46 but yet she treats me unbelievably well!! Dr. Chicks is simply amazing !! I thank God !!

Extremely rude and as mentioned above she's very into the money and insurance she's very two faced and conniving and egotistical. I have never ever had a physician pull the antics as she pulled.. she's very thin skinned and you rub her the wrong way just once she will release you. I could go on and on but she knows what she's doing wrong but she's too stubborn and an extreme compulsive liar ?? she will go to great lengths to through anyone under her bus. Dr. Chicks runs a suboxone program for opiate addicts. I joined the program 7 years ago. I never had any setbacks or relapses and yet 7 years later I was no closer to getting "clean" than I was before I started the program. She seemed more interested in the insurance money than truly helping a person get to a sober lifestyle

Dr. Chicks is an amazing doctor. She is extremely knowledgable on suboxone and switching from other opiates to suboxone. I have been a methadone patient and clean for over 5 years and was very nervous about switching and the length of time prior to the switch. She prescribed me medication that truly saved me from withdrawal and I was inducted with no issues. After that I visited her once a month and everything qas easy. If you take it seriously and truly want to be on suboxone She is the best

Mymom sees Dr. Chicks. She started 4 months before me and has done very well. I decided to see her too. It's been 9 months for me and more than a year for mom. Both of us are VERY happy with her. I have NEVER felt judged or belittled. Even when I stumbled a bit with using in the being. I could go on and on. I can only imagine patients who were not happy with her were simply not doing the right thing, and were just kying or faking.

I had quite an unfortunate experience with this clinic and doctor. I had high hopes and came in with the expectation I would be treated with kindness and fairness. Upon first impression, Dr. Chicks is a middle aged woman who enjoys wearing very short dresses, quite often so short you are able to see her underwear. I noticed with my initial meeting that she seemed to have a sarcastic, demeaning, attitude and quite an ego. I asked plenty of questions because it was a new program, and I wanted to make sure I had all my based covered. She acted put out, like she couldn't wait to leave, and was at one point standing at the door with her hand on the doorknob as I asked her my 3 or 4 questions. I was shocked by the unprofessional manner in which she presented herself. After the initial meeting I thought I may have just caught her on an off day, but each time I met with her it was the same thing. She was quite condescending, often saying things that were judgmental instead of understanding. She divulged something I asked to keep between us as part of Doctor/Patient confidentiality and wrote it off as her forgetting. She claimed I was not following treatment rules and even called me names at one point because the drug she had prescribed me was not detected in my urine, although no blood test was done and I had taken the prescribed drug 4 days earlier. I would imagine a Doctor would understand drugs only stay in your urine for a short period of time when they are only taken once or twice. She did not listen when I explained the drug she prescribed me didn't work, claiming she had never met someone it did not work for. Strange, when everyone's body and chemistry is different and nothing works the same for everyone. She could not accept this and continued on with her accusing me of not doing what I was supposed to. I really did try, and I did as I was told. From the start with Dr. Chicks she left a bad taste in my mouth, and it doesn't help that she charges an almost $400.00 non refundable fee that cannot be covered by insurance before being able to begin treatment with her. She is just a middle aged woman living in an extremely wealthy area of the state, charging people 400 dollars, and raking in as much money as she can wirh each patient who comes through the door. She has no compassion and especially no patience and I truly believe does not care for the well being of her patients, just earning a living. Please do yourself a favor and find yourself a doctor who actually cares and wants to work with you to get better and overcome whatever obstacle you may be facing. I found both Dr. Chicks and her staff warm and welcoming. Dr. Chicks listened to what I had to say, and didn't judge me. I did NOT feel rushed, and felt we would have a great professional working relationship. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a competent, friendly doctor.

I have been a regular patient of Dr. Julie Chicks since late 2007. My experience with Dr. Chicks has been wonderful. Dr. Chicks has always been professional yet approachable. Dr. Chicks makes sure I am up to date on all my vaccinations, and in my yearly physical exam, she is extremely thorough. She does not rush patients in and out; she spends time with me and listens to my issues. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Chicks, and I would recommend to my friends, family, and anyone else. I also want to add that her support staff, Holly and Leah, are equally excellent; they make blood draws, shots, scheduling, and anything else I need painless and easy. Dr. Chicks has been my doctor for many years now since 2008 I'm thankful to have found a Dr. That truly cares. She takes time and really listens to you. She is understanding yet tuff when she has to be. Also she has recommended specialist for problems I have had and all of the recommend Dr. I have kept. A wonderful doctor!! Dr. Chick's has helped me create the amazing and very blessed life that I live now. She listens when you talk..and actually cares about what you're saying. She is VERY knowledgeable about anything medical. If she doesn't know the answer right away, she finds it quickly. I have been a patient of hers for almost 10 years. She is without a doubt the BEST! She also has 2 very wonderful nurses, Leah & Holly. They all make an incredible team.
