Very thorough exam.

Always professional from beginning to end. Explains concerns and treatments as needed and proceeds answering any questions that may arise. Never feel rushed. Definitely recommend.

The worst bedside manner I've ever experienced. She walked into the room, didnt introduce herself and kept talking without looking at me, only at her paperwork. She would talk while walking out of the room and never made an effort at all to ask about what brought me in or what my goals are for treatment. The only time she would look up at me was when she wanted to judge me based on my preferences of medications or lack of blood work (apparently its my fault the doctors I saw in the past didn't order appropriate bloodwork?) Since it took over 3 months to get this appointment, I'm so genuinely sad and disappointed to have been treated so poorly and judged so strongly. Somewhat disappointed with my treatment. My 11:15 appointment turned out to be 11:45. Why?? No one else was in the waiting room. After my treatment, no one was around for me to make my next appointment and in fact no one was at the desk to say good-bye. I felt like I was an inconvenience. Appointment pretty well on time. All personnel were very efficient. I think I'll nickname her "Dr. Freeze".

She takes her time to listen to you and hear your concerns. Never rushes. She is the best
I will say first off, Dr. Thomas is a wonderful doctor. I have been seeing her for well over 15 years and while the other reviews about the office "issues" are entirely accurate, I have deemed her worthy of putting up with this issue; although it has been extremely frustrating at times. Dr. Thomas has treated me for a number of skin conditions, one which is particularly painful, at times debilitating, as well as horrifically embarrassing and she has never made me feel the least bit uncomfortable, as many have. A great doctor is great, but if you can't get in to see her, wait for extremely long periods due to the system of chart pulling (which has been an issue for many years) can't speak to her and basically can't get past the iron clad wall of unhelpful staff, I can see why others have decided to look elsewhere. I however, have learned to just accept that a great doc has obstacles and issues that aren't ALWAYS within their power to control. Let us remember that in the age of doctors having less and less autonomy and less control over all these things. That said..... Recently during the covid-19 outbreak where almost all doctor's visits were being conducted virtually or by phone, I have to admit that I was stunned by the way things were being handled. Having had the need to see Dr. Thomas very urgently for this condition that CANNOT wait, I'm truly disappointed in the inappropriate way my issue was handled. I have a condition that often requires immediate treatment and my prescription was expired and no longer working. I needed a refill and was told I'd have to see the doctor because it had been over a year since I'd seen her last. That's reasonable, so I proceeded to make an appt. I needed to see her asap due to the painful nature of the condition; it's not acne, a funky mole or psoriasis, it's not just an inconvenience, it's painful and often debilitating. However, when speaking with the nurse I was told that the office no longer accepts my insurance. Ok, I can deal with that, it happens. So I inquire about the cost to pay cash, as during the shutdown, there was no way I was going to find a new dermatologist, and I was DEFINITELY not going to get in to see anyone quickly enough to treat my very urgent condition. I was told that paying cash wouldn't be an option, a refill for my medication was not an option (Uh, come again???' How is good old fashioned real money NOT an option?) and that I'd have to find myself a new doctor and go completely untreated in the meantime. Wow... I'm truly bewildered. I'm 40yrs old and I've been going to Elmhurst clinic practically since birth. I've been a very longstanding patient of this physician and have basically been dumped off without second thought. I bit back the urge to bring up the concept of "Duty of Care." The AMA Journal of Ethics cites that "in general, abandonment occurs when the relationship between physician and patient is terminated either 1. at an unreasonable time or 2. without affording the patient time to find a qualified replacement." I think the covid-19 pandemic is the most unreasonable time this country has seen in a very, VERY long time. Abrupt termination of a longstanding doctor/patient relationship knowing full well that another physician offering APPROPRIATE treatment would not be able to be secured for many months, leaving me to simply suffer the painful effects of my condition and it's subsequent effects on my life isn't exactly allowing time to find a QUALIFIED replacement. As I said in the beginning, I REALLY love Dr. Thomas!!! This woman has truly been a Godsend to me at times in the face of this condition and how much it's restricted my quality of life at times. Very disappointed to lose this doc in this manner. I've dealt with this office for so long, I knew it was utterly futile to raise hell over basically being told "Sorry about your luck but we can't help you." The barrier between physician and patient is a big one in this department. I will say first off, Dr. Thomas is a wonderful doctor. I have been seeing her for well over 15 years and while the other reviews about the office "issues" are entirely accurate, I have deemed her worthy of putting up with this issue; … More
I was having severe acne and horribly painful eczema on my chin and cheeks. Wearing the face masks for 12 hour shifts everyday at work seemed to be aggravating it even more. I waited one month to get in with her also. She prescribed me 4 different topical medications and didn’t explain to me AT ALL what each one was for or how I should be applying it. The prescriptions were all kinda pricey too. She was very nice but complete lack of communication. I was having severe acne and horribly painful eczema on my chin and cheeks. Doctor Thomas does a great job. She is caring and thoughtful in how she treats me.
Dr. Thomas has been my Dermatologist for years. She is caring and through. I recommend her highly. wayneb1020@comcast.net
Dr. Thomas always takes enough time with me and answers all my questions. I never feel hurried with her. Wait time was short before I was called in.
I was very satisfied with Doctor Thomas she took care of my problem and I had no aftereffects in the following days.I am very pleased with the results.
From the moment I stepped into the Elmhurst facility, to my scheduled appointment, and making a new appointment just before going out the door it was a good experience. Dr. Thomas is thorough, attentive, professional and a credit to her field.
My problem was diagnosed at my visit. Medication prescribed. Within a month problem was gone. I had a skin rash that was itching and didn't seem to go away over time. Dr. Thomas is the best, she's understanding and so smart and kind.
I was highly pleased with my visit. She talks in words I understand, explains what she found and looks ways to prevent further problems. The RN who checked me in was personable and did an excellent history and medication review.
She's always calm cool and great! Takes her time and takes any concerns or issues I have seriously.
Dr. Thomas is a wonderful doctor. She’s very through and her manner is straightforward and open, but very pleasant.

Always good to see Dr. Thomas. She shows her care and professionalism every time I see her. With her watchful eye we will catch any skin cancer if any comes along.
Dr. Thomas looked at my skin and treated parts of my skin with great detail. She told to use my meds and I think my skin is getting better. I am very happy with Dr. Thomas.
What a hidden expert in her field , she has the right people to see if she can’t fix your condition.

These bad reviews are CRAZY! So far I've seen Dr. Thomas twice and I never had to wait more than 20 minutes. Dr. Thomas was friendly, caring and super helpful. To give her a one-star because you had to wait over 30 minutes (poor baby) is totally unfair and unjust since they have over 100 doctors. FYI...there waiting room is one of the nicest I've seen. Very sweet and great work. No scars
Horrible! She is rude, blunt, and not a good dr. period! Plz stay away and see many other drs that are prob more helpful in the area. Maybe she should do herself and others a favor and retire. If your in this field you definitely should be compassionate and helpful.

The waiting room here is basically purgatory.
Been waiting for over an hour... first and last time coming here.
After 45 minutes of waiting, I left. First time I ever did that, but when do you say when?
Agree with everything said. I walked out three years ago after waiting over an hour. Reluctantly went back recently only to wait for over an hour again. I don't know who is doing the booking, but the fact that nothing has changed over four years is inexcusable.
I was skeptical to make an appointment here given the reviews about long wait times and it turns out they were completely accurate. Only after an hour wait and 2 people being called before me did they finally remember to “pull my chart”. It wasn’t busy at 5 pm on a Monday, there is no excuse for this. The building is creepy, dirty, and dark. I felt like I was going into a horror movie, not a quality healthcare system. Honestly for the quality of the office management and building, save your money and potentially your life by driving to the next town over for a Northwestern healthcare system clinic. Not timely or helpful. Just left after waiting in her lobby for an hour and a half for my scheduled appointment & I Had to wait over a month to get that appointment. Once I finally got in to see her, the “exam” took less than 5 minutes and concluded with no diagnosis. She is not empathetic and the only value she added was a refill to my prescription. I have seen Dr Thomas for the past several years for a chronic derm condition. Appointments. have been made timely and I have never had more than a 15 minute waiting period. Dr. Thomas provides caring and personalized service. She continues to work with you to get the best possible treatment options.
I've seen Dr. Thomas for years and have always had a great experience in the office. She is very thorough and attentive. My skin issues were resolved and I will continue to see Dr. Thomas. While reading reviews I have not experienced a long wait or bad manners. I strongly recommend seeing Dr. Thomas as a Dermatologist.
I spent months getting bloodwork, biopsies & visits. My body is covered in spots. I have my own derm but my GI wanted me to see an Elmhurst derm. Very rude, kinda chuckled when she told me what was wrong and said it’s not serious & there’s no nothing she can do. Mentioned UV lights, reminded her I have skin cancer so she took that back. Few days later & the spots are darker than ever with new ones appearing daily. But according to her, leaking blood vessels is normal & I just have to deal.

AFTER WAITING 30 MINUTES IN THE OUTER OFFICE PAST MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME I WAS FINALLY TAKEN INTO THE EXAM ROOM WHERE MY INFO WAS TAKEN. THE NURSE SAID SHE STILL HAD A COUPLE OF PATIENTS AHEAD OF ME AND WILL BE A LITTLE WHILE. wow FINALLY MY TIME AND I THINK SHE SPENT A TOTAL OF ABOUT 5-7 MINUTES WITH ME AND GENERALLY DIDN'T SEEM ALL THAT INTERESTED IN ME AT ALL AND I WILL NOT SEE HER AGAIN AND WILL LOOK FURTHER FOR ONE THAT CARES

Sat in the office for 45min. while other patients that were registered after me were called. I finally asked what the delay was and was told that my chart was never pulled and given to the nurse. Meanwhile receptionists were discussing nutritional information on the chocolates they were eating. Apparently nutritional information is more important than customer service. Then I waited 15 min. In the patient exam room for the doctor. ..which under other circumstances I wouldn't mind. An hour wait for a 20min consultation! Why set appointments if you have to wait that long? Dr. Thomas is GREAT. However, the office is run horribly. You can't get an appointment if you're having an emergency with your skin, nor will a nurse or doctor call you. So, if you're having a reaction to something you got prescribed, you're on your own and have to try to see someone else who probably isn't a dermatologist. Also, if you try calling when they are supposed open, they'll probably tell you they're not open yet and to call back (example, they told me to call at 8am, I called at 8:10, was told to call back in 5 minutes). I really liked Dr. Thomas, but what's the point of having her as my dermatologist if I can never get in to see her or talk to her if I'm having a problem? Dr. Thomas is GREAT. Dr Thomas is an excellent Dr. She listens and is concerned with your whole well being. She truly cares about each and every patient she sees.
I went to Dr. Thomas with the concern that I was loosing pigmentation in my skin (vitiligo). I have Mediterranean/olive skin so it was really starting to show around my eye and a little on my groin (the two spots it first typically begins). I was concerned with the vitiligo spreading. First off, she has no bedside manner and was very blunt. Second she offered no treatment other than hope it doesn't spread. 6 months later I went to a different doc and its EVERYWHERE. Thanks for the help.
first experience with this dr and had to leave due my work. the dr was running 1 HOUR late which i have found out is routine. my time is important too and dr should schedule appts farther apart.
