I have never been so disrespected before in my life. I have been dealing with ear issues since August and I had to go through so much to get here only to be treated so horrible. Cutting me off not allowing me to explain anything. Told me we don't deal with pain management. That is not what I'm here either. I am trying to figure out what is going on with the inside of my ear. I can't even put into words everything that happened to me. Also, said things to me like "I can't be your primary doctor when an MRI HE MENTIONED was brought up, like obviously dude. Please just avoid this office so you don't leave crying like I did.

The worst!!!!!!! I ruptured my eardrum in February 2017 because of a bad ear infection and was referred Dr. Mak by my primary doctor after the rupture didn’t heal after 3 months. I saw him 3 times throughout the year of 2017 and at every visit, he would BARELY glance at my ear, ran NO tests, and he kept telling me that it would heal on it’s own. On his last day of employment before he left to work at Kaiser, I saw him for the last time and he claimed that my eardrum had HEALED. I INSISTED that he look again because I was 100% sure that is was NOT healed and he refused to double-check. He said (AGAIN) to just keep waiting for it to heal on it’s own. Now 1 year later I finally saw a different doctor (Dr Yates) and he was amazing! He ran a bunch of tests on my ears and believed everything I told him. He confirmed that my eardrum was not healed and we are already talking about surgical options for me to get it repaired. Thanks for wasting my time and not listening to me, Dr. Mak! This Dr is extremely rude and unprofessional. He not only talked down to me, treating me as if I was dumb while I had a concern about MERSA in my nose. He then didn’t even give me any advice or treatment and left me in the dark to research on my own. To top this off my insurance left an amount unpaid and without a warning or even a bill sent to me I’m now getting a call from a dept collector. Don’t go to this Dr he is rude and uncaring.

Told me I was lying about my throat bleeding. Horrible dr. Would NEVER suggest him to anyone. Do not see him. Wish I could give him 0 stars.

Poor attitude from the ENT Doctor. He makes you feel incompetent of knowledge. He has no consideration for others. His literally there just for that check. He could care less about his patients.

After reading two negative reviews I was worried. I thought Dr Mak was nice & funny. His Medical Assistant was so kind and even came in and stayed by my side while he did a very uncomfortable procedure of my throat. So the limited one time visit I had it was fine. Of course nobody is better than my primary Dr.

He was very good.

I've been a patient of Dr. Mak's for over ten years, and have always been pleased with his care.....and will continue to see him on a regular basis.

Dr. Mak was very friendly and he explained everything he was going to do and why he had to do it. I felt very confident in his care.

He is prompt for appointments Friendly and welcomes you to his office Performs a specific procedure on me and explains various tools and devices he will use Discusses results and provides visual evidence Fast, efficient and professional

I was referred to Dr. Mak because I had a TDC in my throat. I was a little nervous because I was seeing mixed reviews on here and I wasn't sure what type of experience I was going to have with this Doctor. I have to say that Dr. Mak exceeded my expectations. He was very knowledgeable about my problem and the surgery required to remove it. He listened to my concerns and put me at ease about all of it. He operated on me about a week ago and he did a fantastic job! P.S. Staff was great as well!

Very poor bedside manner! Treated me like a number! Also, denigrated me as if I was a dummy for researching my symptoms and offered possible suggestions. Who does that? I didn’t go to med school, but I’m college educated and I’d like to think I know my symptoms and other doctors online seem to concur on the symptoms I feel so why not suggest it? Answer: Doctors with GOD complexes and big egos! I presented with pulsatile tinnitus explaining to Dr. Mak that I hear beating and pounding that is rhythmic, loud and synchronous with my heartbeat causing me to have insomnia. He examined my ears, nose and throat. He said I would need to have an MRI of Brain Stem w/o and with contrast. I mentioned that my PCP already recommended this procedure and it was approved and scheduled. When I asked politely if the procedure could be done without contrast alone as I was concerned about having an allergic reaction, he immediately raised his voice shouting, "You don’t understand. It has to be done with and without contrast." When asking if the pulsatile tinnitus was objective or subjective, he seemed annoyed and reluctantly went to get a stethoscope. After placing the stethoscope bell on my neck, he said, "I hear a heartbeat, you have subjective tinnitus." He also mentioned that pulsatile tinnitus is incurable which I already knew was incorrect. He did not offer me any remedies that might alleviate my discomfort and insomnia. Dr. Mak is inclined to be condescending, dismissive and unprofessional in his manner, therefore, I would not recommend him . Look for an ENT specialist who reveals his findings without hesitation, suggests the appropriate imaging needed and discusses outcomes that might lead to a cure. Very poor bedside manner!
