Dr. Purnell has done both of my knees and did an awesome job. I was back in the saddle and out hiking within 12 weeks. I highly recommend him!

Terrible service no communication whatsoever I waited an hour before I was actually called before my appointment time my appointment time was 1045 I did not get called in till 1145 and after that I was I wasn’t even good service, The reception lady was not attentive to my care she had a terrible bedside manner. I was highlighted to be checked in and after the fact that she highlighted me I was still not able to speak to the doctor and multiple people were called in before me after the fact that I was highlighted to be First. I cried because of how upset I was that when event occurred I was brought into room and a medical assistant in insisted and helping me with my care but by that time my blood sugar was low and I declined her help because I already had candy to suffice why my blood sugar was low and I don’t think that is right because I was waiting for an hour and a half before I could be assisted and called in to my appointment and I’m diabetic. I would rate the service as a four they were helpful and quick. My appointment was at 1:45pm and I was out by 2:15. They did X-rays on my knees and PA evaluation was correct very understanding. I was pleased with my first visit.

Office staff very unprofessional!!!

I would give zero stars if it was an option. The worst customer service I've ever experienced at any doctors office ever. I waited two hours to be seen by someone who wasn't the Dr. . Even when trying to schedule the follow-up appointment none of the ladies in the office would get up and come and make the appointment and the one who did had a horrible attitude. Very disappointed. Office is in disarray. Never get back to patients promptly. Some poor practices of medicine that is not current or best for clients well-being.

I tore my ACL and dr Purnell did a great job and fixed my knee.

Dr.purnell was matter of fact and very understanding of what I’ve been through with my medical situation. I appreciated this very much....

I had a total knee replacement and later a total shoulder replacement. Both surgeries went very well and I no longer have the extreme pain I used to have or any pain in those two joints and I can move them the way I need to. Dr.Purnell really cares about his patient’s pain. Everything was done efficiently and I have no problems with any staff. I have had other surgeries in other offices and the two surgeries with Dr. Purnell were my easiest experiences. I did recommended other family members.

Excellent Doctor was very professional and made my knee surgery and healing process perfect and easy was exactly how he said it would be. Thank you Doc

It’s not often I’m compelled to write a review, but this is one of those rare circumstances. As a new patient, Purnell’s office was prompt and courteous. I was able to get an appointment, but only after making several follow-up calls. They were on time (by their standards apparently) for my first visit. I enjoyed my visit with Purnell, found him to be thorough, and was pleased with the proposed course of treatment. That treatment required 3 subsequent visits, over a 3 week period, all scheduled ahead of time. For each of those 3 visits thereafter, his PA was running 60 mins late, and that was just to get into a room, where often times I wait another 20-40 mins. I tolerated it, because I had heard good things about Purnell as a physician. Following those 3 visits, I was advised to wait 6 weeks to see if further treatment might be needed. Fast forward 6 weeks (just 2 weeks ago), I injured (or re-injured) the same knee I was having treated. I called the day after, and was told the soonest they could get me back in was 2 weeks later. I attended that appointment today, and was told they were again 40 mins behind. That turned into a 90 mins in their waiting room before being seated, along with many other patients. I asked for my co-pay back, and walked out. Not one person on his staff tried to talk me out of leaving, nor apologized for their apparent chronic inefficiencies. As a consumer, I cannot recommend Purnell’s office. No business is immune from poor customer service, physicians included, it just takes longer to catch up to some than others. I injured my right rotator cuff eleven years earlier. I had learned to live with the fact that I could not throw a ball or lift anything above my shoulder without pain. As I aged, the injury developed arthritis/bone spurs. I was referred to Dr. Purnell. Dr. Purnell fixed my shoulder...! The day after surgery, I had full function of my shoulder/arm without any pain or any need for pain medication. Two months later, I broke my right clavicle. My clavicle had shards and was described as a “jig-saw puzzle.” Dr. Purnell returned from his vacation and repaired my Clavicle. A week after surgery, the pain had subsided enough to not require any pain medication. I found that Dr. Purnell is an amazing doctor and I wish I would have had my rotator cuff fixed years earlier. Dr. Purnell took very good care of my 5 year old daughter with a tricky break near her shoulder. Previous doctor was going to allow it to heal with 100% fracture and 30% offset. He did such a good job that she is now 11 and an excellent pitcher plsying fast pitch softball.

We were referred to Dr. Purnell by my daughter's pediatrician after she was poked in the ankle by a stick. We were only ever able to see the PA and he was very insistent that she just had a sprained ankle and it had nothing to do with the poke or any infection. I told him that I was certain that it had been infected and suspected that there was something in there still. He prescribed a boot for 3 weeks and said it would be better. I called the office a week later to request an MRI and never got a call back and there was no record of my call. When we did go back, with no improvement at all, I requested the MRI again. He told me that it "really wasn't warranted, but he would request it since I was insistent". I took her to a different Ortho who ordered an MRI right away and this time found the foreign object on the MRI. It was very hard to find, but today she had surgery and they found a 1 1/2 centimeter piece of the stick in her ankle. Needless to say 1) You never see this Doctor, only his Physicians Assistant 2) The PA's diagnosis was 100% wrong and his bedside manner was ridiculously horrible. Skip this stop and ask for another referral. We were referred to Dr. Purnell by my daughter's pediatrician after she was poked in the ankle by a stick. I had two acl reconstructions with dr purnell the operation went great and i have experienced no problems since the procedures i had no problems with the office everyone there was extremely professional and dr purnell really cares about the needs of the individual patient
