Went expecting a surgical outcome and Dr. Unger advised against it and explained why. Discussed and agreed on a treatment plan. He gives objective advice (even when it doesn't benefit him at all), listens and asks the right questions (from my experience working in the medical field myself). Just to have a surgeon that cares to hear you out and ask about your specific goals is amazing. Was caring and empathetic throughout the visit. Challenged and possibly changed preconceived notions on weight loss surgery. Would recommend my own mother to this physician any day. While surgery is never pleasant, Dr. Unger made mine as easy as it could be. He was very thorough at my appointment before surgery and explained everything. He also took time before surgery to answer questions and provided excellent care after I had a bad reaction to anesthesia. At the follow up appointment, he was so nice and showed genuine concern. It's clear that he is extremely busy but he never made me feel rushed. I would recommend him to anyone.
