Dr. Magda Melchert is a Hematologist as well as a Oncologist. I have a history of DVTs & PEs even while taking Coumadin. Doctors at Brandon Regional Hospital implanted an IVC filter in me without consulting with her first. Dr. Melchert was not happy about the IVC filter in my chest. Dr. Melchert ordered the IVC filter removed and put me on Xarelto. Many years later I have been clot free. Dr. Melchert is a terrific doctor who takes her time with her patients and listens to their concerns. She was really intrigued by my case because blood tests didn’t really explain why my blood was more prone to clots. However, Dr. Melchert said it was better to be safe than sorry and told me I should be on Xarelto the rest of my life. She had doubts about the efficacy of IVC filters and thought they could maybe do more harm than good. You are in good hands if Dr. Melchert is treating you. U helped my father in law beat cancer two times. U r now his son's dr, ( my husband ), Dan Michaud. I am very unfamiliar about cancer. My husband has gotten in the HILUCINATING stage. He no longer wants 2 c or b with me. They say the one with this disease is who sufferers the most. True fact, BUT WHAT ABOUT ME ?? BEEN BESIDE HIM FOR 13 YRS, SICKNESS AND N HEALTH, BETTER OR FOR WORSE, TILL DEATH DO US PART, . We r supposed 2 support 1 another, not have time slipping away. I NEED HELP.

She is one of the worst doctor I've even come across. I found out I have a Dtv in my arm and I was put on Xarelto despite the lawsuits I now see daily on tv, I got so sick on it I had to go to the hospital then she gave me coumadin which was fine for about 2 weeks then I started getting very sick, I went back to this lady and she's going to tell me that she have 400 patients on coumadin and she's never heard of side effects, WHAT??!! Well I did my own research and found out that all the symptoms I had was life threatening side effects of coumadin so I print them and went back but this lady was so annoyed with me that she did NOT even come fully in the room, I brought a list of questions to ask because I thought that's what a patient suppose to do (ask questions) but after about 2 mins of going off how much patients she have on coumadin with no side effects, she was half way through the door so most of my questions left unanswered. I've got news for you lady I ended up going to st Joseph hospital in riverview fl and my liver (ast and alt) was through the roof, I had to get an adominal ultrasound and monitoring blood work to watch my liver levels (which is ast and alt levels) . Because you did NOT sit and listen and pay attention to my symptoms I could have ended up with liver disease from the medication you claim your 400 patients is on with no side effect. You need to know that everyone is different and everyone body reacts to medication differently so stop comparing one patients to another when it comes to how the body reacts with treatment. Dr. Melchert has been my Oncologist for 8 years. She is very detailed and honest about what will work best for me. She has never made me feel rushed and has always taken the time to answer any questions that I might have.

Be your own advocate!!! Ask questions,get copy of all your records!! I was not happy with her.

I almost ended up with liver disease from the medication she gave me because she claim to have 400 patients on coumadin with no side effects well I ended up in the hospital and the coumadin almost reck my liver. I was so sick, you need some listening skills. She was half way through the door while I'm still asking questions and she wasn't even in the room for 5 minutes. Now I'm on monitoring blood work for my ast and alt levels. Everyone's body reacts different to meds if you didn't know smh

Dr. Melchert takes her time with you and doesn't make you feel like she's rushed. She is patient and answers all your questions. She has been treating me for Lymphoma for 4 years and I will continue with her.
