I had surgery with Dr. Bowers in November of 2022, and everything went as I expected according to the information on her website. Clinic staff was courteous and helpful, and the results of surgery were as desired.

It has been just over three months since Dr Bowers performed a GAV and tracheal shave. I've been thrilled with the results since the day the bandages came off. I guess I didn't expect the everything to be so perfect. At 61, the simple dignity of being able to use a public rest room without fear of being out of place was my goal, and I am grateful to Dr Bowers for making it a reality. The perfection of it all is just icing on the cake. My thanks to Dr Bowers and her staff for their support and understanding through the past few months.

I had the privilege of doing my gender affirming vaginoplasty (and trach shave) with Dr. Bowers on 12/8/21 (I’m in my mid-30s). It’s been 6 weeks since surgery, and I am very happy. I was pleasantly surprised at how minimal the pain was post-op. Dr. Bowers is incredibly kindhearted, she really knows her stuff, and is very easy to speak with. I really feel as though she cares for her patients and enjoys knowing how much hope and happiness she brings to folks. Her staff (Beth, Monica, Janet) are so wonderful, super easy to get in touch with, and really made the whole experience quite simple and enjoyable. It’s already hard for me to remember what things were like pre-op ‘down there’, and I honestly feel like my whole surgery and recovery thus far has been such a breeze. It’s so amazing to feel more at home and at peace with my physical body. I am so thankful for Dr Bowers and her entire office for getting me in and helping me make such amazing progress on my transition goals.

It's three months after my GAV with Dr. Bowers, and I'm still euphoric. I love the way my V looks, and I can easily orgasm and do often. The orgasms are incredible; they are beyond my wildest expectations. I adore Dr. Bowers. I love her communication style and accessibility. I live near Dr. Bowers' office, and we actually crossed paths at a local grocery after my surgery. We got into an extended conversation about my healing, and she urged me to make an appointment for quick check up, which I did. I know this is unrealistic for her out-of-state patients, but I just wanted to share this because I think it shows Dr. Bowers is down-to-earth and incredibly caring. The office staff is incredible as well. I had an immediate response every time I emailed Beth-Elle, Monica, Jules and others and they were extremely helpful on the telephone. I feel immense gratitude and I recognize how privileged I am that Dr. Bowers performed my surgery. I'm free and home at last.

Dr. Bowers helped me achieve a freedom I had been longing for all my life. The surgery went well and she was there to help me with my emotions, too. The results are beautiful and feel awesome. I am a whole woman; a woman, whole, at last.

I have been a patient repeatedly for over 15 years at different hospitals/clinics, but I have never encountered such an amazing, caring and supporting medical team as Dr. Marci Bowers’ team. They are the Dream Team. They even gave me a phone number where I can reach them 24/7 after working hours. Once, I ran out of pain maids after being discharged from the hospital while staying at a hotel; it was late at night, and her assistant made sure my prescription was available at the nearest pharmacy on the same night. Even when it comes to letters, they are fast on their feed to show their support. They never made me wait for more than it needs to be. They were always there supporting and caring about me before and after my surgery. I was never nervous or worried before or after surgery; I was happy and at peace. The reason being is that I trusted Dr. Bowers and her team 100% for the life-changing surgery that I profoundly needed and wanted. I'm very lucky to have meet such a caring team

I've had an incredible experience, everything went more easily than I thought it would, and I've had all the support I needed. I cannot find words to express how happy I am and how satisfied I am with the entire process. I highly recommend Dr. Bowers and her incredible staff.

Dr. Bower's is fabulous! I felt listened to, taken care of, and guided through everything. She's a wonderful, caring, and attentive surgeon. Shout out to Erika, who took care of me on my follow-up visit. She's just great, very gentle, and was a good dilation teacher. I visited Dr Bowers for GAV surgery and could not be happier with my decision in life, DR, and results thus far! I'm still early in recovery but can't imagine anything changing for the negative at this stage. Absolutely exceptional surgeon, and equally exceptional staff. They were with me every step of the way from start to end of the surgery planning logistics, and personal needs. After surgery, recovery assistance from the hospital and staff was very good, and Dr Bowers's Staff made sure I was handled with care which greatly eased my anxieties. It's a blessing to know that a person like Dr Bowers exists, and does the work she does for women everywhere to help them live their lives to the fullest. If you are considering SRS or any other procedure with Dr Bowers, its 100% worth any wait you might have to see her. If I could give more stars, I would.

Thanks to Dr. Marci Bowers for making my surgery a smooth, anxiety-free experience. I found Dr. Bowers and her staff to be skillful, professional, compassionate, and reassuring. Robin Lassiter did an excellent job of facilitating the insurance rigmarole, and Erika Thys was stellar with dilation instruction.

I knew surgery and recovery would be difficult, but I still underestimated it. Despite this, Dr. Bowers and her staff did an amazing job walking me through it and getting back to me when I was concerned with something or needed immediate help. As far as a healthcare response team goes, Dr. Bowers' has been among those I trust most.

All these latest positive reviews seem more like a pr campaign than a real thing. Fact is Marci Bowers leaves girls less sensate down there. It doesn't matter how "cute" your vagina looks, if you won't be interested in sex or feels like a chore. And it is not a hormonal thing, it is a functional issue due to her carelessness. There are other doctors out there that are careful enough to preserve this basic function. This one apparently doesn't, and if there is a problem with her surgery, you will be left all alone to deal with the consequences. Choose wisely!

Dr. Bowers is worth the wait, absolutely stunning results and the staff at Mills Peninsula were top notch.

Dr. Bowers kept me informed as to the details of my medical procedures, reassured me at every turn, and visited me in the hospital to make sure I was healing well. Great experience, and, while I hope to never have to have surgery with her again, I would (and do) absolutely recommend her to others.

The surgery that change my life and i was looking forward since i was born and i taught the dream was never going to happen I felt like it was to far away but every day i would pray that my dreams since i was 5 years old because every morning before waking up for school this little girl that would pop on a cloud and i wanted to be her and time went by & discovered that girl was me .Besides her staff the hospital staff from Mills-Peninsula Medical Center were very helpful as well. She was kind, compassionate, an expert surgeon yet also a talented artist. In short, everything I had always heard about her. I received expert care and her office staff was always available and helpful. I am so pleased with my GAV six months out!

I had vaginoplasty with Dr. Bowers, and I feel like she did a great job! I am only 6 weeks post op, but I am very happy thus far with the results. Out of the 7 different surgeons that I met with in the Bay Area, Dr. Bowers had the most experience. She was also the only surgeon who offered to give me her personal cell phone number. I would definitely recommend her!

My visit was to get the GAV operation done in late 2020, visiting from out of state. Starting off, Dr. Bowers' team is simply amazing. There's a wealth of information available on their website and packets/handouts. They were always kind and professional when I interacted with them, and prompt at replies via email. The clinic is clean and has a good modern aesthetic, with lovely art in the patient rooms. I always felt comfortable and things were well-explained. Everything went pretty much as planned, and I'm extremely happy with the results.

I had GAV with Dr. Bowers on June 17, 2020. It is currently July 29, 2020. I have some sensation, but not a lot. I have not felt arousal at all at this point. The vagina looks aesthetically alright (not wonderful, but not horrible). I have little experience with what vaginas are supposed to look like, and therefore don't have a whole lot to base the aesthetics on. I will attempt to achieve sexual arousal once it gets closer to 3 months post-op. In conclusion, I am not appalled, nor thrilled with Dr. Bowers' work.

At the risk of dramatics, let me say: STAY FAR AWAY. While Dr. Bowers has her kind moments, often she is temperamental, obscene & allows her ego to supersede good judgment. Simply, I’ve been severely debilitated, experienced the worst pain & depression of my life & have had 4 additional procedures in the last year since because of complications—looking now at a potential 5th. She is rarely in her office—instead at conferences, on vacations, at media appearances, etc.—meaning there are huge lapses in care. As others have said, once she’s worked on you, you’re very much on your own. For instance, she wasn’t even there for the post-operative unpacking and dilation instructions, rather performed by her office assistant, who, by my own research, has no medical degree. I’m not sure the legality of this but ethically seems questionable. There are many other surgeons out there—some even in SF—so please do your research and find someone else to help bring you harmony between mind and body.

Labiaplasty Bowers did surgery to fix her GRS she performed on me, a stitch came loose on the way home from the hospital, it became infected, and took my gynecologist 3 weeks to help it to heal.

Marci Bowers substituted a totally different procedure during surgery than the one I paid for. It was a disaster from the start to finish, and I recieved no refund either. Another Dr. has performed 2 corrective surgeries thus-far, but probably can npot correct the entire damage to my nerve caused by Marci Bowers. I wish I had never gone to her. Stay as far away from her as possible.

I made arrangements for surgical removal of my vagina known as a "vaginectomy" with Marci Bowers. After surgery, Bowers said there was no vagina there to remove. New MD-surgeon found my vagina intact where one would expect it to be, and removed it. Do not go to her.

I had what was supposed to be merely a cosmetic revision with her and I absolutely HATE what she did to me. While the vagina looks aesthetically ok, she left me with less sensation and problems with arousal. After finding out her true character (she ignores me when I ask her medical questions about my complications), I now almost feel she did this to me on purpose as I specifically told her not to remove any tissue that could affect sensation, and not only did she went ahead and remove, but she did so more significally from the area I told her I had better sensation. I can see this because when I do manage to get aroused, that one area bulges significantly less compared to the rest. Is obviously not even. It also looks like she reduced the size of my neoclitoris without consent. Now I can only hope for expensive stem cell or weird experiments in an attempt to regenerate and fix the tissue damage she created. If you care about a normal sex life skip this person.

I had GCS surgery on October 20, 2015 and have never looked back. She is a wonderful surgeon and very caring person. I am very happy with my choice of using her services and very happy with my results. If you want the best this is the doctor that you want to use. I am very proud to recommend her Lyndsey M. Burke

Absolutely terrible experience start to finish. Dr. Bowers was supposed to perform a vaginectomy as part of my GRS, but did not do so. Without going into the extremely grizzly details, I had a major medical complication when I got home. When I contacted Dr. Bowers, she insisted that she had completed the vaginectomy. When another Dr. performed corrective surgery, the vagina was intact. I looked into filing a lawsuit, but it is very hard to sue someone in California. See a different doctor.

Dreadful! Destroyed my body, doing over extensive, anatomically incorrect surgery. Damaged blood flow to my genitals, they no longer function normally. Neither sexually or physiologically. Also, unable to lead a normal, active life thanks to major damage and ongoing pain caused by surgery.

I had Gender Confirmation Surgery (GCS) with Dr. Bowers two weeks ago. I have never had a more positive experience with any healthcare provider. Working with her staff was absolutely wonderful. Dr. Bowers technique is simply the best and my results are astounding. The follow up with Dr. Bowers and her staff has been great and they are quick to answer any questions I have had. Dr. Bowers is also willing to work with my doctor at home to help others transition more easily. She is wonderful!

I was surgically treated in Nov 2016 for GRS by Dr. Bowers. I had some pre-existing co-morbidities that made me more challenging. Yet all through the pre-work, surgery, hospitalization and follow-up not just Dr. Bowers but the entire staff at the facility she uses were extremely professional, attentive, and gracious to me. She explained things patiently to me, was very candid with me, and most importantly listened attentively when I had questions/concerns, and took the time to address them.
