Terrible sense of responsibility to patients. Does not read mails or bothers to respond. Does not hold staff responsible for comprehensive care.

I saw this doctor for 6 years, and she never caught an underlying problem, only kept upping the insulin, causing me other health problems as well as a mountain of money paid to doctors. DO NOT SEE HER.

I’ve worked with Dr. Mercado for many years and she’s amazing! I appreciate her directness and candidness, she is also kind and loving in her approach. She holds me accountable in a way that works for me and is invested in my journey. Isn’t that what everyone’s looking for in their care team? Highly recommend!!

Oh no! I don't think this woman is a doctor. I saw her for diabetes, and she gave me the most insulin recommended, did not follow up with me, and ignored me when that amount of insulin sent me to the ER.

For FIVE years Mercado should have realized I had gastroparesis because I was so insulin resistant, instead, she almost tripled my insulin, causing more problems. I think this doctor is good if she's just looking at numbers, but she is not good at looking at the patient and looking at the whole picture to find out what is going on.

I am thrilled to have found Dr. Mercado. After 26 years with Graves disease, radioactive iodine treatment, and now lifelong thyroid treatment, I finally found a doctor who takes the time to listen without rushing. She also was willing to involve my ideas in my own care. She was receptive to my taking a combo drug regime, instead of the standard protocol, and it has improved my life immensely. Recently we also switched from Levothyroxine to Synthroid, and again, improved health from the change. Other doctors simply read the labs and write a script without glancing up at the patient and listening to their needs. She is very busy, so I know to plan ahead and make my appointments well in advance. I appreciate Dr. Mercado.

I have been seeing Dr. Mercado for about 3 years regarding my diabetes. I have been very satisfied with her treatment. She has been very professional, helpful, through, and friendly.

Would not treat my condition after I was referred to her. Availability is terrible. Not worried about the patient. No bed side manner and her nurses are beyond rude and inconsiderate- I was told to google my issue and “move on”.

Took no past history. Not interested in person, just lab. Could not reach by phone.

Awful. Gave mom meds for a parathyroid condition and walked away. Found out later she should have been monitored frequently but this person ignored us and told us to go to her Primary care doc or the ER when she had issues. Support staff alternately scolded or ignored us. We switched to a doc at Swedish and have been very happy and well taken care of. Beware!

I have been diabetic for over 30 years. I am now 79. I have had many, many doctors. Dr. Mercado gave me a real caring doctor. She is very pleasant, understanding, and treats me like I am her only patient. I have never felt before a real relationship with a doctor who understands diabetes so well and who understands her patient's worries. I feel I have the best care possible!

Dr. Maria Mercado is an excellent physician and has helped me to get my diabetes more manageable. She has empathy and cares about the person. She always takes time to answer any questions I have and listens to what I have to say. She communicates well in simple terms that I understand. I couldn't be happier with my care and would highly recommend Dr. Mercado to others.

Dr. Mercado does give you her full attention and answers questions patiently and fully. Getting hold of her can be difficult, however.

Dr. Mercado is warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. After feeling like there wasn't a decent endocrinologist on the eastside, she was recommended by my primary care doctor and I couldn't be happier. She is thorough, does not rush you through your appointment, and her office staff is wonderful. I recommend her highly and have already referred several friends to her.

Dr. Mercado was disrespectful and inappropriate. She demonstrated a basic lack of clinical analysis and standard decorum. Her behavior was so inappropriate that I reported her to management.
