Dr. Clawson is very professional and informative.

This was an Outstanding Visit from the front receptionists to the assistants to the Hand Surgeon. Everyone was courteous, empathetic, and professional, making one feel instantly at ease. During my time in the waiting room I felt comfortable and peaceful. The wait was minimal and not drawn out or late, despite the heavy foot traffic coming and going. The assistants were very calm and efficient making for a trusting atmosphere. Very nice ladies which helped build a pleasant experience. Okay, Dr. Clawson, Simply the Best!! He walked me through my diagnosis making it easy to understand at the same time illustrating on a sheet of paper as he talked. Dr. Clawson is concise and thorough answering my questions with the ease of "A Pro". I highly recommended Dr. Clawson and his Associates. You can't go wrong at Idaho Hand Surgeons!!

I don’t require much hand holding but I was extremely disappointed in my appointment and told my wife after the appointment that he appears aloof, arrogant and bored with his job. I don’t believe he has any real concern for the person he is seeing. He diagnosed me with carpal tunnel which was what I already knew I’ve had for 20+ years. But when I tried to explain the concerns I had that it just doesn’t seem to be the same symptoms as friends and family members have experienced and I was concerned it seemed to be more like some kind of arthritis or something. He seemed annoyed at this point, looked me in the eye and said “ you don’t have arthritis, you have carpal tunnel”. I finally had surgery (another Dr.)with relief from numbness but no relief from the pain. I am now undergoing treatment for the real condition, rheumatoid arthritis. So I wasted 6 months and have more joint damage because of his attitude and lack of interest for my specific concerns.

Absolutely the best doctor in any specialty. Explains in detail your medical issue and gives you all the options for treatment. Plus he is a great guy and will answer all your questions, even off the topic ones.

Appt. went well when he wasn’t calling out for his assistant. After xrays and diagnosis, he abruptly got up and left without shaking my hand (I stood up with my hand out). His staff provided no direction regarding next steps, nor did they provide a procedure number. Just told me to call around and get estimates at varying hospitals/surgery centers (which is difficult when you aren’t provided a procedure number). Called the Clinic back and talked to the Office Manager. I explained that I felt their direction after the appt. was lacking. Office manager was kind and understanding, really showed empathy and said she’d pass on my experience to his M.A and make things right. Assured me they’d be calling me back on 5/28 with the next steps. Guess what? No call. I called 5/30 and left a message for the office manager. Guess What? No callback. Today is 6/3. Called the O.M. and informed her I would be going with a different clinic. Small things make up the bigger things. Felt like a number

I want to say thank you to Dr. Clawson and his nurse for going the extra mile for me. I had symptoms that were not fitting into my hand problem. Dr. Clawson got on the phone and called another Dr during my appt. to try and expedite an appt. When they did not get me in in a timely manner his nurse also made a call on my behalf. That’s caring and good follow up. I ended up having a brain tumor which was the size of a baseball removed . They may have saved my life.

Wrist pain for 6+months. Accurate diagnosis within 10 minutes of exam (with X-rays and manipulation of wrist). Discussed most appropriate plan of action as well as alternative programs should initial plan fail. Discussed wrist pathology and exactly what was occuring in my situation. Well-mannered, polite, professional. Very satisfied and would recommend to those suffering from hand disorders.

I broke 3 fingers in a fall last year, and Dr. Clawson was recommended by the urgent care clinic that did my x-rays. Although I found him to be a little more direct and brisk than most doctors I'm used to, he did a fantastic job with my surgery. I recovered very quickly, did not need physical therapy, and have had no lasting issues as a result of my injury. He was very through and answered all of my questions in all follow up visits. I would certainly recommend him to anyone with similar issues!

I was worse after surgery. I notified Clawson. He turned his back and walked away from me. This person does not listen to the people he treats. Stay away from Mark Clawson.

I found Dr. Clawson (and his staff) to be refreshingly normal, professional (and casual)...and best of al...PREPARED. I will fly back from my current residence in CostaRica to have further care as needed...he is worth it (and so am I).

Extremely kind, practical, and reasonable. Took the time to draw a description of ligaments & tendons, which explained my flexing problems.
