Mark Justin Fletcher

This is both a review and a thank you to Dr Fletcher! In a 15- month period of time, he expertly performed emergency surgery on a hip fracture, followed by a planned total knee replacement, left knee, and finishing with a total replacement of the right knee! For years I had denied the osteoarthritis in my knees, despite pain and even malformation of my legs! Dr Fletcher clearly explained the process needed for a complete turn around, convincing me to accept my physical reality. He and his team were there for me throughout the recovery journey. Now, 10 months after the last surgery, I am not a "bionic woman" but a happily mobile and pain free septuagenarian (with nice straight legs)! This new welcome reality is due to Dr Fletcher's skill and personable care and the support of his competent team. What more can I say except "thank you"?

The decline in my hip flexibility and comfort had a significant impact on my ability to do everyday chores and also exercise. I decided to have a hip replacement after consulting Coastal Orthopedics and Dr Fletcher. He answered all my questions with true patience! I chose to have the procedure at CT Orthopedic Institute at St. Vincent’s Hospital with the Robotics. Pre-op preparation was thorough and I was totally prepared to return home. CTOI was fantastic-everyone from admissions to nursing care. Follow up with in home PT- excellent. I could text the PA with questions and got answers promptly! The Force App was easy to use and motivational. All in all, I am pain free, can walk miles, my golf swing has improved and I can play/walk 18 holes and NOT feel miserable after! I’m ready to play again the next day I feel so good! I recommend Dr. Fletcher and his team, and the CT Orthopedic Institute to anyone considering a hip replacement! It’s the best decision I made!

I was diagnosed at the Norwalk hospital emergency room, last Monday Sept. 13, 2021. I had excruciating pain around my hip & back & could not walk or help myself. I would get spasms if I moved the wrong way. At the hospital the Dr. Referred me to an orthopedic Dr., named Dr. Mark J. Fletcher. My daughter saw so many excellent reviews for him & I said that's the Orthopedic I want for me. We live in Stamford, CT. With no car, we traveled by Door to Door para Transit. When we arrived: I was not disappointed. The whole atmosphere was nice,everyone was professional & friendly welcoming me. The Physician Assistant was outstanding. He was gentle, but strong & knew just what he was doing When Dr. Mark J. Fletcher came in & helped me, he showed that he was very very experienced. He knew just what to do, how to diagnose my problem. He pin pointed exactly where my problem was. And he gave me excellent advice, and referral for, Physical Therapy. I've been to other doctors, but he definitely is one of the best. His manners, compassion, his knowledge & experience & wisdom is what stood out. I would refer him to anyone anytime. And his Physician Assistant also! The staff in general was wonderful. No long waiting at all. Very comfortable & and clean offices & waiting area. Great doctor, thorough, easy to speak with - Highly recommend

I recently had a partial knee replacement with Dr Fletcher. The entire staff at Coastal orthopedics was a pleasure to work with. Sarah Aitkin was especially amazing in helping me get scheduled for surgery in 12 days. Dr Fletcher was gentle, compassionate, encouraging and very talented. Terrific. My injury was one of overuse. Dr. Fletcher is an athlete who understands such injuries. He diagnosed and treated my concern quickly. He explained his treatment clearly, gave me exercises to do to mitigate the problem, and gave an online source for additional exercises. Dr Fletcher is one of the best doctors I’ve ever meet. He treats patients with care and pays attention to their physical therapy and care. Takes times to answer all questions but most of all he’s great surgeon.

I recently my second hip replacement done by Dr. Fletcher. The first procedure was not conclusive that the issue was hip related. there was clearly deterioration in both my hips. That said the immediacy of the decline of one side after an accident was alarming. Between Dr. Fletcher and Dr. Bast - they carefully narrowed the problem to its source. The hip replacement was decided and done in 12/ 18. The second hip , which was more compromised than the other was replaced in 11/19. I am happy to say both hips are working great ! I never had any significant pain in recovery requiring more than a couple Tylenol a day. After five years of limping I now walk straight and pain free. While I am at it , the staff at Norwalk Hospital were superb. Sharon , Carey and Aaron to name a few were great.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fletcher's since February 2018. My first visit was for a shoulder injury due to a slip and fall on ice which turned out to be a "torn rotator cuff". I felt from the go I was with a genuinely caring and competent doc'. Dr. Fletcher was patient, personable, and before considering surgery Mark prescribed physical therapy. Ultimately surgery was performed some months later. I am not yet 100% but will resume PT in hopes of further improvement. I have, and will continue to recommend Dr. Fletcher to family and friends.

I had a total right hip replacement on 12/19/18, 2 weeks out I’m walking without the use of a walker and only using a cane occasionally. I owe my fast recovery to the excellent work of Dr Fletcher.

I went to see Dr. Fletcher for some mild pain in the glute/hip area that I had been having for 5 months+ and that had not healed on its own. Dr. Fletcher listened to what I had to say for 5 min, did a very brief examination (i.e touch your toes, bend backwards), barely asked any questions and in 10 min determined that I had a hamstring strain and that I just needed some PT. Under the care of other doctors, turns out I have a pinched nerve, which Dr. Fletcher never even considered
