Dr. Mark Christopher Lantzy

Stay away from this dentist! The office staff will hold you and your children hostage until you pay up front regardless of your insurance coverage. The office staff lied about filing a pre-authorization with my insurance provider and provided an "estimate" of patient responsibility that was +50% higher than what was actually covered by my insurance. 4 business days after my child's treatment we provided the EOB (explanation of benefits) to the office staff and they refused to even look at it and insinuated that the EOB was made up rather than a genuine document from the insurance provider. Based upon the EOB, we requested an immediate refund of the grossly inaccurate overcharge the office staff demanded on the day of treatment, but the office staff said they would not provide a refund until they were paid in full by the insurance company. When we asked to speak with the dentist, we were told that he was not available. The dentist and this office staff are not customer focused, do not have integrity, and should be avoided by the community. There are plenty of pediatric dentist in the area, and we would highly recommend that you do not use Lantzy Children's Dentistry.

Would give a zero star rating if possible. Poor - office staff is rude and incompetent when reviewing insurance and doing basic math. They demand payment up front even though they are unbelievably inaccurate in their review of dental insurance.

Dr. Lantzy has fixed my daughter’s chipped tooth to perfection! So thankful for his amazing skill as a pediatric dentist!

Due to Covid, parents are requested to sit in the car (if they are 6 and older) while the child is in session. But even so, Dr Lantzy personally came out to get me to go over my sons appointment. The staff is and has always been very thorough and professional. We’ve been going here 6 years! Highly recommend!

The staff is so friendly and caring. My 3 year old is Autistic so I had a lot of apprehension. He had to get some serious work done - root canal and fill cavities. The staff and the doctor talked to us and made us feel better about the whole thing. They were very informative about everything; this is what we’ll be doing, if this happens, then we do this etc... they did a great job and we’re very happy with how things went and the work that was done Can I mention again how nice and friendly the entire staff is?!?!? Would highly recommend!!!

Dr. Lantzy did two large fillings today using the Solea lazer without anesthesia and to my surprise I didn’t feel any pain! He told me it may feel cold in areas, but not painful and this held true. Dr. Lantzy and staff are the best of the best and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for high quality treatment, staff and service. Thank you so much for all you do!

We were new to Dr. Lantzy practice and we were there Friday for a pretty extensive procedure. Our son has some medical history issues that were underlying to begin with. From the arrangement to the appointment all the way through the procedure on Friday to include from the staff up to Dr. Lantzy and his assistants and the anesthesia staff that waa assisting him the entire office was so comforting and confident and so professional. If you are looking for a new practice for you kids I highly recommend Dr. Lantzy and his staff.

My son has some anxiety about the dentist and we had an appointment for my daughter to have a laser procedure done, but Joey had a toothache. Well, a tooth popping through the side of his gums. Known as a (sharks tooth) Dr. Lantzy took the time to see him, take some xrays and extract two baby teeth that were blocking the path basically for his adult teeth to come in. Joey did not cry, or try and bail out of the office. Dr. Lantzy spoke to him and explained what was happening and what he was going to do. Yeah, Joey didn't shed one tear. Thank you for squeezing him in and easing his mind. You and your staff are absolutely amazing!

Dr. Lantzy and his staff were efficient and thorough with my oldest daughter in ruling out a possible cavity today. He took the time to show me the xrays and the anatomy of possible inflamed nerves and the teeth can feel as if the tooth had a cavity. Thankfully there was no cavity. We look forward to the next teeth cleaning in April 2020.

We have had nothing but good experiences the last few years with Dr.Lantzy. From our normal exams every 6 months to an emergency call at night because of a nasty fall to the mouth. He sees all three of my kiddos and they are always excited to go and we have zero issues while we are there. Also, it’s almost impossible to find an office where EVERY member of the staff is kind, compassionate, and patient. I would highly recommend seeing Dr.Lantzy!

My 4 year old loves going to the Dentist, she looks forward to it, from picking out her toothbrush to getting her teeth cleaned by the most friendliest staff, to the exam with Dr. Lantzy, we love his silly jokes and personality, as well as his professionalism. Prior to visiting Dr. Lantzy’s office, my boys were on regular cleaning & dental visits at w/another Ped. Dentist. Our first cleaning visit, Dr. Lantzy suggested my 6 year old visit an ENT for minor swelling in his tonsils. Coincidentally, my son had been struggling with reading, which we later learned was due to lack of hearing after meeting with the ENT per Dr. Lantzys recommendation...hearing issues were a result of what was happening with his tonsils/adenoids, which were later removed. So grateful Dr.Lantzy took notice and made the recommendation. Most recently, my son had to get fillings, which was handled professionally. Dr. Lantzy & the entire staff were gentle& kind reassuring my little guy during the procedure.

So sad to leave this review but this morning was a horrible experience and my four year old left with a bruise and a cut on his chin. He was nervous going in but sat in the chair, but on the X-ray best and then things went south from there. He gagged on the x Ray film and once that happened he didn’t want anyone near his mouth. The technician and I decided to try again another time. However Dr. Lantzy wanted to see his teeth, so after being told by him to basically show my kid who was boss and force him to get his teeth cleaned. He screamed, cried and bit the toothbrush. Which then caused Dr. Lantzy to hold his chin which caused him to pinch my son resulting in a bruise and cut. In addition to that I was told that I needed to practice more at home with things that go on in a dentist office to help them out. My son is now even more terrified to walk into his office. Hopefully that changes within the next 6 months when he needs to see a dentist again.

My 3.5 year old has been coming to Dr. Lantzy before he cut his first tooth. We’ve never waited more than few minutes, and we’re always greeted with a warm smile and an abundance of cool toys my toddler loves to play with. The hygienists do a great job explaining in appropriate fun terms what they are about to do so the kids aren’t surprised or timid. They are fully engaged the entire time. Everyone is knowledgeable on what is to come for my son’s oral health and is eager to share tips and tricks to overcome brushing obstacles or give a heads up on major milestones. Well worth the drive up 35 to visit them!

My children love visiting Dr. Lantzy and staff. They actually look forward to their cleaning appointments which was not always the case. The staff has everything to do with that. Their friendly, caring manner makes them feel at ease. My son had some significant work done and I was a worried mess. Dr. Lantzy explained the procedure and helped me feel at ease. After the procedure Dr. Lantzy made it a point to personally call us that evening to check up on our son. I highly recommend them.

Twice now I have been charged for services not covered by my insurance without checking with me first.

We've been going to Dr. Lantzy since my son was getting his first few teeth. My 18 month old daughter is also a patient now. They both love going to the dentist to get their teeth clean. The office is so kid friendly- full of toys, Disney movies to watch, fun sunglasses and prizes for a good checkup. It's a wonderful place to go, especially if your little one is anxious about their first visit. So many smiling faces and wonderful staff! We've been so pleased. I highly recommend his office!

This office is the BEST because of Dr Lantzy. He is a super nice throw back to personal physicians and home visits. My daughter had two extractions at his office, each time he called that evening to make sure she was fine and see if we had any questions or if she was having adverse reactions. We moved; however... my youngest will have to fly to visit Dr Lantzy though I may have to pay more out of pocket...my piece of mind isn’t for sale. I KNOW my kids are in safe hands ‘dental health wise’

My daughter's experience was nice. The movie of Mulan played on the ceiling as the dentist checked her tooth. Sealants were recommended and am so thankful it was done. The dental hygienist did a wonderful job with my daughter.

3 years ago my son was at Camp Grady and was hit with a flashlight in the face around 9 pm at night . I called Dr.Lantzy on his cell phone , I had his number from a previous visit where he called after hours to make sure my son was okay and he answered and I sent him a picture of my sons front tooth that was broke in half and he told us to put wax over the tooth and have him at the office first thing in the morning where he built him a new tooth ! You seriously cannot ask for a better dentist! Just visit his office one time to see how amazing him and his staff are ! If I could give them 10 stars I would . Today we had a cleaning and they had time to seal his molars on a spur of the minute deal to save me another visit. Best Dentist Office Ever !!

Always go get a 2nd or 3rd opinion on your child, if you feel a treatment plan is very excessive. 75% of the work Lantzy said my daughter needed was Not needed. I Felt it is was just like your wife going into the car mechanic by herself for brakes,and leaving with a new transmission,brakes and an engine rebuild.. Not Ethical At All...Not even close. Dr Lantzy is very easy to consult with on proper treatments. He is honest about potential outcomes and I trust his recommendations. He personally called the night of procedure to check on his patient. He and his staff are very responsive, friendly and helpful!

The last time my daughter needed work done she had to be sedated so we were a little nervous about how she’d handle it this time without. Upon arrival she was very nervous & scared. Dr Lantzy & staff did a wonderful job in keeping her calm & talking to her throughout the whole process. There was no problems or complaints here. I am beyond impress & my child no longer has any fear about the dentist office! And on top of that, Dr Lantzy himself called us that evening to see how she was doing & wanted to tell her good job on being so brave. Highly recommend!!!

We went to him as a referral for my toddler needing crowns on his teeth and I’m so glad we decided to go with him for the procedure. Dr Lantzy goes above and beyond to take care of his clients . My son broke a tooth bad at camp and I had to text him on his personal phone and send him pictures. He responded immediately with instructions on what to do and had me bring him in first thing in the morning where he rebuilt his front tooth and made it look like new . Couldn’t ask for a better dentist .

We recently took our two week old son for a lip/tongue tie consult. Dr. Lantzy and the staff were very personable and answered all of our questions. After the exam, we were able to do the procedure same day. Once the procedure was complete we were allowed all the time needed to calm and soothe our little one before having to leave the room. Hours after we left we got a phone call to follow up on our sons status. We were also given Dr. Lantzy’s personal phone number to call/text updates. We had a great experience and would recommend Dr. Lantzy and his staff! Our experience from check in to check out was great!

The dental hygienist and dentist did a great job keeping my son calm and happy during his very first appointment. My only complaint was that we waited 15 min past our appointment time to be taken back. Other than the short wait we had a good experience and my son said he had fun. The team at Lantzy Children's Dentistry diagnosed my 4 year old with FIVE cavities on his last dental appointment (our second appointment in this office). Needless to say, we were quite shocked. He is my oldest child, and we hadn't experienced any cavities before so I wasn't fully prepared with all my questions immediately, so I didn't think to ask to see the x-rays. But Dr. Lantzy didn't offer to go through the x-rays with me, either. He immediately began talking about how they would schedule his fillings and that IV anesthesia would be necessary due to my son's age. They did not give me any other option. Logically, I was taken aback by the thought of putting my 4 year under IV anesthesia. I was rushed to speak to the front office employee in charge of scheduling these appointments. Although she was very patient with my younger children, including my crying baby, she heavily pressured me to sign all of the paperwork to schedule my son's treatment. When we got to a longer form, and asked if I could take the paperwork home to complete it later due to my screaming infant. She was very put out and refused to let me take any of the paperwork home. Only after I asked if she could e-mail the forms did she agree to that as an alternative. She didn't offer that up as an option herself, just acted very put out that I wasn't staying in the office to complete the paperwork. After leaving, I sought a second opinion from our former pediatric dentist whose office we left only because they were out of our dental network. They took their own x-rays and took the time to walk me through each one (without me even having to ask them to). The pictures clearly indicated one cavity and one that was beginning to form. There was ZERO indication of any other cavities. This dentist informed me that pediatric dentistry can be quite subjective and diagnosis and treatment can vary widely. She said this so as to not completely discredit Dr. Lantzy's office. However, her office approached my 4 year old's filling with a much less invasive treatment plan that included only a mild oral anesthetic. They took the time to get to know my son and understand his comfort level with the dentist's hands in his mouth. Dr. Lantzy's office just had assumed that because of my son's age that he would be overly fidgety and disrupt the filling process and therefore require the $1300 anesthesiologist (the total bill was expected to be $1500 for the 5 fillings - this included a $250 fee simply to book the appointment - and none of that fee was to be applied towards the services). Due to this experience, we have since returned as patient's to our former pediatric dentist, regardless of the higher fees for their being out of our insurance network.

Dr. Lantzy is great!! Office staff not so much! Always seems put out when asked something or questioned about bills or insurance. They need some people training.

We've used Lantzy for several years and have always been pleased. However, the last visit wasn't as good. The office was freezing and the appointment wait time was longer than usual and longer than we've ever experienced.

We have always gone to Dr Lantzy and have always liked him. He and most of his staff are very kind and caring to my children. I feel very comfortable taking all three of my kids there and will continue to do so.

Dr. Lantzy is a great guy but his nursing staff is cold and seems to be get worse each year I go here. The girl at the front desk gave me attitude when I refused to sign a form when I wanted to wait and see if my child needed some gas to get a tooth pulled. Then when i check out the girl just told me the cost and that was it not even a thank you or have a nice day...... GREAT DR. POOR STAFF

Dr Lantzy is wonderful! He is caring and sits down and takes the time to explain everything to parents and patients. He also shows a genuine interest in his patients and always ask the kids about themselves... What grade they are in, hobbies, activities... My girls feel like he really cares about them!!!

My autistic son began seeing Dr. Lantzy in 2013. Initially we were impressed with the care & attention. Today we had a hygenist that told my VERY literal, VERY anxious child that he had bugs in his mouth & continued to show him repeatedly how he should be brushing while rubbing a toothbrush around his already sore gums. He told her ow & made noises to indicate pain & she said, oh you're just being silly. Dr. insulted me and when I tried to explain hygenist he told me to transfer dentists
