De DeGuardi is calm, low key, listens well, and is respectful of the patients and parents. While in the past we've had mixed experiences with the LPN who does the intake, the one we worked with recently seems excellent and very personable. I definitely recommend this practice.

My daughter was ill and I made an appointment the same day to see her Dr. Dr. DeGuardi, MD, checked and determine that my daughter needed some tests to rule out anything. It was a good call. My daughter was given a prescription and she is well so far. Thanks!

I would barely give even half of a star to Dr.DeGuardi. During the pandemic when my child was suicidal the doctor told my daughter on a video chat to try some new hobbies. We delayed precious time staying with this doctor. It was after we left Dr.DeGuardi that I obtained a copy of medical records from our previous retired pediatrician and found he had written in the notes about the concern he had about a potential eating disorder. Dr. DeGuardi obviously ignored those records when we came to her. We came very close to loosing our daughter due to an undiagnosed eating disorder and spent months away in Chicago getting appropriate medical care for her. None of which was ever suggested or even acknowledged by Dr. DeGuardi. As a mother I felt unheard, and as if I were insane for asking why my child was growing slowly, why she was defiant and grossly disobedient at the age of 7, also why had she broken bones repeatedly? All of these were ignored and explained as growing pains, or a fluke, until we left UHS pediatrics and Dr. DeGuardi. I will not recommend this doctor to anyone and just the opposite, I plead to any parent that cares about their child.. find another pediatrician I would barely give even half of a star to Dr.DeGuardi. Dr. DeGuardi has been my pediatrician for as long as I can remember and throughout the years it’s been one bad experience after another. I understand that being a doctor means addressing any concerns you see fit, however, especially when working with teenagers, you should be sensitive and understanding when it comes to weight and body image. Every time I have seen Dr. DeGuardi I have been met with back handed comments about my weight. This past visit, the last visit I will ever go to, she said, and I quote, “if you got some of that weight off you’d feel so much better”. Now I might understand that statement if I was concerned about my weight and if I wasn’t feeling good or had concerns about my health. However, I feel fine, I take care of myself, and if she wanted to know the real reason why I gained 5 pounds (yes only 5 pounds), in the past year and a half, she should’ve gone about it in a different manner. Even if I did have a health concern, her answer would be my weight and nothing else. I don’t believe a doctor, especially of this age group, should be focusing that much on weight because of the issues it can cause mentally. If you have a real concern, take the time to ask and actually understand, rather than just making rude comments about weight and offering a solution of “eat better and exercise more”. We love the providers at UHS pediatrics. Mary DeGuardi is amazing and so knowledgeable. She has been overseeing my children's care for years and we are so happy.

Did the parking-lot phone check in for my son’s 12 month visit on Monday but was put on hold for 40min. Another 25mins wait in the office. It is suggested to check the purpose of call before putting people on hold. I was not given any information on the client portal of the new system until I asked but it seems there is a few more info missing before I can set up the account. Will have to call your office again to inquire. It is suggested to have the flyer and whatever instruction available at the check-in window for people to take. Communication was very good and I didn’t have to wait long.

Always informative and listens to our concerns intently. Caring and gentle with my children. Makes visiting the Dr.’s office a breeze.

As always the staff was kind and helpful. Dr. DeGuardi answers any questions I may have and also makes sure that the children have a chance to talk too. I wouldn't trust them to anyone else!

Dr DeGuardi is always attentive, thoughtful and thorough when she exams my children. I wholeheartedly recommend her.

Dr DeGuardi has been my childrens doctors for now 11 years and by far thee best Peds dr I could ask for! She takes her time with each of my kids, she’s patient, she listens and she I’d very knowledgeable!! Thank you for all your years of service and dedication you provide for my family!! ????

Dr. DeGuardi is top notch in our eyes! Having her as our pediatrician for 30 years (large family with various ages) has been nothing but a positive for us! Although there are other outstanding physicians... I would not trade her for anything! She's amazing and right on the mark when it comes to treating our children and maintaining good health! Our youngest had many challenging situations due to being a preemie... Her expertise guided us through a scary adventure... Her support and attention to details has saved us many times! I love how down to earth and family/friendly oriented compassion she presents... A mom/teacher/pediatrician who treats you as a team member and not as a client who knows nothing. She always encourages you to trust your instincts! If she is not sure of a particular subject... You can be certain she will research the subject and get back with you or refer you to others experienced in that particular subject... A few of our Specialist have raved about her expertise in how she handles various urgent care needs! Very encouraging to hear and of value to know you have a diamond in the rough! Her compassion shines, when she reaches out on her off day as a follow-up to see how your child is doing! We love her compassion and her abilities shine from her heart! We love Dr. DeGuardi! Always very informative. Takes the time to explain things to the parent(s) and the kids are always happy to see her.

Love Dr. DeGuardi! She always takes the time to listen to concerns. All the nurses are friendly and knowledgeable, and we never wait long to be seen.

Dr. Mary DeGuardi is great. My daughters have had her since they were babies. She cares, and is always attentive, no matter how small the issue is. I highly recommend her.

Dr DeGuardi is excellent and is everything you want in a pediatrician: caring, knowledgeable, understanding, and patient. At this facility the entire pediatric staff is wonderful. Always very pleased by the care we get for our son.

Dr. DeGuardi is incredible. She always takes the time to patiently listen to my daughter and I, and then she problem-solves with us in practical, applicable ways. From the first time I met Dr. DeGuardi, she put me at ease in a way that was comforting but never condescending. When I was a new mom, and still today, she has always met my anxiety and concern with patience, kindness and logic. Wonderful, knowledgeable, thoughtful. Fabulous pediatrician.

She has been our children's pediatrician for 28 years and had been an awesome doctor. She truly cares about the children she tends to. When my premee had lung problems, she did exactly what the lung specialist would have done. When my other child had Lyme disease, she diagnosed it quickly and stopped it from causing further problems. She is truly a wonderful doctor who has treated our five boys.
