I have complete confidence in Dr. Plante’s diagnoses. I have seen him on multiple occasions. He is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend him for any orthopedic problems.

A great place and a great team to get the orthopedic care that you need.

My first time ever seeing Dr. Plante he was very detailed about information when I asked about my right shoulder I was having issues with.

Excellent physician. Listens to you, and takes the time to make sure you understand your options. Is patient when responding to questions. Highly recommend.

Great patient care!

It was very good, staff were kind and it went by so fast! Dr. Plante is very knowledgeable and kind.

I was 43-years-old at the time I ruptured my ACL playing indoor soccer March of 2022. From my first encounter with the team at Ortho RI through my repair surgery with Dr. Plante, and my final Physical Therapy appointment in December of 2022, I couldn’t wish for a smoother overall experience. Everyone is kind, considerate, honest, and professional. I should not expect the level of recovery I achieved as a middle-aged man, from an injury from which even much younger people may not fully recover. However, Dr. Plante is just amazing, and the Physical Therapy staff and other support staff are all so knowledgeable and encouraging, that I never doubted for a moment the best of all possible results. If you find yourself in the unfortunate situation of a musculoskeletal injury requiring orthopedic medical care, just call Ortho RI and know you’re in good hands.

Dr. Plante treated my son for a highly unusual and somewhat serious sports injury. To say he was exceptional would be an understatement. His bedside manner towards my son was exceptional, and his surgical ability is nothing short of pristine. His recovery was faster than expected, and I could not recommend anyone higher for any orthopedic needs.

This was my 2nd in-person appointment with Dr. Plante (first one was in October, 2021 and one tele health appt.) Very professional office and staff. Very efficient and not much wait time. What I like about this practice is that they do not push you into surgery, they give you all options and work with you for you to decide the best course of action for your own individual care plan. I used to go to West Bay Orthopedics until their Smithfield office closed. I am ver pleased with the experiences I’ve had with Dr. Plante and his staff. I am so pleased to have Dr. Matthew Plante as my orthopedic surgeon. I’ve been a patient since 2018. Dr. Plante has performed two surgeries; a rotator cuff and a collateral ligament tear in my elbow. He is a very compassionate doctor that guides your surgical process with an excellent surgical team and staff. An additional rotator cuff surgery is needed in the future and I feel confident that Dr. Plante and his team will fix my shoulder once again so I can become pain free! I can’t thank both anesthesiologists enough at each of my surgeries that made me feel so comfortable and confident being under anesthesia! I was able to get an appointment in a timely manner with Dr Plante at the Foundry for a shoulder issue. His staff was helpful and courteous and I was seen within minutes of my scheduled appointment time. Dr Plante has a wonderful bedside manner. He was able to diagnose my problem from the physical exam and history, explain the diagnosis to my satisfaction( bursitis) and within minutes, inject my shoulder and offer me printed exercises/elastic band for home use. He offered his extension number so I could report my progress. I was extremely pleased with the encounter. I really appreciate the care I’ve received. Dr. Plante is very kind and caring. I love how when I have get my shot in my knee he talks me through it - wonderful bedside manner! I also love that I usually get in to see the doctor at my appointment time. I’m not waiting a long time like other doctors’ offices.

My first experience with Dr. Plante was easy. He was very kind, to the point and I felt confident in our plan. I think my surgery will go well and as discussed. I am grateful that I was set up with him!

Dr Plante is by far the most knowledgeable Orthopedic Specialist in the area. After visiting this place and the same doctor I had seen about 2 years ago I left very dissatisfied. The doctor was very short with his answers and it seemed as he wasn’t concerned at all with my condition. He gave me options without explaining the outcome if choosing any. It almost felt as tho he was just giving me a general answer to get rid of me. I have never felt like this with anyone else in the medical field. Wishing that no one goes through this while visiting the facility or this doctor.
