Dr. Merideth C. Norris

I was a patient of this practice for almost a year. During that time not one of my concerns were taken seriously. I asked to be put back on a medication I was on for years that I knew worked. The new medication I was on had horrible side effects for me, which included intense migraines and oversedation. The solution that she offered, was to take me off of medication completely. I didn’t take this medication for fun, I needed it, but that notion fell on deaf ears. When I mentioned my previous doctor, she disparaged them. She acted like the authority on medicine, and my needs were disregarded. Imagine my surprise when I found out she was giving out controlled medication, outside of her practice, to people that were not seeing her professionally, and with no medical cause. Although she was subsequently arrested and is currently awaiting trial, she is still allowed to keep her medical license, and practice medicine, although with no ability to give out controlled medication. It’s not like she made an honest mistake. She decided to knowingly break the law, and give out controlled medication to people that weren’t even her patients, putting all her actual patient’s care at risk. People can sing her praises all they like, she put the well-being of hundreds in jeopardy, at will. I was given no “bridge” prescription, a final 30 day supply of said medication, something that is typically legally required when being discharged from a practice to make sure the patient doesn’t go without their medication until they find another doctor. Imagine the audacity of a doctor that acts like the authority on medicine, disparages other doctors, dismisses patient needs, all while knowingly breaking the law, and providing controlled medication to non patients. When I brought up studies from respected, published doctors that were contrary to her stance on my care, I was told to “stop reading those studies.” I don’t believe this is the overall treatment she offered to all her patients. I believe she treated patients that she “liked“ with respect, and took their needs seriously. Which is not the MO of a good doctor. “Only those that I like get the treatment they deserve.” This was the subtext of my experience with Merideth Norris, and I hope she is held accountable for her abhorrent behavior. Luckily I eventually found another doctor, no thanks to her. The “good” reviews here are most likely from friends of hers, or are people she generously gave controlled medication to.

Excellent! I can not express enough how much Dr. Norris has helped My health and my life. She always listens. Always has patients health as #1 priority, even if the advice may not be what the patient wants to hear. The staff is always kind and courteous, they are awesome! The office is warm and friendly. If I had to recommend a dr. for anyone who wants to seriously make a commitment to improving their health, the list starts and ends with Dr. Norris

Dr. Norris is one of the most kind and gentle people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She's a great doctor and truly cares about the wellbeing of her patients. Dr Norris is an awesome Dr she cares and listens and is very knowledgeable. She treats with not only great medical knowledge but also with a holistic Approach treat not only the body but also including the mi d and soul. I highly recommend her as a primary care DR Journey

Always a great experience. She listens to her patients and help them in any way she can. she is down to earth,sweet,caring and very knowledgeable about a Plethora of symptoms/diseases. I drive 90 min just to see her every four weeks because that’s how much she Is worth it. I wouldn’t change drs for all the money in the world and her practice has finally come with a great family who all get along since the old receptionist Alex used to try to play Dr and give her answers before asking the dr first and at one point called me a ‘junkie’ a very big no no for dr Norris! an addict is not a junkie, it’s a derogatory term that makes even me cringe & when I told her she didn’t think A did it but now reading these reviews I see I wasn’t the only one severely affected badly by Alex and her attitude and having an office worker act like an RN or medical assistant which she was neither. Since then it’s been a pleasant environment to come into the place where they know you by face & smile to greet u.

My short experience with Dr Norris , She left me sick in a BAD way to have seizures and treated me as i WAS just a junkie!!! Some doctors just don't get it!!!

Very happy with this practice now that Alex is gone. Dr Norris is not just a write- you-a-pain prescription- kind of pain management doctor. She's the kind that will do manipulation on my injury/source of pain. She is patient and also cares about the mental well being of her patients. I drive an hour and 20 minutes each way to see her and it's worth every mile.

Now that Alex is gone this lives up to the compassionate and professional recovery that Maine so desperately needs. Thank you Dr. Norris for listening to your patients.

Extremely unhappy and disappointed.I have never met someone more pompous and offensive.And no receptionist "Alex"should play Dr.Its been the biggest hurtle of my recovery.

Dr. Norris is a kind, competent and warm doctor. She talks to you like a real person and invites you in as a partner in your treatment.

Everything was fine, except for the ride and "ungraceful" demeanor of one receptionist. I asked a simple question over the phone to this receptionist, and received attitude and felt as though I was beneath her. A second call was taken by this person, and blatantly lied, staying she told me this when she did no such thing. Also while in waiting room, receptionist took a call from another patient, everyone in waiting room could hear her belittling patient to Dr Norris. Time to find a new job Alex.

First time in 6 years of dealing with this that I came away not feeling like a drug addict, or med seeker. I felt heard. Will see how things go. So far it has been amazing. I try to educate myself about what is going on with the source of pain and will always participate actively in my treatment. There are drawbacks due only to distance and travel time. It has been worth it. It is validating to hear someone say you have a lot of reasons to have the level of pain you have. That helps.
