The day before my appointment I called to make sure of the time. She said 2:15 but come 30 minutes early as a new patient. After arriving 45 minutes early, I was told that my appointment was at 8:45 that morning and I had missed it. No offer to help in any way. Very rude.

Dr. Remillard is awesome!

I've been a patient of Dr Remillard for over 15 years. I've always been treated with nothing less than kindness and courtesy at his office! Just like any other doctor's office, SOMETIMES they are busier than others. But, I've never had to wait more than 20-25 mins to get called back to see the doctor. And, I have to go to his office every 3-6 months. I do not understand what the situation is with some of these people who have left negative reviews? They must be the type that go to McDonald's right after the breakfast crowd leaves, and then complain because the restroom us not spotless..... My family (my wife, kids, and I), and several of my friends and my neighbors are patients of doctor Remillard. And everyone I know loves him, Joan, and the rest of the staff at Helena Family Med! One thing I have heard about this office is that the doctor is great but you have to deal with the office staff. Well, today I was told my appointment was at 9:15 and so I showed up at 9:00 to fill out any necessary paperwork. Around 9:50, I noticed people kept going back who came in after I did, so I asked about it and was told that my appointment was ACTUALLY at 9:45, but they told me to get there at 9:15 (in theory so that I had time to fill out the paperwork). (They told me on the phone the appointment WAS at 9:15.) Anyway, as it was nearing 10:00, I was told there were still two people ahead of me and it would be at least another 30 minutes before I could go back to be seen. Unfortunately, I had to leave because I had not planned on spending my entire morning trying to see the doctor. I know that doctors get behind, but whoever makes appointments should tell the patient the exact time of his/her appointment instead of factoring in 30 minutes of paperwork time that takes 5 minutes. I had a great experience at Dr. Remillard's. I know I’m misspelling their names but Ragena at the front desk and Tamika who does labs are very, very nice. The other staff isn’t as outgoing but they were fine as well. I also liked Dr. Remillard and he acts like just a regular person talking to you instead of a doctor, and he checked me over completely but *asked* me first. I did wait in the waiting room for an hour and the floors are pretty dirty, but once I got back it was fast and they have nice technology in the labs room. You do have to wait a week for lab results and you have to walk into the office to get them but as I work across the street this isn’t a big deal for me. Great Doctor and very thorough along with great staff. Love that they open at 7am now

I've been a patient of Dr Remillard for about 17 years. I have been thoroughly satisfied with him and his staff. He is very patient and caring. I appreciate his staff and all that they do.

Dr. Remillard is a very good doctor. He listens well and takes the time required to understand my problem. Waiting time is never unreasonable. I am more than satisfied with the quality of healthcare I receive every time I go.

TERRIBLE FRONT DESK STAFF. THE NURSES ARE RUDE!! AND DR. REMILLARD IS A LOSER. I TOLD HIM THE MEDS HE GAVE ME DIDN'T HELP. THE STAFF IGNORED ME AND THEN SEND ME A DISMISSAL LETTER. Office staff uses blackmail /HIPPA VIOLATIONS IN WITHOLDING PATIENT RECORDS FOR PAYMENT OF PAST SERVICES Front desk workers are a joke. They have actually verbalized that they refuse to provide medical records to me (I was a patient there for over 10 years) due to owing a balance. The balance they say is owed is not relevant according to HIPPA. I told them this but they are standing g their ground. It’s no skin off my back to file a complaint with the CEO of baptist health system (notify him about the uneducated front desk workers there) but in addition to that I’m filing a complaint with HIPPA for the patients rights violation along with a complaint with Medicare. Dr. Remillard and his nurse are wonderful but I think they have a very hard time keeping quality employees at the front desk. They messed with the wrong patient. I’ve known other doctors to try to deny patients their medical records and they change their tone once they realize that they have one who knows how to read online lol. We are no longer in a age where rights can be violated. I hate it for dr remillard though. He’s a genuine person and a good doctor. I think he’s just focused on patient care as he should be. I doubt he’s even aware of the front desk shenanigans with the HIPPA violations etc. I’m a little shocked at the level of blackmail that the little office workers think they can go to in keeping patients medical records hostage for payment ?!? Despite what others have stated about the rude staff, I had a different experience. All of the staff including the Dr all were very polite and knowledgeable. The entire visit went very quickly and we were in and out in about an hour. The wait time was no longer than 25 min.

Their office staff is CLUELESS! They had me set my 26 year old son up with Dr. Remillard as his primary care physician with Medicaid in January. They told me I had to wait a month to get an appointment after that. Now they tell me on February 13th that they only see pediatric patients as of February 1st. My son is very ILL and their stupidity has set him back 2 months now in receiving care. Their office staff is CLUELESS! We both go to this doctor. He takes time to listen. We think he’s a very good family doctor.

I'm shocked at these Reviews, I've aways have had a Positive Experience here & I won't go anywhere else. Dr. Remillard takes time with you & has Compassion & will help you in anyway he can. I love this office.

I have seen this doctor a few times now and I have had really good experiences. I haven't had to wait past my appointment time. He took time to listen to me. The office staff has been very polite and helpful. The nurses and lab were nice and gentle. I have no complaints whatsoever.

Worst doctors office I have EVER took my children to. Front desk workers are so unprofessional and extremely rude. I do not recommend this office or doctor to anyone. Doctor cowards in the back while his minions are rude to EVERYONE who walks through the door.

I received poor medical care from Dr. Remillard's office and I believe my visit caused me harm. I went there on 10/11/17 because I had ear wax buildup in my ears. His nurse sprayed water into my ears. I immediately began feeling negative symptoms in my right ear. It felt like water was trapped in my right ear and my ear was stopped up. Later that same night, I developed pain in my right ear. By the next morning, I had a painful earache. Since then, I've been through 3 rounds of antibiotics, 2 visits to another physician and a visit to an ENT and my symptoms still haven't completely gone away. I've since learned that spraying water into the ear canal is the wrong way to treat ear impaction. Both my new doctor and my ENT only recommend and or practice vacuum suction to remove ear wax. I had no issue whatsoever with earaches in my right ear or the other symptoms until the day that I visited Dr. Remillard's office. All of these symptoms began just after his nurse sprayed water into my right ear. I do not recommend this medical practice at all. They caused me harm and pain that I am still occasionally suffering from, 3 months later. This medical office does not use the least harmful method to treat ear impaction. If you don't believe me, then ask any ENT for his or her recommendation on spraying water into an ear canal. Your ENT won't squirt or spray water into your ear canal, he or she will use a vacuum-like device to gently suck it out. I do not recommend Dr. Michael Remillard's medical practice. My mom began seeing this doctor as her primary this year after her primary doctor for 30 years retired. After 2 appointments she's yet to meet the doctor himself. Last Tuesday she went in after 3 days of running high fevers. They did labs and gave her 5 days of antibiotics. Of course they have to send the labs off to ATLANTA to be run and promise to call her Thursday with results. By Wednesday she was in the ER with what turned out to be a nasty case of pylonephritis (they could see the pus pockets in her kidneys on her CT scan). They gave her fluids and a dose of IV antibiotics and told her to return to her primary or the ER if symptoms worsened. By Sunday her 5 days of antibiotics were up, she still had not been called by this office about lab results from Tuesday and by Monday she started running fevers and having back pain again. She attempted to call this office twice without a call back and twice again Tuesday without a response. She went in to the office and was quickly told by the unprofessional secretary that she was "sorry she didn't call her back but she needed an appointment anyway." And explained they could see her Thursday.....No thanks my mother could be septic by then. I'm so glad that your secretary background gave you the medical knowledge to choose to not call her back. Needless to say she will NOT be using them anymore. I have never had an issue with Dr. Remillard. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to see him, and instead you are stuck seeing a practically incompentent nurse practitioner. They do not listen, and then have to go and "consult" with Dr. Remillard, which then leads to him not fully understanding your condition/situation because he's hearing the NP's version instead of the actual patient's version. I've been a patient there for over 3 years (when I used to be able to actually see Remillard not the NPs), but I will not be returning again. I have never had an issue with Dr. Remillard. Did not like this office at all! Office manager is very unprofessional! She (office manager) has a horrible attitude and NO PEOPLE SKILLS! My kids who are 13 and 15 said they did not like it and felt very uncomfortable. Our first and last visit here! The nurse practitioner was very kind but I seen receptionist slam hands on keyboard in front of her just talking to a patient on phone and talked about another patient in front of me who had just left. So getting in and out dealing with their attitudes is not worth it. We will drive to bham before we use this doctors office. Did not like this office at all! Office manager is very unprofessional! I personally have only been here 5 times, and I understand why some of the other reviews aren't great. But honestly I feel like they are exaggerating. I've never had an issue with anyone here, yes sometimes they aren't in a outstanding mood, but that's everyone sometimes. I have been a patient of Dr. Remillard for several years now. I have complete confidence in his ability. He cares about the overall wellbeing of his patients and I have never felt rushed. I can choose to wait for an appointment with him or if I need to be seen for a minor illness (cold or uti, etc) I can unually be seen by the nurse practitioner right away. I am pleased that the CRNP option is available and has helped my PCP keep his office open through all the changes since Obamacare was inacted. Was here at the office 15 minutes prior to my appointment and waited over an hour past my appointment time. The office staff is horrible, I asked what was taking so long as I had a 4 year old in tow. Never have I been treated so cold at a "family" physicians office. When I first used Dr. Remillard last year, I had already met my deductible with Blue Cross. Not thinking about it being a new year, I went in today for an appointment with no copay. They refused to let me see my own general practioner because I didn't have $35 on me. I explained my error in thinking and said I would mail in the copay. She refused, and was not nice about it at all. This cold, uncaring, attitude is not what I expect from my physician's office. I like Dr. Remillard very much. Seems to be quite interested in my health. His staff although kind seem very sterile and tired. Overall my experience has been good and I would definitely recommend this practice to others.

Let me be clear, here, that my low assessment is based on poor patient service and support -- not on quality of medical care. Dr. Remillard, as the person I see for care is exceptional. I have a problem with getting to him or speaking to "a human" when what I need falls outside of their established boundaries. Recently, I went to Dr. Remillard at 10 in the morning for what turned out to be an upper respiratory infection. I called at 1:27 PM to find out if my illness was communicable or not and was sent to a "General Question" voicemail. At 3:00 PM, after not hearing anything, I called back and spoke to the person who books appointments. She told me that he had the message and would call me back. I explained that I needed an answer more quickly than that, since I needed to cancel a training session that I would be conducting later in the afternoon. She seemed "put out" by my request, but told me I was welcome to stay on hold, and wait for the Doctor to get out of an exam room to answer my question. As I spoke with her, she interrupted me several times and made it very clear that she didn't like handling my issue. Talk about not feeling "heard"! After about 5 minutes, another lady came on the phone and gave me an answer. Dr. Remillard has my phone number and contact information, and I will post a prompt update to this review, should someone on his staff consider it to be important enough to address. Dr. Remillard cares about his patients and listens well. I am not a big fan of going to the doctor but he makes it very easy for me.
