Dr. Yu is amazing. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is so kind and understanding. She truly cares about her patients. She explains everything in full detail and works with you to come up with a plan that best suits your needs. I recommended her to anyone who is in need of an endocrinologist she is your go to person.

HORRIBLE! WAIT TIMES OVER 1 HOUR! I was a patient of Dr Yu from around the end of 2017 until the start of 2021. I do not recommend this doctor or this office AT ALL. I suffer from hypothyroidism and after having my child, I lost almost all the baby weight naturally. Then she lowered the dose of my thyroid medication by MORE THAN HALF, causing me to gain a huge amount of weight (30 lbs) in a very short amount of time (6 weeks). I knew there was something wrong and made an emergency appointment where she just said oops and increased the dose again. During that time I was so big, tired and feeling sick. It took so long to get my thyroid levels back to normal. Once in 3 years I missed an appointment and even volunteered to pay the no-show fee, which I did, and got MAJOR ATTITUDE from the staff and doctor on my next visit. Don't be fooled by the good reviews and her "friendly" demeanor. This is NOT a good doctor and the 2 ladies working in the office are worse. HORRIBLE! WAIT TIMES OVER 1 HOUR! HORRIBLE! WAIT TIMES OVER 1 HOUR! I was a patient of Dr Yu from around the end of 2017 until the start of 2021. I do not recommend this doctor or this office AT ALL. I suffer from hypothyroidism and after having my child, I lost almost all the baby weight naturally. Horrible experience the doctor is very rude and Aggressive. I am new to diabetes as I was diagnosed approximately 10 months ago.I have questions and concerns on how to handle the problem. I could not believe it yesterday when the doctor said four times to me yesterday “if this is not working out you can just find another doctor”. I was asking questions about different options and she actually said that to me I am sorry I am old school and I’m a big believer of the customer is always right and customer service is the most important thing. I did miss an appointment back in February which I was charged $35 for and happily paid for the inconvenience. I don’t know maybe she was angry about that. If you’re looking for a long-term doctor to help you and work with you this is not the one for you she seems to push her patients through like she’s getting their haircuts. Excellent. Explains everything. Very supportive of patient. Takes time to review everything. Appointments prompt, little wait. Staff is great. Been using her for five years. Will keep her!

Dr. Yu is excellent. Explains everything in layman's terms. Staff is courteous as well as friendly. Office is spotless. I would recommend her to anyone who needs an endocrinologist!

Dr Yu has such a warm welcoming friendly way about her. She is thorough and isn’t quick to medicate. Her staff is friendly and nice. It is a pleasure going to see Dr Yu she’s the best!

Both my wife and I had visited this doctor multiple times. Overall it is ok despite some issues. below are some feedback My experience: 1. After I finished my final bloodwork after all treatment, the doctor's office staff asked me to schedule an appointment in which the doctor told me that my final bloodwork result was perfect and no more treatment is needed. Many specialists would just give the patient a call about a positive bloodwork result instead of requiring a paid appointment if there is no issue found. My wife's experience: 1. Overall my wife is getting much better with the medication she provided. 2. There was one appointment that the doctor didn't look at the bloodwork result until my wife got into her office for the appointment. We learned that one test was missing because of the negligence by the lab. It could have been more effective if we get notified beforehand instead of on the day of appointment 3. There was one appointment in which the doctor didn't answer all our questions during our scheduled appointment as she had someone on the phone. The doctor gave us a call to later in the day to explain more as we expressed our unhappiness through negative comment. My overall recommendation is that some due diligence review of the bloodwork before the appointment and more transparency about the overall treatment should be provided. Dr. Yu started out being very nice, educated and caring. I thought she had lost that. My bad. She called me from vacation to address issues I had left on voicemail. Extremely responsive and top notch.

Dr. Yu is rated on Zocdoc 4.9 out of 5 stars. With almost 200 reviews. Knowing you cannot fake reviews there without being seen. If it was good enough for me, it should be good enough for you as well!!

I am writing this review on behalf of my grandmother Adelina. For ten years she has seen three different endocrinologists. She finally found her lifesaver. Dr Yu takes the whole patient into the account. The other endocrinologists were extremely aggressive in their approach to her diabetes. She is 81 years old and after one meeting with the doctor she adjusted her medications slightly and her sugar is now perfect. The doctor has a wonderful bedside manner and is extremely knowledgeable and empathetic. My grandmother feels she can finally live her life to the fullest without worrying about her diabetes. My honest review is that I drive 1 hour each way to see Dr. Yu for my visits. Probably passing a dozen other endocrinologist in my car to see her. That should speak to how much I am satisfied with my care under Dr. Yu. As long as I need a endocrinologist, she will always be the one for me. The office staff is also wonderful. My once out of control thyroid condition has been well controlled under her care. My honest review is that I drive 1 hour each way to see Dr. Yu for my visits. Came together with a family member this past week for a first visit and came away from the appointment super impressed! Too bad Google maxes out at 5 stars, I would go higher if i can. Dr. was so friendly and completely engaged in conversation with both of us. We both came away very impressed with her. The two woman that work in office were absolutely wonderful as well. Such a kind, caring doctor. She is very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. Her office staff are also very nice and organized and it's easy to schedule or change appointments,

My mother 82, has a team for health care providers, Dr Yu by far is the best, she treats the whole patient and is very mindful of age related issues. When she talks with my mom and offers instruction on managing her diabetes she is clear and kind. When we leave an office visit I personally feel confidant that all is in order. All the staff in the practice are beyond perfection. I look forward to taking my mom to Dr Yu, it is an enjoyable experience, and my mom loves her!

I love Dr. Yu. She is thorough, professional and very approachable. She is willing to answer any of my concerns, big or small. My husband is her patient, as well. In fact, he recommended me to her.

I love Dr. Yu. She is always very thorough and kind and I'm very comfortable in her care for my thyroid. I also never wait more than 5 minutes to see her.

Would never recommend.

Was referred to Dr. Yu for hypothyroidism, however she said she does not believe in lifestyle factors or changes in diet for symptom relief, only way to treat is through medication. But that's not what current research shows. She just looks at your labs (TSH only) and prescribes medicine and does not look at the whole picture. If you want a doctor to just treat your TSH levels instead of the root cause, you can see her, but I would rather see a doctor who is up to date on research and can provide treating the diagnosis instead of just the symptoms. RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF . I ask the staff to have the doctor call me because I had a medical question for her . They refuse to let me speak to the doctor . The receptionist even told me to find another Endocrinologist

Wonderful Caring Physician. Can highly recommend! Very friendly physician, and her staff is always so kind to me. Been seeing her for a few years. Board certified and definitely knows her stuff and answers any questions I may have. Most importantly, my diabetes has improved greatly since seeing her. Definitely made the right choice choosing her. Have been recommending her to all my family and friends and all have been happy with their visit. In my humble opinion one of the best out there!! I initially thought she was nice & thorough. I had an accident & was a in cast & couldn’t make it in to her office for my next appointment. Eventually i needed a new prescription for thyroid medicine. I called to explain why I couldn’t go to the appointment, i was told dr yu will only fill for one month then i have to come in. Well the month passed & i still couldn’t make it in. Too long to go into details about the rest of the story but basically She’s money hungry & phony, do not go to her.

Horrible office staff!! Not sure if the Dr. Is aware that her receptionist Crystal is so nasty to her patients. From what I understand from "Crystal" the office manager isn't any better!! Dr. Yu is pretty nice but she's gonna lose a lot of patients with these two hags running the show!!

Excellent! 5 Stars ***** I found Dr. Yu through friends who highly recommended her and were all thrilled with the care they have received from Dr. Yu. Before making a appointment I was happy to see that all of her zocdoc reviews gave her average of 5 stars. My first visit and the three subsequent follow up visits with Dr Yu were all absolutely fabulous and exceeded all my expectations each time. Due to my many chronic physical ailments, I have unfortunately developed somewhat of a expertise in judging specialist and I must say Dr Yu has provided the best care among them all. She has brought my A1c to a much lower number than my primary care physician who was managing my diabetes previously was unable to achieve. When I went to see her I was originally worried that insulin would be required due to my extremely high A1c number but she was able to bring down my numbers so insulin was not needed after all. I have recommended her to all my friends and family and would use her again without any reservation. My favorite physician on Long Island is Dr Yu! I was very nervous coming to see Dr. Yu but, form the moment I called for my appointment I was greeted with kindness and respect. Her staff is incredible and willing to go above and beyond to accommodate the patients. The receptionist and the medical assistant took me right in and I only have a very short wait time to see the doctor. Dr Yu was extremely knowledgeable about my condition and I would strongly recommend this office for any one needing an endocrinologist. I saw Dr Yu today for the first time. I was highly Impressed. She is so SUPER friendly, and kind. She made me feel comfortable and she listened to all my questions. She slowly explained everything to me and at no time did I ever feel rushed. I totally recommend this doctor. Just a wonderful doctor.

Dr. Yu, while personable, will keep you coming back for unnecessary appointments just to bill your insurance. Additionally, Crystal (one of the ladies behind the desk) is a nightmare! She lacks people skills, and is completely disrespectful to the patients. All I can say is that Crystal is in the wrong profession to be managing relationships and dealing with patients!! She should be fired!

I started using Dr. Yu a year ago. My initial experience with Dr. Yu was fine but over time I found she did not care so much for her patients but more how much she can bill for. I have diabetes that I manage through diet, exercise, and meds. And because everything is under control, she doesn't see me as "profitable". The concerns that I have she dismisses and the smallest of things requires an office visit. I do not recommend her. Look for a dr that actually treats everyone seriously.

Absolutely fantastic doctor. Listens, respects your opinions, and is very thorough.
