Best doctor I ever had. I had heart and lung doctors. And Dr. Withnell is the best

Dr. Withnell was my doctor for a little over two years, and was one of the best family physicians I've ever had. He had a very hands-on approach to medicine, and was willing to do procedures in the office that other doctors automatically referred me to a specialist to take care of. He recently left Community Health Care and I have been assigned another doctor that I have not met yet. If i find out that he is with another practice locally, I will be transferring my care back to him.

This office is horrible, especially Dr Withnell! I would no recommend using this practice at all! Dr Withnell advised me to stop taking the Ativan that he prescribed me cold turkey since it was no longer needed. I explained that with the dose he had me taking, I did not feel it was safe to just stop taking it, but to taper off it slowly. Dr Withnell also advised me to go outside and get sunlight when I called concerned about the Covid symptoms I was experiencing after testing positive. Do not waste your time with this practice! The office staff are very rude and impossible to get ahold of. I didn't even bother trying to transfer my medical records to my new primary physician after leaving as it would have been more of a hassle for me than to just start over somewhere else. Excellent doctor. He was my doctor for over 20 years & wish his office would still take my insurance. Dr. Withnell always explained everything & even made drawings to help me understand. If you’re looking for a doctor, I would recommend him 100%.

Dr Withnell is a horrible doctor and their staff is even worse I requested my medicine to be sent to a certain pharmacy in Indiana at CVS but instead of them sending it there they sent it to a Walmart in Illinois instead of correcting this mistake They told me to drive 45 minutes out of my way to get my medicine My father had died from COVID-19 and I had to go to his funeral by 3pm It was already after 2pm when Dr Withnells office told me to drive 45 minutes out of my way And then they proceeded to tell me they had enough with giving me refills After I've already went through losing my father they argued with me and acted like it was my fault for asking them to send it to the pharmacy I asked them to send it to and it was their own mistake and didn't want to fix it all I have to say about this doctor's office is they don't care about your feelings I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who is seeking a good doctor Dr Withnell is a horrible doctor and their staff is even worse I requested my medicine to be sent to a certain pharmacy in Indiana at CVS but instead of them sending it there they sent it to a Walmart in Illinois instead of correcting this … More

If I could give negative stars I would. After moving to the area I had to find a new PCP and a browse of nearby doctors gave me Dr. Withnell as a provider. The first couple of doctors that were suggested were farther away, so I took my chances... Worst decision I could have made. After dealing with multiple health issues and an absurd amount of symptoms, I spent several visits with Withnell and he did not want to hear my concerns and asked what "symptom" was the worst so he could focus on one issue... No thanks to him my nurse at myOmy GYN discovered my thyroid autoimmune disease that Dr. Withnell didn't even consider. Then from there I had to see a few other specialist in other areas that ended up diagnosing me with several other serious problems that went undiagnosed and overlooked by Withnells neglect. At the last visit I had, he told me that my symptoms were in my head and that my problem was anxiety and in my head. When I told him working over 40 hours a week was making me sick he said I needed to "deal with it"... Like I was just being lazy (I have a very physically demanding job and have a thin/muscular build, far from being lazy) I was ultimately diagnosed with secondary adrenal insufficiency (that explains the severe symptoms from the extra physical and mental stress) by my endocrinologist after suffering an adrenal crisis because Withnell did not want to do his job. I could have died because of his arrogance and ignorance. I would NOT recommend him to anyone and have told several people to stay far away unless they want to waste time and money and risk their life because of the negligence! Go anywhere else and always research first! Don't be a fool and go for convenience like I did. If I could give negative stars I would. When my husband and I first went to this office as new patients everyone was great but the second time my husband went to Dr. Withnell he was not very polite. From then on they had a practicing doctor see my husband. At one point she( the doctor) told my husband he had cancer. When my husband went through all the tests and then went to his lung doctor, his lung doctor told him he did not have cancer and perhaps he should change his regular doctor. So I would not recommend this doctor office to anyone! Hubby and I worried about finding a qualified physician in Stark County that we could relate to when we moved from OSU, but our worry was in vain. We met Phil Withnell and our concerns were put to rest immediately! He was informed, smart, and made us feel right at ease, even sharing a few jokes. We absolutely loved our visit as much as we love Louisville, Ohio. Thanks to everybody at the group for making us feel at home! Excellent doctor. Best family physician I have ever had. Detail oriented and thorough. Has a great sense of humor. Always timely.

My husband and I were so happy to find a physician like Dr. Withnell. He's knowledgeable and trustworthy, making us laugh and feel relaxed on our visit. I highly recommend him!!

I have been seeing Dr Withnell for years he is an excellent Dr. I have spina bifida and when he first took me on he did the research one it and asked Specialist about my condition.

As a new patient I went there for being in a bad accident that left me with back pain and skin grafts I went to his office because I moved from Chicago. After being on the same meds for past 7 years he lowered my dosage & made me schedule 3 differnt test which I didn't mind.What upset me was weeks after my appointment I got a call around 9am stating I have to get there by noon so they can count my pills?? So weird and they treating me I better get there by certain time I had a job and kids plus they know I don't have a car!! Won't ever go back never in my life have I heard you have to rush in to count your pills not a child!!!! Save yourself a trip plenty of doctors in area. Dr. Withnell is a down to earth guy and he doesn't over prescribe. I am a new patient of his and love it! Also the patient portal is great. You can see your test results, office visit overview, and email the office directly without even calling in. This includes for refills

He can be short of comments and I find myself asking a lot of questions from him that should normally be part of his conversation with me concerning my health. Sometimes he looks at his computer the whole time and I don't feel he is actually listening to me. He needs to acquire some better commutation skills with patients. He also never addresses me by my name so I don't know if he actually knows who I am after 3 or 4 years that I have seen him. I told him his staff can be a little rude some
