My first appointment required a 7-month wait. He is that busy! The staff was very courteous. Including interaction with staff members, I waited over an hour to see the doctor who spent approximately 5 minutes with me. I'm very anxious about my vision problems and would have preferred not to feel rushed. I don't know what to think.

For more than ten years, I have been a patient of Dr. Carol Young with the Coastal Eye Group. The need for cataract surgery had finally arrived, but due to her retirement from performing surgery, I became the patient of her colleague, Dr. DeChamplain, whom she highly recommended to me. This summer, Dr. DeChamplain performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Dr. De Champlain. I am an eighty-year old female who had worn eye glasses for seventy-three years. Not only was my cataract surgery successfully completed without any complications, my severe astigmatism was corrected , and the procedures employed by Dr. DeChamplain enable me to see perfectly without the use of any eye glasses at all, whether for near or distance. It was miraculous beyond my wildest dreams.

Dr. D is what the staff call him and I only had a few moments with him because they work very tight on time so I didn’t have that much time with the Dr. The process was very efficient and the staff provided me with much of the information I needed so I feel my time spent with the Dr. was to finalize the plan which is what I was looking for. It was a very good experience!

Two cataract surgeries performed by Richard Dechamplain,MD flawlessly with results that exceeded my expectations. No post-op pain. I could tell a difference the day of surgery. Dr. Dechamplain and staff very professional,efficient, caring and very organized. I was very impressed with Dr. Dechamplain calling and checking on the afternoon of surgery. I am an RN and to be treated like that means alots. I can see without glasses or contacts. I would recommend him in a heartbeat, infact I have recommended him to several friends who had or scheduled for surgery.

I traveled from Dallas, TX to see Dr. Dechamplain for cataract surgery. I was unable to find an ophthalmologist in my hometown who I felt was as competent as Dr. Dechamplain. I had no pain with this surgery, and I can now SEE! I appreciate and love Dr. D!
