I’ve been seeing Dr. A for 5 years now, my wife’s whole family for over 20 years. I so happy I took their suggestion to switch my General Practician. Dr. A always make you feel comfortable and never rushes out to see the next patient, he takes his time and genuinely cares. I would recommend Dr. Alexander to anyone. Stay Healthy America

My grandparents, mother, wife and I have all used Dr. Alexander for many years. My wife called for an appointment for a soar throat and they told her she needs a Covid test before she will be seen. We are all vaccinated and everyone wears masks at the doctors office. This is ridiculous. A doctor needs to see his patients. If they are so concerned about Covid tests they should give rapid tests in the parking lot. Instead they make you go somewhere else for a test, wait a few days while you are sick and then maybe the doctor will see you. Dr. Alexander is a good doctor and very attentive but these Covid rules are absurd. Do your job. Dr. Alexander is one of those rare breeds who still takes hand written notes to remember the details about his interactions with you. He truly listens, and makes careful decisions in your care. Never in a rush, your visit is met with empathy and treatment decisions are made together. His front desk/reception staff seem overwhelmed. A phone call to the office may take several attempts as you get a busy signal which is a bit unusual in today's times when calls have to be answered by someone. Although I am leaving this review as one person, I am speaking for my entire family (five people) and friends who are/were long time patients of his. The only reason I stopped going was because I moved states. Dr. Alexander is hands-down the best primary care physician I have ever had and likely ever will have. He takes the time to listen to his patients, assess their issues in full, and take the most important next steps to heal them (whether it be by prescribing medications or by referring you to a specialist he well trusts). I have gone with issues I didn't believe anybody could figure out, but he has. He has an extensive amount of knowledge in not just the primary care field, but in all fields. I went in with a pain on my side and he educated me on ovarian cysts such as my OBGYN would do. I wound up going to the OBGYN and Dr. Alexander was spot on with what was causing me pain. While the receptionists may seem quick or disinterested on the phone at times when you call, this is a very busy office and they likely get calls nonstop because there are multiple doctors in this building. However, I can assure you the receptionists are very kind in person. As are the nurses (shoutout to nurse Mary for being the coolest one there) and those who work at the prescription desk (shoutout to nurse Mary for working there too). I have always gotten same-day appointments if I called early enough. I only had different-day appointments if I requested them that way. Wait times may be a bit long in the waiting room even when you schedule an appointment, but that is because Dr. Alexander takes his time with everyone. In my opinion, it is worth the extra time waiting to be seen by someone who actually cares. I am also young and Dr. Alexander tends to see elderly patients too, who may need more care! Patience is a virtue in situations like these. As for prescriptions, mine are always filled day-of or next-day dependent on the time I called. I have never had to wait for one. Dr. Alexander listens right away if I have an issue with a prescription. After prescribing Prednisone to me and I found out I was allergic, he assessed my needs immediately over the phone and prescribed me something else. Every time I saw him after that, he would always remember to not give me that prescription again. All in all, don't hesitate to make an appointment here. You will not regret it. Dr. Alexander was just wonderful. He made me feel very comfortable from the moment we met. He spent over an hour with me for my first appt. with him. He was through, knowledge, and extremely professional. He asked me many questions, completely checked me over, and he was so very very kind. The words haven’t been created to truly express my true appreciation, so I will simply say, “Thank you, Dr. Alexander!”

My experience is always very good. Dr Alexander is always patient and always talks to me about any problems i have . The office staff has always been good snd helpful!!! I give them s 5 star

Although Dr. Alexander is amazing, his office is the WORST. more nurses than not have terrible attitudes. Every question and call is a complete inconvenience. Even if you are sick, they NEVER have appointments open for a solid month . I tried to reschedule a physical from December to the next available and the next date was in March. (I called before thanksgiving to do this FYI) the refill desk which is only a machine because no nurse could be bothered to ever answer or talk to you Continuously refills the wrong prescription at the wrong pharmacy. The wait time is eh. Long time but also somewhat average. 30-50 mins Again Dr. Alexander it was the nicest doctors I have seen. Very personable and kind. But the office out ways his good.

He's the absolute best!

I have been seeing Dr. Alexander for 17 years. As of today, that will no longer be. Over the years there has been a serious decline in this office. The reception staff are almost always rude. They NEVER answer the phone the first time you call during business hours. When they do, it’s immediately “please hold”. Prescription renewal requests take FOREVER. The wait time in The waiting room wait ever since becoming affiliated with Northwell has been atrocious. Same day appointments are RARE. I called once because I had bronchitis and someone told me it would be four days before I could get an appointment. Dr. Alexander LOVES prescribing ZPACKS - it’s almost like he gets a kickback for prescribing it. Stuff that it’s not even necessary for, he still prescribes it. I need someone that actually listens to my concerns and takes them seriously instead of just prescribing one thing that has nothing to do with what I’m in there for. Today was the LAST STRAW. I was in a Motor vehicle accident on June 30 and have seen every specialist imaginable. Orthopedist, a chiropractor, neurologist, physical therapy, a cardiologist, massage therapist etc....I needed to follow up with my primary and was DENIED AN APPT when I was told that he accepted no-fault insurance. So when I stated to the receptionist that he is DENYING ME AN APPT AND I AM A LONG TERM PATIENT that I would file a complaint with Northwell and then all of a sudden I was granted an appointment this week. So I asked what the sudden change of heart was and she told me that the doctor doesn’t understand how he can help me. So if you don’t understand how you can help me, I don’t understand how I can continue to pay you a co-pay and allow my insurance to pay you for services that you clearly cannot provide. So now I found a new PCP and will be seeing them soon. Northwell has been tweeted and contacted and I am filing a state complaint. Thanks for NOTHING over the last 17 years! If I could give him a 10 star rating, I would. I’ve been going to Dr. Alexander for over 11 years and I will never go anywhere else. He is NOT quick to prescribe anything “just because”. He would rather take a more natural approach if the diagnosis allows. He listens and genuinely cares about his patients. At least that is how i feel. What he has done for me and continues to do for me as his patient and what he has done for my family through the years, I could never ever thank him enough. The wait may be slightly longer than your scheduled appointment time but it is never more than 20 min- 30 at most..and he is well worth the wait! The staff couldn’t be any friendlier and I’ve ALWAYS been seen the day that I call. Always!!! I cannot say enough good about Dr. Alexander and I refer him to everyone I know. I never actually saw the dr but the staff in the office is awfull. I had just been assigned Dr Alexander by my insurance company and I called to make an appointment, the woman answering the phone picked up and asked me what insurance I had when I told her she said we dont, take that and hung up on me. Now I understand that there may have been a misunderstanding but since I had this problem with another dr I asked the insurance company to double check and was assured they were accepting patient

Dr Alexander is a true family physician. cared for his patients and follow up if you are sick.

I have been a patient of Dr Alexander since I was 19 years old I am now 36 and still a loyal patient of his. He is a very caring and trustworthy Dr! I know I can call his office in the morning and he will see me that day. If i ever have a question for him, I know he is just a phone call away. He is always thorough and always looks at my past records to make sure he diagnosis me and gives me the proper medications. I recommend him to all my friends and family.

Dr. Alexander has been my primary doctor for over 12 years he has been part of my decision making when it comes to my care. I Have a very rare immune Deficency called cvid and if it was not for dr Alexander guidance and compassion I am not sure if i would still Be here . He has always been concerned with me and does Not hesitate when giving guidance there should Be more doctors like Dr Alexander he makes you feel confident that your in the right hands

I am so glad I finally found a great Dr. Dr. Alexander is such a wonderful doctor! he takes time with his patience to thoroughly to go over any diagnosis at every visit. He is composite, makes me feel very comfortable and has a great sense of humor. I rarely have a long wait when I have an appointment and I have always gotten in to see him that day if I am sick My entire family are now his patiences as well.

I would not recommend Dr. Robert Alexander to anyone. Doctors like him are a disgrace to the profession! Lax attitude, except when it comes to overcharging for his lacking services. He is not thorough, doesn't put in any effort into caring for a patient whatsoever. It is disheartening how the medical field has just become a business about the numbers but to be honest Robert Alexander does not even do the job he over charges for! I would not trust anyone I care about in his hands! Appalling!!!!
