I have been a patient with Dr Rivera for over 8 years, the search for a well qualified doctor was extensive and to this day I will always respect his decisions for my care, he has always been compassionate, knowledgeable and the best in his field of medicine.

ON 12/21 THIS PERSON PREFORMED A PROCEDIRE ON ME TO LOOK INSIDE MY BLADDER. I started bleeding the next day and have pain. For a week now I have been trying to reach him leaving messages every day. I feel very strongly that the Naples office of Advanced Urology need some serious assistance with compassion, scheduling and customer service. I went all the way to the Bonita surgical center with my husband, a thirty to forty minute drive, on December 23rd, only to arrive and be told that the insurance company had yet to approve his procedure. The receptionist asked me to wait as she was sure that the office was on top of it. We had to wait in the car as the office was very cold and there weren’t enough chairs. We waited over an hour with no response about the approval. The receptionist advised that the procedure still hadn’t been approved so we came home. I received a call when I arrived home saying that I had canceled the procedure and did I wish to re-schedule? I was furious as I had not canceled - we left since we were told the insurance had not been approved. I had no alternative but to reschedule as the stimulator my husband had was temporary and it had now to be implanted. The surgery was scheduled for today, December 30th. The surgery center texted yesterday that we were to come at 7:15 am. The doctor’s office called mid- afternoon to say the procedure was once again canceled as the insurance still hadn’t been approved. I called the insurance company myself and they advised that they were waiting for an explanation from Dr Rivera’s office as to why they canceled the procedure on the 23rd. I was appalled to learn that the initial procedure was approved on the 23rd but no one called the surgical center to advise them or us! The insurance company gave me a number for Advanced Urology to call to rectify the situation and re-schedule for the third time what should have been done two weeks ago. I called the office today to speak to the office manager Nancy Denis but was refused. Then asked to speak to the scheduling department to given them the number but was refused by Zac who then asked me to explain the dilemma - which I did since I now had no choice. I gave him the number for United Healthcare and asked that someone confirm asap - he just said thanks for the number and hung up. I have never experienced such an inept group of people in my life. I don’t care how many accolades Dr Rivera has received - his reputation is being destroyed by the incompetence of his staff. Really like Dr. Rivera. OFFICE WAITING AREA IS PACKED AND I FELT UNSAFE IN THIS AGE OF COVID. I CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT AND LEFT. I WILL WAIT UNTIL TO SEE THE DOCTOR UNTIL I AM VACCINATED, BUT THERE ARE THOSE THAT CANNOT. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS.

it’s always a pleasure to visit Dr Rivera, he is a knowledgeable doctor who gives options to the different treatments you need he is very patient and caring , my husband and I are patients and we both feel safe under his care

I had a hysterectomy done at NCH and my GYN perforated my bladder. Dr. Rivera was the person in charge to fix up the problem. He took the time to explain the procedure to me while I was going through excruciating pain and made sure I had the proper follow up. 6 months after I have no problems and can go back to my regular routine. He cares about patients and worries about their outcomes. Will recommend him for sure.

Dr seems to be very good however in 3 appointments , the front desk staff has somehow lost his insurance card information. This is extremely frustrating.

Don't bother, they can't even answer calls. Recording says will call back in 24 hours. To date it has bee n 3 days. When you call and DO get a person to answer they cut you off before you can finish.

Unless you don't mind waiting all day to see this doctor, things will turn out fine. Doctor Rivera guarantees "same day" service. Please keep in mind that his office hours are from 8 am to 5 pm most weekdays. Therefore, you might wait as many as 9 hours in order to see this doctor. Dr. Rivera made a poor business decision. He has decided to allow his business to expand at the cost of being unable to offer enough time for each patient, new or old, to get the care all patients deserve!!

Would not recommend him. Had a implant put in and went throw Hell with pain. Had to get it removed and spent 6 weeks from Infections treatment at NCH.

My son had an emergency procedure performed. Dr. Rivera was kind, explained everything clearly and made us all feel comfortable with what was happening during and after the surgery.

I would recommend Dr. Rivera very highly........I have been a patient for a few years now and all of my experiences have been totally without problems. Until yesterday when I had a regular 3 mo. appt. re: my pessary, and my dr. asst. was Betsy as Nicole was on maternity leave. During the catheter exam for a urine sample, it was the worst ever. Very painful. I bled all the way home to the keys. I will be back but .......... Sorry but I was not a happy traveler
