Dr. Smith is a very good doctor , I have been seeing him since 2004 and he always comes through for me . If you want the best, you want him .

Dr. Smith is such a great listener. He listens then he addresses the issue I come in for. I have been coming to Dr. Smith for several years. I am 64 and have joint issues. He always makes my life better after a visit. I highly recommend Dr. Smith.

Unfortunately, I had an accident this summer and caused a spiral tib/fib fracture. I am very grateful that Dr. Smith was available to perform the necessary surgery to repair my leg. I felt like I was in the good hands of a skilled surgeon from the beginning and I was right. My recovery is a long one, but it has gone very smoothly and I'm thankful for the care I've recieved. The wait to see him was long but I was told they were short staffed. I’ve seen him several times over the last 10 years and he was always great!

Dr. Smith was very personable and help explain what my main problem was with my pain. He was very happy to offer physical therapy which is my option for now.

This was my first appointment with Dr Smith, he was pleasant and reviewed my X-rays of my hip. I was there because my hip felt like it was not in the socket because I have times of instability. He didn’t find anything wrong. I got set up with the only Dr at OrthoCarolina that has no people skills. I am going to my pain management for the shot. Anyway he did say my left hip was bone on bone and there is a suspicious black spot on my bone. Dr. Scott Smith is an excellent orthopedic surgeon who really cares about his patients and their concerns. He replaced my hip in 2015 and recently my shoulder. I'm 6 weeks out from a complete shoulder replacement and so far doing very well. The Physical Therapists are excellent practitioners and have really helped me along the way. I was very pleased with my experience with Dr. Smith. Dr. Smith is truly amazing! It was great to be treated with professionalism and care. I saw Dr Smith about my knee this week. I knew that surgery was probably going to be the result so I had a lot of questions. He was patient and answered all of my questions and told me what my part in healing would be. I have to stop smoking to aid in healing- cold Turkey. Wish me luck :)

Twenty years ago I was treated by Dr. Smith for a serious shoulder injury and it was the best medical experience I've had to date. This time it was a knee problem that was disabling me. Same as always He listened without any in eruption then He ask his questions and discussed the options with me and we decided on what to do. Dr. Smith discussed all of my surgery options with me and helped me make the right decision for my life style. I would describe Dr. Smith as a master surgeon! Went to the office for hip pain, went in understanding that I have severe arthritis in my hip. The doctor made a few off colored comments about my health that were both offensive and unprofessional. One of them was, ”you got a bum deal for your hip at your age and I wouldn't want to deal with that if I were you”. When I inquired about pain medicine, he became more crass. Rather than providing objective feedback, his dialogue felt like an insulting opinion. When it comes to my health, it's top priority and I'll work with professionals who exhibit more couth and compassion.

When selecting a surgeon, “personality” is not anywhere near the top of my list.
