Dr. Sonya Nadine Bethel

Absolutely awful experience. She does not care about her patients at all. We’re just income to her. I was complaining of numbness all down my arms and legs. All she did was send me for a neck x-ray and went the results came back mostly normal. She is pretty much like, your good now right? I just said yes, I’m great don’t worry about it. She clearly has no idea what she is doing or any care for her patients. This after being charged absurd amounts because she bills everything in the way that makes the most income. Every visit is a new visit with new symptoms. Don’t bother trying to argue with the billing department. They have outsourced billing. I’m pretty sure it obvious why. I’d give 0 stars if possible. Under no circumstances, visit this doctor.

I am a military retiree who has been with many doctors due to military transfers. Then I retired and one bad experience with a primary care physician, and then a good one for perhaps 20 years. I am now 89, widowed, and living alone with a need tofr a primary care physician is who first rate since, as one might suspect, I'm ' issue laden'. I believe is referrals from Credible people, particularly physicians. My cardiologist recommended Dr. Bethel. It been well about three years now, during which I have also had to see in addition to my cardiologist, an allergist, dermatologist, neurologist, physical therapist, gastroenterologist, urologist, pulmonologist, orthopod, opthamologist, and and a retinologist. In that mix a a stopped to experience a quadruple bypass. two weeks before my 86th birthday. If anyone need an ace primary doctor to direct all that traffic and keep me healthy enough to carrry on the good life I have been given, it is Sonja Bethel MD. She's the complete package professional and human being.

She also ran multiple unnecessary tests on me. I felt that I was up charged at this office. I would not recommend Sonya Bethel for any women's health related issue.

Similar to another reviewer, I found Dr. Bethel's bedside manner to be less than pleasing. I've had 2 appointments, at each visit she starts by inquiring as to why I come to her as I live in Maryland and 'don't you want to find a doctor closer to your home'. I want to tell her YES but you are in my network. It's an odd question because she can certainly set her options to not take new patients so my guess is that she has a bias against marylanders or people of my type (I'll leave that to interpretation). On the second visit I was a few minutes late---within her window-- but her receptionist alerted me to the fact that I was late and she was unsure as to if Dr. Bethel would see me. It was odd because during my first visit I waited almost 30 minutes to be seen. My guess is that her time is more valuable than mine (smh). For over 2 months I have been trying to get a prescription refill; today I received a message from the pharmacist that she had denied my request, Bottom line- I finally get it--she isn't interested in being my physician. Duh- I guess I am slow. See Dr. Bethel at your risk-she certainly seems to have better things to do than be a doctor.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Bethel for a few years now. She is very professional, knowledgeable and really cares about the health of her patients.

I have seen this physician twice, once for myself and the other was with a family member. Both times, she felt like either she was having a bad day or just wanted to brush me off. She was not a good listener, smirked at the medical problems my family member had when i asked her what is wrong with the labs, she said 'everything is wrong' with a smile on her face. She rushed us out. I understand every patient gets 15 minutes of an appt but if the patient requires more attention, he/she shouldn't be rushed. I don't write reviews, EVER but this physician is not someone i would see ever again or have my family member see because of her attitude.

I have never before heard my wife come back from a doctor visit, raving about the doctor. My wife learned today that she had slipped through menopause so easily that neither of us were really sure she was in it. Others attribute that to all the yoga she does, and all her study of yoga over her decade of teaching.
