Dr. Stephen Lyle Britt

Can’t recommend. I’m 27 and have been having severe acid reflux. Hida scan showed poor gallbladder function. I requested to Dr. Britt twice that I get an endoscopy prior to surgery, and he assured me there’s no reason I would need one. Even after months of very painful reflux. Assured me that removing my gallbladder would fix all my problems. Long story short, reflux got worse post surgery but he cut me off before I could tell him so in our post op follow up a couple weeks later. I’m 6 months post surgery and still have the same intense reflux. Thankfully have started to see a GI doctor where I live now and recently was given guidance on medication and received an endoscopy. They were shocked I didn’t have one prior to being operated on. Still paying off the surgery that didn’t help. But I’m sure he got paid all the same. Make sure to get a second opinion if he recommends surgery without looking at other causes.

Dr. Britt seems very nice and I’m sure is skilled at performing surgery. I’m 27 and was dealing with severe acid reflux. They ran the HIDA and it indicated my gallbladder wasn’t working barely at all. I don’t doubt that. I asked on two separate occasions for an endoscopy, and was assured by him very emphatically that after my surgery, my reflux would go away. He assured me that I would be able to eat anything I wanted the day after. I am 6 months out of surgery with the same acid reflux. It was considerably worse until I came to a GI doc in bham. This doc in bham was shocked that an endoscopy hadn’t been done. In my follow up, Dr. Britt asked me how I was doing and as I was trying to say that my reflux was still very painful, he cut me off and assured me that it would completely resolve itself in the coking weeks. He told me whatever he could to make me get the surgery and then refused to listen afterwards. Would absolutely not recommend

Wonderful doctor and nursing staff. They care completely for you and your we'll being. Could not ask for a better a Dr or nursing staff. I'd recommend them to any body and everybody.

Dr. Britt and staff have been helpful with my concerns. Pre and post operations have been successful with positive outcomes. I highly recommend using this surgeon if you are in need of care.

Dr Britt has given my wife and me the best of his surgical skills and after surgery care. His caring attitude and follow up concerns are at the top of the list for reasons that I can recommend Dr Britt and his supportive staff!

It was a little longer than we anticipated but it was well worth the wait!! Everyone took really good care of my son and I during his scheduled surgery. Dr Britt was amazing and knowledgeable. Thanks again!!

I have had several operations in my 76 years this dr Britt was the most professional dr I ever had. He went through every aspect of my surgery I am very pleased

Friendly, attentive, and spends time explaining procedures. Always has time to talk about any questions or concerns.

Very good doctor

The staff is very nice

Dr. Britt is an amazing surgeon and very soft spoken. He has treated me great and if I have to see a General Surgeon, in the future, I would gladly see him again.

Dr. Britt preformed surgery on me to remove my gallbladder. There were some complications, but he handled my surgery well. He answered all my questions and made sure my pain was managed while I was in the hospital. All in all he was an excellent doctor.

He has no bedside manner and is not a good doctor rude
