Dr. Sumita Chandran

I've been going there for almost three years. Dr, Chandran is very patient and caring. Her staff are very helpful. This is the best doctor I have ever had . I feel truly blessed to deal with such caring people.

I have the utmost respect for Dr. Chandran and her staff. Professionalism with care. They never rush you. Dr Chandran answers all my questions without rushing and her knowledge of disease process is optimum. Her staff are very caring and communication between Stagg and Dr Chandran is excellent. I would never change MD.

Best Dr I have had in plant city. Caring ,thorough, explains everything to me very clearly without rushing and I usually have loads of questions. I know I am not an easy person but Dr Chandran takes her time to answer all my questions. She also has her staff call me to remind me to get my mammograms,pap,etc yearly. Being an internal Medicine MD she is very knowledgeable in diseases. But if I had to say what I like most is that she is very thorough and that to me is the most important factor in a MD(I am a retired RN ) She knows her stuff. Because of the times that we are in now, masks are required in many places especially in MD offices that care about their staff and patients. I wear my mask and follow her office guidelines. As I do when I go to my cardiologist office . She is courteous n caring and smart what more can I ask for. Best Dr I have had in plant city. Dr Chandran was rude and told me to get another PCP. Why? Because I took my mask down (not off) while I was alone in the exam room!! Said I was rude and didn’t care about her. I mentioned I was alone I. The room and now we were 6ft apart and not to be so upset. I put my mask back, mentioned that masks really don’t prevent virus. She told me to get a job at CDC. Then she got up and said “you haven’t been a patient for too long, so find another PCP or reschedule bc I can’t see you under these circumstances” then she walked out of room and left me there! To top thing even more the front office are very rude and to get referrals was a nightmare! I had to call and call and call every month for the same Doctor I see every month! It’s sad when Doctors treat patients with no empathy or even caring about their health. She didn’t give me my bloodwork results, even as I asked for her to do so. I left so stressed that I had a heart attack within couple days. She didn’t care about my medical conditions only cared about a mask rule I. Her office. I have optimum insurance and i see Dr Sumita Chandran. 1 am 64 yrs old and have multiple serious health issues. I am originally from N.Y and all my doctors were from either lennox hill hospital or New york-presbyterian hospital columbia and cornell. I only went to the best. for years i have been looking for a primary doctor that could meet the standard of health care that I was accustomed to. I finally found that expertise and level of knowledge and care in Dr Chandran. She is a great asset to Verimed. Thus far , her staff have always been polite and professional . they frequently do follow-up calls make sure i comply with eye exams, gyn exams , etc . She monitors blood tests which she does throughout the year. They monitor preventative care compliance which is important. my previous doctor did none of these things. i am very happy with this medical office staff and doctor.

Dr chandran is wonderful but the front desk and referral nurse, Kathy, are the reasons for the one star review. Kathy is rude. Won't refax a referral and wants my elderly mom to come get paperwork and deliver to ortho Dr.. Yelled at my mom and told her flat no. She said she faxed it right the first time and won't do it again. Front desk girls grill patients on why they are calling before allowing them to leave voice mail for the nurse or Dr. Unprofessional all the way.

Dr Chandran is a caring, knowledgeable physician. Her staff are helpful and kind. We have been patients for 3 or more years and ate very happy with the care we recieve.
