Excellent care

Dr. Newland is worth the drive from Greenville, SC. Friendly staff.

We have seen Dr Newland for years he has extreme knowledge of the eyes and if anything is wrong he will let you know. He is extremely kind and for all the young ladies in the office they are very helpful. Thank you Dr ????????????????????????????

I’m not pleased with the events of my surgery, nor my aftercare, nor my results. I was permanently blinded in one eye. No one at this practice seems to care. His nurse, April, who is the most kind and sweet person was our go-between and was always helpful.

Dr Newland and staff are wonderful. They take time to explain everything and answer your questions without rushing you through the appointment. Very professional and thorough which is very reassuring that your eye sight is in good hands.

I was check in with no trouble. Had a little wait before being called back. The lady took me back n we got through the Frist phase of the exam with no trouble.When I saw Dr Newland he was great. He explained me lazy eye to me like no other Dr has done. He told he he could help me see a little better out of the eye while the other Des told me other wise. I will go back to him in a heart beat. Professional and caring staff, prompt aned courteous service.

Great first time experience!!! Registered online, friendly staff, little wait time, thorough exam, awesome Dr. Newland, and all ready scheduled for next appointment!!!

Actually, it was my husband, Wendell (Bud), who saw Dr. Newland. He was very pleased with his examination. When Dr. Newland addressed his cataract issue, and set up surgery to correct it, that was a huge plus.

Always professional and courteous. The staff handled the grumpy old man with finess. He was sitting in the waiting room slinging slurs at the wait time. It is a shame that people cannot be nice and understand that Covid19 has messed everyone up.

As always my husband and I have been going to see Dr. Newland for the last three years. Everyone is a joy to work with for our eye care.

After over a decade I am still very blessed to be a patient at Carolina Eyecare Physicians. Surgery scheduled for catarac removal. Always check medications and is very kind, respectful employees. God bless Dr. Newland, Dr. Braun and the entire staff.

Compassionate professional Awsome attitudes

I had an upper eye lift in March of 2019 at the age of 38 because I was unhappy with the drooping of my upper lid over my lower lids. Worst mistake I made was not going to a plastic surgeon who would take the time and delicate attention needed. Dr. Newland told me he was going to be "aggressive" and he certainly was. The day of surgery, I felt like herded cattle. Before surgery, I waited for three hours to be called back. Once in my cubbie hole of a spot, as there were numerous patients with dividers between our beds, Dr. Newland greeted me very briefly (all of four seconds maybe) and told me again he was going to "be aggressive!". I woke up during surgery (under general anesthetics) and told him that I could feel what he was doing and it hurt. His response was, "I'm almost done" as he finished suturing up my left eye. My eyes were swollen and painful for months. Around day four, I had began calling his office because my stitches had come open on both eyes and I was very afraid that I was going to have terrible scarring (which I do anyway) and asked if Dr. Newland could stitch the gap in my eyelid back together. He was out of office, and no other doctor was allowed to intervene, so his nurse used tape to keep my eyelid together until Dr. Newland could stitch me up the next day. I have waited 8 months to write this review in the hope that my eyes would end up looking normal, better, or at least not so bad. Has not happened yet as you can see in the pictures -one eye has loose skin so it looks like I have an extra crease in my eyelid, and the other is not straight at all, has loose skin, bad scarring. NIGHTMARE. And to make it even worse, every month I am reminded of this horrible choice of a surgeon that I made when i get my Care Credit bill in the mail. This botch job costs me over $3,000! I want my money back! Moral of story - if you are having an upper eye lift (blepharoplasty) because of medical reasons and your insurance is paying for it, take your chances with Dr. Newland. Both my parents did and they were overall satisfied. However, if you have to pay for this out of pocket and are doing it because you want to look better, go to a real plastic surgeon. Expensive!

Dr. Newland was very informative and patient with my questions. His staff is top notch and professional. He had a lot of patients but in the waiting room. The patients seemed to be happy as they were there for something relating to catracts.

My grandson had a horrible experience while having surgery for styes. Dr. Newland was in too big a hurry to wait for the numbing injections to take effect and starting making incisions causing intense pain. Additional injections were also ineffective and he continued with the surgery with no numbing. He told the young man to stop jerking and screaming instead of taking the time to determine why he was causing so much pain. Dr. Newland apparently didn't want other patients and associates to hear

Absolute marvelous care. My 89 year old mother had a corneal transplant last year 2015. It's almost a year now, no rejection, no problems, seeing better than ever. Thanks to Dr. Grice and her staff.
