Thomas A Taft

Dr. Taft is a star in my book. He partners with his patients, takes all the time needed to insure questions are asked and that the information provided is understandable and complete. He also often prints out articles for you to take home to learn more. He works well with other doctors and partnered with my orthopedic surgeon to insure the best outcome. For the first time in my life I had successful surgeries (knee replacements) without post-surgical infections. He's got a great sense of humor too, which makes visits enjoyable.

Too many jokes not enough medical expertise.

Dr. Taft is an amazingly astute infectious disease physician. I’m grateful for all that he has done for my family, relatives, friends and neighbors to date. P.S. There is a reason (with good intentions) Dr. Taft takes time to share a joke with his patients and others. “Laughter is the best medicine.”

Had been seeing Dr. Taft for a chronic infection. At first he comes across as "somewhat" knowledgable but it is overshadowed by his constant joke telling and bragging about himself. After seeing him for quite a while my infections NEVER resolved and the last visit I had with him he seemed to be very imcompetent with any recommendations. He is never available to talk to outside of an appointment. He is quick to brush off a patient and tell them to go the emergency room if they are having a problem even when he tells you to call him when you have a problem. He can tell all the jokes in the world, but as it turned out, he was the joke!!! I DO NOT recommend him or his practice.

He was fantastic when I had to deal with viral encephalitis about 6 yeara ago. Good communication and very professional.

Dr. Taft is AMAZING!!! I have been treated by him for 3 very serious infections over the last 6 years and I can't say enough good things about him. He is so caring and puts you at such great ease with his sense of humor. I can't thank him enough or give him a better review beyond AMAZING!!!

I am so impressed with Dr. Taft , Infectious Disease Specialist. Highly specialized, knows his area of expertise, easy to talk to, caring and really is highly trained, I enjoy his openness and honesty, and personally I could not have been in better hands when he explained to me what my options were, and was oh, so caring and a great doctor who knows best what I needed to get through some pretty rough areas of infectious disease I had contracted. Negative 60 - my husband was in hospital and his leg was getting worse and nurse paged him 4 times to come in on July 2nd. He ignored all the pages and when the charge nurse gave his direct phone number to our nurse to call him and told hi m what was going on and that we wanted him to come in he said he would not come in till tomorrow. She said we were worried about his leg and were thinking about moving to Froedert Hospital and his answer to her was" tell them good luck" and he still hasn't been heard from but other Dr's that actually care about their patients have been here to take up his slack. Dr. Taft was great and was the only Dr. to figure out my infection. He is truly a great Dr. and a cool guy to boot, he saved my life.

Absolutely the finest doctor I have ever met. What a great man. Exceptional doctor. He needs some new jokes. (Just kidding). Things like this make him special. He saved my daughters life. I owe him so much. Thank God for Dt. Taft.

The Winter of 2013/2014 was a very difficult time for me....I praise the day Dr. Taft walked into my hospital room....angels were behind him....he literally did save my life. His supportive, communicative and empathetic attitude gave me hope. and was so kind....his bedside manners are commendable. I so highly recommend him to anyone.
