Dr. Timothy Scott Maughon

Dr. Scott Maughon worked on my knee this time. He is very friendly. He also is very good. He explains what he is going to do and does it.

Dr. Maughon answered all my questions, explained everything in detail, and I felt confident that I was in good hands. After elbow surgery I have had little to no pain. Dr. Maughon is the best – would recommend him to everyone. Cooper is great too!

Dr. Maughon is a very competent, caring and knowledgeable doctor. He made sure that I understand what my problem was, the resolution options, and that I was comfortable with everything before moving forward with any treatment.

Dr. Maughon gave poor advice in performing shoulder replacement surgery when I had two torn rotator tendons. Months after surgery I told him that things were not right with my shoulder both based upon my subjective experience and feedback from physical therapists, but he denied any problems. Eventually three other surgeons advised me the implant was not installed correctly. Revision surgery revealed the two torn tendons and a loose humeral implant . The new surgeon performed a reverse implant which should have been done initially. Dr. Maughon can’t do those.

Everything was great and straight forward. No details left out and they make you feel at ease and comfortable when your approaching surgery. Cooper though he better never get rid of. You have no choice but to be happy and in a good mood around her. For my first surgery definitely give it an A+ experience!!!!!!!!

The best! A GREAT surgeon. He repaired my torn miniscus -- a severe tear -- so well that it has never bothered me again. Then referred me to BIG (Back in the Game) for physical therapy. Awesome! I would highly recommend

everyone in this practice is caring and so very efficient. Dr Maughon sets the tone for high standards, and this is evident throughout the practice. Cooper, Dr Maughon's PA is a dream. I never felt like she thought my questions were silly. She responded quickly to any need I had. I would highly recommend Dr Maughon for any orthopedic needs.

Dr. maughon was such an impressive doctor as well as his staff. His surgical ability is flawless as he has done my husbands 2 shoulder surgeries.. delicate at best.. hardly any pain. I would highly recommend Dr Maughon to anyone. A Grant

My surgery went very well. The nerve block lasted almost 4 days. I was able to do my recovery without any opiates. My PT also told me I'm way ahead of the norm for mobility only a week after surgery. Very pleased!

Excellent surgeon - Dr. Maughon has worked on my ankles, knees, and shoulder over the past several years and has done several surgical repairs. He is very efficient in the office and he works very well with the other members of his team. He will often inquire about my the progress of past repairs he has been involved in, in addition to the issue at hand during the visit. I can reach someone when needed and the office response time has been very quick. My wait times have been minimal. Scheduling appointments and surgeries has been prompt.

Would definitely recommend Dr. Maughon. He is professional, friendly, readily answers questions and I have had a wonderful outcome from my knee surgery.

Dr. Maughon has performed two knee surgeries, 12 years apart, an ankle, a shattered collarbone, and a rotator cuff repair. In every case My surgery went breat and I recovered fully. He has also recommended non-surgical treatments for my knee, which has a torn meniscus, so I truly know he has the patients best interest at heart.

Dr Maughon showed a lot of care and concern for my injury. He explained the surgery in detail and made sure all of my questions were answered. His staff was incredibly helpful and efficient getting my appointments and follow up questions taken care of.

More than excellent surgeon...everything went first class and I am amazed at my surgical area. His plastic surgery training left my shoulder surgery area looking very good. He did a super excellent job on my shoulder. I highly recommend Dr Maughon .

I have been a patient of Dr. Maughon's for well over twenty years; he has performed arthroscopic surgery on my knee, rotator cuff surgery, and a full knee replacement. I have always admired his no nonsense, straightforward approach to the patient's needs. Additionally, his approach is always conservative-starting with the least invasive therapies(e.g..rest, exercise, physical therapy) prior to any suggestion of surgery. I highly recommend him!

He is wonderful!! He takes his time to answer questions/concerns. I believe he understands patients anxiety when coming to surgical procedures and does his best to allay any fears one might have. He is knowledgeable in his field and breaks down any information necessary to completely relate what the procedure entails and what one should expect afterwards.

Being an RN familiar with a great many doctors in the area, I chose Dr. Maughon because of his professionalism, friendliness, and superior skill as a surgeon for my surgery, and I wasn't disappointed! I have been impressed with every aspect of this doctor and the clinic, I couldn't be happier and I am very picky. The Emory Dunwoody Ambulatory Surgery Center is top notch as well. My whole experience was excellent. Thanks Emory & Dr. Maughon!!

My family has been treated by Dr. Maughon for a number of procedures from Rotator Cuff surgery to Carpal Tunnel. We were treated with respect and top notch service. His friendly straight forward demeanor gave me the confidence that he was looking out for me as a patient, giving me all the information I needed to make the correct decision for my treatment. I have recommended him and his practice to family, friends and others and will continue to do so. Have been with him at least 17 years.

Extremely well run, on time, efficient and friendly office. Dr. Maughon was very helpful, kind listened to me and answered all my questions. In and out quickly too!

Very skilled surgeon with good bedside manner. However, he doesn't know his patients. He confused me with another patient on more than one occasion. Also, he told us that I needed a particular procedure done but if insurance didn't cover, he'd opt for an older method of treatment. However, during my first post surgery visit, we found out that he did both. Staff was not impressive at all. Emory seems to have turned into a money making machine rather than patient care. Just beware.

Dr. Maughon was very welcoming and warm at all of my appointments, he was kind and made sure I was clear on my diagnosis and was always ready to answer any of my questions. We discussed a course of treatment at a team but ultimately he left the decision up to me and my family. His staff was very helpful and did a follow up call the next day to see how I was doing. If a trustworthy, honest and down to earth physician is what you seek look no further.

He explains clearly what will be involved in the treatment/surgery. Is ready to answer all questions openly and puts you - the patient - completely at ease.

Dr. Maughon is an excellent surgeon. I think he and his staff should try hard not to keep the patients waiting too long. He seems rushed all the time--perhaps he's forced to see too many patients in a day. I believe that he could spend more time getting to know his patients to make them feel better about visiting his office. He loves being in surgery, but may be excited about spending adequate time with his patients in his office.

Dr,. Maughon is an outstanding surgeon and operated on my knee and both of my husbands knees. We both highly recommend him to friends and family.

He misdiagnosed my condition. He missed my fracture. This caused me severe problems to say the least.

Interested in the star or current athletes - otherwise, good luck. There is nothng worse than waiting over an hour to be seen (all while you hear him chatting about SEC football or whatever non health related issue to the star athlete in the next room) and then he comes in, does not apologize and wants to rush you out in 60 seconds. This happened more than once.
