After initial consult with Dr. Cooney to go over Mako Robotic knee arthroplasty surgery, I was confident that I had made a good decision. Dr. Cooney and P.A. Eric Crouch answered all of my questions and I felt as though they genuinely care for their patients and are thorough. I am looking forward to my first of two total knee replacement surgeries with Dr. Cooney and getting back to a more active life. Thank you Dr. Cooney and P.A. Fabulous surgeon, total left knee replacement couldnt be happier with the pre-op, surgery or recovery or staff by staff. Will be getting right total knee done later this year by him and his team. Hes a rock star.

Dr. Cooney always takes the time to explain what’s wrong, how to treat the problem, and never is wrong, at least not in my case! I’d refer him to anyone who asks!

Approximately 30 yrs ago, I was diagnosed with a synovial sarcoma of the left hand and after doing primary surgery in Stillwater Minnesota, I was diagnosed and sent to male clinic in Rochester Minnesota where I met and conferred with Dr. Connie and several other doctors and another surgeon. Dr. Cooney had removed more of the tumor that had been found and after receiving chemotherapy and radiation doctor Cooney again did surgery on my hand. He had attempted to do tendon transfers of my long finger, But I have to say Dr. Cooney is an incredible surgeon and was able to save my hand from amputation. 30 years later I am still cancer free

The entire team was pleasant, professional and worked together well, surgery was smooth.

UPDATED - SEE BELOW. Very knowledgeable and attentive to my needs. Spent a lot of time getting to know my medical history and special needs/circumstances. They made me feel very comfortable. Also pleasant office and friendly staff. ************************************* UPDATE. My initial review was based on my interaction with the PA. and staff. Since my review above, I needed a CT scan and while talking to the technician I learned that Clooney was associated with a former surgeon (different office) that had performed poorly in a prior surgery of mine. I had already shared my experience with the CT technician who then brought my opinion about that other doctor to Cooney’s attention. Cooney’s whole attitude and demeanor with me changed. Cooney became a jerk with almost manic behavior, including asking me inappropriate questions. I requested a copy of my CT scan on a disk, and Cooney became further anxious, began to stutter and tried to stall, but eventually turned it over. I just wanted the disk and to leave, with no intention of returning. Completely unacceptable behavior.

Total Knee replacement surgery very thorough pre operative information and education. Surgery went great just dealing with the post op fall out but Dr Cooney and staff there for recovery plan and support. Very satisfied at this point.

Dr Cooney replaced both of my knees 3 years ago and they have been a complete success I do exercise them to keep them in good shape. Within the last couple months I have had complete shoulder replacements. Once again I can do anything with them and swing a golf club with absolutely no trouble. Thank you so very much for your great surgery’s and also being the best surgeon I could have hoped for. Dr. Cooney and his team are a well oiled machine. You can tell communication is priority. I needed help with my hip and had results the next day. It was important to me, and the team made it happen. Have scheduled hip surgery for Feb 2023 and have peace with Dr Cooney at the helm.

My name is Craig Mischke, I have owned and work a construction company for more then 25 years. I suffered for five years with a hip needing replacement and was 52 at the time I went into meet Dr. Cooney to talk about my options. He shared his experience and point of view of how he looks at what he does (a surgeon) in relation to his understanding of the world around him. He was very direct and to the point, telling me that it wasn’t a matter of “if” but “when”. Meaning he could do the replacement now considering the condition my hip was in. A week later I set up a date. I told him I only have three weeks to recover and get back to work as my hip was a tool I needed to do my job. He told me confidently that I would be. The nurse want so sure lol, but I was back to full time work on the day of the third week after the surgery. It’s a scary thing to get a part of your body replaced, but Dr. Cooney and his surgical staff were a amazingly well orchestrated team from the moment I stepped through the doors. It was great to find out that all aspects of my procedure will be handled in one place from consult and xrays to classes, the surgery and on to PT. Dr. Cooney was straight forward and honest. He was very busy but apologetic which was appreciated. I'm happy I chose orthopedic and spine of the rockies and Dr. Cooney.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cooney’s for a few yrs now and he has done 2 knee surgeries and a shoulder surgery on me. He is amazing!! He is so kind and listens and gives you options and doesn’t just want to do surgery right away. Also, his PA Eric Crouch was amazing and very tentative and knowledgeable. The surgery schedule team is amazing as well. They are very tentative and call you right away. You don’t feel like just a number or Hurd of cattle when you go to this office. ???? My Surgery went exactly as Dr Cooney said it would, I wouldn't wish Quadracep reattachment Surgery on anyone, but Dr Cooney did a great job.

FROC is my go-to clinic. Over the years had fixed here the following; broken ankle, arthritic shoulder, carpal tunnel surgery, and most recently, bursitis hip. PAs are very nice, Drs are proficient and friendly. Drs., Leonard, Pater and Cooney are first rate. Awesome people there. Staff has always been great as well.

After having shoulder pain for quite some time it was quite the relief to meet with Dr. Cooney and his team. Thorough, friendly, knowledgeable, we'll staffed with all resources on site. They operated together like a well oiled machine. I feel hopeful and thankful to have such a great group to help me.

Front range is the best place ive been to. The people are very friendly and helpful. They explain everything every step of the way. I had my right hip replaced in june and i feel it changed my life. Dr. Cooney is a great dr and im glad he took care of my problem. I highly reccomend this place to anyone.

Dr. Cooney is a miracle worker! One of the best orthopedic hip surgeons in the area! He took on my one of a kind unique total hip replacement and I'm walking and riding my bike and back to normal! After i was once told i would possibly never walk again! Thanks so much Dr. Cooney!

Dr. Cooney did a fantastic job of explaining what was showing on my MRI and explained to the nth degree why the surgery I wanted was a good fit for my situation. Very professional. I would highly recommend him and his facility.

I was very lucky Dr. Cooney was the Dr. that did surgery on my femur. It was a bad break. He pieced my bones back together during a very complicated surgery. It's been a long process but I'm finally able to walk. All of the people including the staff have been wonderful, making my office visits enjoyable. It's easy to get discouraged when your body doesn't function like it used to but everyone there is very friendly and have been more than happy to answer all of my questions and help me get through my concerns. Dr. Cooney did a total replacement of my left knee. Everything went to plan, from prep to surgery to PT. I’m three months into recovery, and continue to feel steady improvement and increased use of the knee. Dr Cooney has a great team and I would recommend them to anyone needing orthopedic treatment.

Dr. Cooney did a complete knee replacement for me and its been amazing! My new knee feels great, and I am so happy I committed to the surgery and to have such an awesome doctor. Surgery follow-up

Supremely knowledgeable, works very hard to be thorough and attentive for the patient.

I was worked into see dr Cooney the day I called for my condition. He was very through in reviewing my condition and informing me of possible prognosis. Condition return and again I was scheduled immediately and my re-evaluation and treatment w Has begun. The whole staff was very concerned, professional and caring.

Dr. Cooney reattached my torn bicep to my forearm in 2012 and I had a fast and complete recovery. Eight years later, I tore my other bicep and had him repair it as well. Again, the surgery was successful, and I was back to living my life in full after a normal recovery period. Both experiences exceeded my expectations as Dr. Cooney and staff held my best interests at heart. Everyone in the office was very pleasant and they cared about how I was feeling while working to get me repaired and recovered. I am thankful to have worked with the professional staff at Front Range Orthopedics. I would return, knowing I will receive quality treatment and a complete recovery to get back to living an active life.

I did a lot of research for knee surgeons and I’m so glad I ended up working with Dr. Cooney. I had a lot of pain in my right knee and ended up having an arthroscopy (after months of PT that resulted in more pain). He found a variety of issues during my scope and now I feel amazing. Dr. Cooney was very straightforward which I appreciated. He also wanted to make sure I managed my expectations. I feel really lucky to have found a surgeon I could completely trust and was an expert in his field.

I'm 13 days total hip post op. THRILLED so far. I've had some level of pain for quite some time so am super excited about this recovery. I would and have recommended Dr. Cooney to anyone looking for a no nonsense extraordinary orthopedic surgeon and team.

Good experience. Good explanation of what was going on with my hip. No complaints with the doctor or technicians who assisted him, but had long waits with just sitting in the office between visits of all the above people. For example, after being ushered into room, long wait for technician, then someone came in and told me to put on shorts, which only took me one minute at the most- then waited 15-20 minutes for x-ray person, and on and on. After doctor saw me another long wait for scheduler. I realize it is impossible to have everyone free at the same time, but the waits seem excessive. Good experience. My right hip replacement 6 months ago was amazing, from Dr. Cooney's procedure to the fabulous UHC staff to my quick recovery. He and his staff (especially Sybil) were very professional and kind and answered all my questions of which were quite a few as I had done a lot of research. I had expected to be in much more pain than I was. I was up and walking ONE HOUR after surgery, and was told to walk walk walk after I got out which I did. I was soon up to walking 2 miles. I didn't even have PT. I was driving about ten days later and back at work in a few weeks. All in all I must say I know where I am going to get my other hip replaced when the time comes!
