Dr. William Barry Humeniuk

I was referred to Dr. Humeniuk by my newborn daughter's pediatrician. Before her appointment, I confirmed with the office that they had received her ultrasounds. Before being seen today at our appointment, I asked the receptionist to request that the doctor wear a mask while examining my baby because FLU and RSV have been at an all-time high. After waiting an entire hour to be seen, I overheard the receptionist update the doctor on my mask request. His response was, "are you serious"? He then proceeded to walk into the exam room without a mask! When asking him to please wear one, he questioned why! When I explained my reasoning and that, as her MOTHER, I would prefer it, he very unprofessionally scoffed, rolled his eyes, and walked out. When returning with his mask, I reluctantly continued with our exam just to be asked why I was there with my daughter. It was clear that he had not viewed her chart at all! To top it all off, they did not have the ultrasound I called about earlier in the week. The receptionist lied about receiving it. I wasted 2 hours in this office with a newborn with zero answers to my daughter's health concerns! Dr. Humeniuk is unprofessional, has a horrible bedside manner, and has very little respect for women. His staff is clearly in over their head in running his office. If you enjoy long waits, being spoken to rudely, mansplained, and your request blatantly disregarded, he's the perfect doctor! If I could give a -5 star review he would have it.

Omgoodness! I have no idea who they have working/answering the office phones. But this young lady was nothing less than rude. I was trying to make an appointment for my son (NEW patient appointment). I just had to let her know that because of her rude attitude and impatience with me I would be searching out a different orthopedic doctor. They should be ashamed having someone this this representing their office.

It strongly feeled that Dr. Humminick was a professional in his field. I've been consulting for my friend about his scoliosis and received tone of information and advise. Definately a doctor with vast experience and knowledge. He also offered to email him any questions or MRA's in future in case if I missed anything so he could provide his opinion. Dr Humenuik has treated several members of my family and has done knee surgery for my daughter. He is the most thorough Dr I have ever been to. He is never rushed and takes the time to fully explain everything.

As a surgeon in practice for 25 years, I have the opportunity to be highly selective when it comes to my medical care. Dr. Humeniuk is kind, personable, knowledgeable, and highly capable. Horrible experience for my wife and son, doctor was very rude with them, please do not go there, it is really bad and not polite at all.

Absolute fantastic bed side manners. Very thorough and spends the time you need. I crushed my foot and he did a miracle on repair.

Caring, attentive, and well informed doctor. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and answer your questions. If you have EDS I would highly reccomend giving him a try.

He has been everything we.hoped to find- he is not one to rush to a conclusion, but he also believes his patients and works to find a solution. Oh, bring a book. And a chill pill- yes, you will wait. Dr. Humeniuk & staff have been great with my daughter. We have received excellent care and options of treatment. My daughter (13) ended up needing surgery and that also went very well. I have no complaints here!

Let me tell you a little bit about this doctor! It took us 17 years to write about this. My grandson was born at Presbyterian Plano and the surgeon broke his leg taking him out. To save them from a lawsuit they sent us to Barry Humeniuk who told us that he has a rare bone disease called Osteopetrosis which means that his bones were brittle and it happened in the womb which was completely false and there was no research at that time on osteopetrosis. When we asked him to show us xrays with which we could compare these bones since my wife and I were in the medical field, he said their office doesn’t keep any xrays. We took him to Scottish rite and children’s in Dallas and they refuted the diagnosis completely. Furthermore he also sent our information to a hematologist who would call us and tell if my grandson has this disease then his twin sister has it too and if they don’t get bone marrow transplant done they will not survive. Seriously, one of the best doctors I’ve seen. I’m a complex case and he has been one of the only doctors to help me at all. Highly recommend if you suspect you have EDS (it is hard to find a doctor that knows about it)

Dr. Humeniuk is a very compassionate doctor that is willing to work with you on a solution/plan that works for you. He is very open to information that you bring to him instead of being dismissive. I have sent and treated many patients to and from respectively from Dr. Humeniuk. He has extensive experience and knowledge and is quite specialized dealing with medical orthopedic issues for which most orthopedists don't treat because of their time consuming nature. He and I are sole practitioners who specialize and spend time with our patients. We are not the 10 minute shop where doctors see 30-50 patients a day. Yes, it takes time to get an appointment. For those with difficult or extensive diagnosis and treatment needs, it's worth the wait. Made sure every question was answered and didn't just settle for a decision without every single detail of my condition on the table. Worth the wait time because he is soo helpful and caring and wants to ensure you feel comfortable being moving forward. Definitely recommend.

Office is horrible. My first appointment was rescheduled because Dr was on vacation. 2nd appointment waited for 45 minutes and was told I was next. Then Dr went into wrong office. No respect for my time. I walked out and suggest everyone else go somewhere that shows respect

Dr. Humeniuk is fantastic and went above and beyond to find out what was wrong with me. Instead of just assuming that my symptoms were a result of my current diagnosis, he took the time to run other tests, and found some unrelated problems. However, it is nearly impossible to get test results. I have called several times, and on the rare occasion that someone answers, I am told that they will check with him and call me back, but they never do.I will be finding another doctor with better staff.

What can I say. Dr Humeniuk is the sleeper hit of Doctors in the area. He always treats me and my family with care and attention. He is good at what he does (probably the best you will have the pleasure to be treated by) and takes pride in educating himself. I feel fortunate to have found him after my injury and where other doctors would have stopped trying he kept going and today I am nearly pain free and couldn’t be happier during a time where I thought I was going to be in pain and misery for the rest of my life. Could not speak more highly of Dr Dr Humeniuk or his staff! He spends a lot of time with me, his front office people are super and very knowledgeable too. He has found some things that have been very helpful for me in understanding my chronic pain issues and he has been conservative with his treatment recommendations and is not pushing surgery heavily. I took my son there after he broke his arm. Dr. Humeniuk was recommended to my wife by local moms. He was amazing and patient towards my son. He took the time to explain everything he was doing and I felt reassured with his ability to treat him. We were cash pay and he didn't nickel and dime us for everything. We have been seeing Dr. Humeniuk since 2005 when my 7 year old developed rapidly progressing scoliosis. Dr. Humeniuk worked with us and was very gentle and understanding to my fears as a parent and my daughter's fears as well. He gave us creative options and worked closely with monitoring her. He also discovered that my son and my daughter both had symptoms of EDS and he put us on the right path to pursue other health practitioners who could confirm his suspicions. He is my favorite doctor!

Another specialist referred us to Dr. Humeniuk-extremely pleased with his care.-daughter/I had the unfortunate experience of being overlooked by others that were too busy to take the time to provide care she needed. We were told her wrist was fine when in fact after Dr. Humeniuk looked at it he confirmed it was broken as we had suspected all along. I really had bad experience with doctor Humeniuk ,his attitude towards patient is really bad. Let me share my experience. I had the appointment early morning, I was the first patient according to the staff at the time when i took the appointment but when i went there and they put me into a room and then waited for an hour, I asked the staff why it's taking too long and they said that you are the next, waited for few more minutes but i did not have more time to wait there, so i told staff that this is not fair because you told me that i am first patient but it's not true. After 10 minutes, doctor comes in the room and asked me not to talk to me staff like this with raising figure on me , i was totally socked to see that. he started yelling on me in front my kids. I asked him, if i am late, would you take me then he said NO. He was so rude to me. He even asked me to leave but i did not leave right a way because anyways, he was going to charge for this visit. Love Dr. Humeniuk! He repaired my daughter's left shoulder after an offseason injury during volleyball back in 2013. Great bedside manner, excellent surgeon, and very compassionate. Highly recommend Dr. Humeniuk!

We have seen Dr. Humeniuk off and on for years. We have had short wait times and longer wait times. If you have to wait, it is ONLY because he is giving someone the same care and attention that you will get. I would (and have) refer him to anyone, children or adults.

Possibly the worst experience at a doctor's office I have ever had. I was stuck in a small room with my two-year-old for an hour and a half before we saw the doctor for five minutes. No one came to check on us or apologize for the wait. We showed up early as instructed by their new patient paperwork, which made the fact that our time didn't seem to matter even more frustrating. The staff couldn't figure out my co-pay either, I had to tell them what it was and still got a bill a month later for a small sum the insurance wouldn't pay. No way to pay through the mail or online, just have to go in or call... except their phone system doesn't mention paying a bill as one of the options. Just poorly run. I give Dr. Humeniuk a five star rating. It's really hard finding a doctor that lessons well and cares. Dr. Humeniuk is a thinker type doctor and will get to the bottom of your problems. Highly recommend!

My son has been a patient of Dr. HUMENIUK since 2009. My son is also a heart patient. Dr. Humeniuk is and has always been very thorough. My son has had many surgeries by Dr. Humeniuk and by his heart doctors. I wouldn't trust anyone else. I highly recommend this Dr. He has always been very good and very honest. Two of my daughters and I have been patients of Dr. Humeniuk over the past three years. We have found him extremely generous in his time - always thoroughly answering all our questions. He has expertly handled our needs from routine sports injuries to complex foot/ankle surgeries on my family. Front office is friendly and helpful. Scheduling appointments is a breeze. After multiple bad experiences with other providers, Dr. Humeniuk was a refreshing change - we would not go anywhere else.

Dr. humeniuk is a rare Doctor. He listens well and is a thinker. I would absolutely recommend this doctor. He was right on with a rare syndrome that my daughter was diagnosed with. My daughter also really liked the Doctor as well which also is very important! Five star

We have been taking our daughter to see Dr. Humeniuk for a couple of years now and she is very comfortable talking to him. As of yet we have not had a long wait time.

We don't need to visit him very often, maybe once every year. Injuries at school or playgrounds, that sort of stuff. He is a very very nice guy, takes his time to explain the conditions. Wait time varies. Most of the time you get to see him in 10-15 mins. There is a TV and some toys at the waiting area. He put comic books decor in the "smaller" waiting room for boys.
