Dr McGarvey saved my life after severe foot bone infection surgery. I will trust his surgical expertise any time and recommend him as a foot specialist wizard.

I’ve had two ankle surgeries by Dr. McGarvey. My first was an arthroscopy/microfracture/debridement/stem cells, and my second was a medial malleolus osteotomy with a donor talus allograft for an osteochondral lesion. Dr. McGarvey is an excellent surgeon and kind person. As a nurse, he was highly recommended to me by the surgeons I work with. He genuinely cares and listens, but even more important, he’s a very skilled surgeon. I trust Dr. McGarvey very much, and I’m so glad I found him to help fix my ankle! His office staff has been great as well. Getting an appointment has always been easy, and my calls have been returned promptly.

I called on yesterday to set up an appointment as a potential client and the front desk answered the phone and put me on hold for TWENTY MINUTES!!!! It would have been longer but I hung up and then called right back and they hung up on me. I called a THIRD time and chose a different option besides appointments and explained to the lady that answered what had happened. Her response was letting me know her job description and she is far from the front desk and how can she help me. I was DONE!!! I realized that I should not even attempt another chance at starting a relationship with this office and now I'm realizing had I read some of these google reviews I wouldn't have tried to in the first place!!!! Awful Bedside Manners and you are likely to see his Physician Assistant 90 percent of the time. He has to many Patients to give the best care .

Run!!!! Don’t walk. This doctor should not be working on humans. So many problems have come from this surgery.., My mother fell and broke her femur in July. He talked us into doinga full knee replacement as well. Bad idea. We are still dealing with her not being able to walk, infection, pain!, and now a second operation with another doctor because her leg was still broken after 13 weeks of rehab! And him ordering PT all while it was still broke and crumbled.., I am sick to death of doctors thinking they are Gods!!! His bedside manner was terrible and his staff was just the same. I went in to see Dennis the PA for Dr.Mcgarvey because Dr.Mcgarvey had no soon appointments. I went in with excruciating pain with arthritis in my left hip not able to walk and in crutches. He told me he would refer me out to get an MRI first. I left a little upset, to not get any type of injection to relieve some of my pain but I was patiently waiting for his staff to call me about scheduling my MRI, well it took well over 2 weeks that I had to call them back to check status. Once my MRI was scheduled I got a call that it needed precert from my insurance and it was not done by his office. Memorial Herman rescheduled it 2 more weeks later to give office time to do precert and I get a call today that it was denied. I have not received any call from his staff on what is the next step. I am a young mother and I’m suffering not able to get around to care for my kids in pain and in crutches. I called to speak to the office manager but get a call back from gentlemen I left a message that she was out for the rest of the day and she would call me Monday morning. He is one of the few doctors I have seen in this country, he dedicates time to his patients, interested in sharing the information the family members need .. he is a doctor with a lot of professional ethics .. many blessings, excellent care with my son, the first time I can say that ????

I cannot express enough what an amazing man Dr. McGarvey is. He fixed or repaired both of my achilles tendons and always was willing to take the time for any questions and or concerns. I highly recommend Dr. McGarvey hands down !

Dr. Mc Garvey is the best surgeon i have been to, beleive me I have been to quite a few since 2017. He replaced my left hip just a couple of weeks ago and I already am feeling great. Thank you Dr. McGarvey for your dedication and great work, you're the best.

The staff was very friendly along with the doctor. We made an hour trip to come here and i do not regret it.

Dr McGarvey has gone above and beyond what is expected of an orthopedic surgeon. His care and dedication to his patient is extraordinary and his ability and knowledge surpasses that of even the best physicians. I would recommend him for the most extreme surgical procedures.

Dr. McGarvey is the reason I have been able to walk for the last three years. In 2015, I had an accident that left me with an exterior (tibia and fibula) ankle fracture. After five surgeries, I still suffered from post traumatic arthritis. I was still in a boot after 8 months of therapy. I was then referred to Dr. McGarvey by my previous surgeon. He took the time to explain all of my options in depth. He performed an ankle replacement in March of 2016. 28 days after surgery, he told me I could take the boot off and walk, but I didn’t believe it was possible. I was able to walk, and have been able to do so, with hardly any pain ever since then! He is an exceptional doctor to say the least! Even at annual check-ups, he has always taken time to answer any and all of my questions. I will forever be grateful to him for giving me the gift of mobility! We put faith in Dr McGarvey's in the hopes that he would be able to help fix my husbands issues from shattering his ankle 20 years ago at age 18 He suffered daily from pain, scar tissue build up, atrophy etc. The doc was very confident that the answer to fix his problems external fixator. Hearing what he had to say about the success from previous patients give us hope! There may be actually something that could help with his daily quality of life. My husband wore the fixator for a few months despite the fact that the continuous adjustments caused extreme pain! He kept hoping the concept "no pain no gain" was true in his case. The doctor treated my husband as though he had the lowest pain tolerance of anyone he had ever met. He would roll his eyes and make him feel weak because his pain level was so intense while wearing the fixator. Dr. McGarvey has the WORST bed side manor of any doc we have ever encountered. Dr. McGarvey on each visit was short, irritable and condescending! I wish I would have recorded some of the conversations we had with him and turned him in to the State Board of Medicine. The device not only did not fix his issues but his pain was much worse after than when he started the process. My husband ended up a couple years later getting an ankle replacement and had great success with this procedure. I write this review years later in the hopes to build awareness and to save another victim from enduring his verbal lashings. For over a decade I had problems with what felt like my knee locking up. After seeing multiple doctors they said they couldn't find anything with one even saying it was in my head. Dr McGarvey took an xray in his office and we viewed it together. No other doctor actually showed me xrays of my knee even though having several. Sure enough I had a bone spur on my upper tibia. Scheduled me for surgery for a date a couple weeks later and I was in and out in a day. After a few weeks of healing movement was great and no more locking. Other doctors saw the same thing and either they were blind, didnt understand what they saw, or were scared to attempt the procedure and their ego got in the way and didn't want to refer me to someone who could perform the procedure. Dr McGarvey was recommended to me to perform an ankle replacement by another orthopedic doctor . Dr McGarvey represented the best hardware and methods (I have a friend in MN who was given a lower rate ankle and it isn’t working out well). I had the ankle replaced and everything went perfect. Dr McGarvey is an excellent surgeon as my pain was minimum, no infection, and the ankle works great. He is one of the few doctors I have experienced that can explain the reasons behind actions in as much detail as needed which indicated he knows what he is doing. *utp orthopedic katy* Luckily my grandma still survives after the 2.5 hours of waiting at this clinic. We had the appoint to see Dr. William C Mcgarvey for the for post surgery follow up at 2.30 pm. We arrived at 2.20pm and waited until 3.35 pm to get called for the x-ray then returnee to the waiting room and waited until 5.00pm to see the doctor. They said it was busy then, however, the other patients came in later got called and finished first. Most of their scheduled time was 2.45pm or 3.00pm

If you want a doctor who you can see quickly and get you injury resolved in a timely fashion avoid this doctor and his staff at all costs. Worst experience I've ever had with a doctors office. Hard as hell to get an appointment in less than two weeks. Took his surgical scheduler a week to even call to set up my surgery, then another 3 weeks to get it scheduled, I was once told I'd have to wait 4 weeks if I wanted to see the actual doctor for a post-op follow up. And paperwork? They require 2 weeks to fill out 2 sheets of paper and fax it. It took them so long to get my surgery done my fmla ran out and I had to go on unpaid leave. Office staff makes it real obvious you don't matter and it's all about their convenience. Latest bit is them telling me I can only be seen at one office, I can't go to both. No explanation just told me I have to pick one and stay there. Rather inconvenient when the one near me only has appointments one day a week. I don't know if he just takes on too many patients or what but I'd have never gone here if I'd known how awful an experience I'd have. I broke my ankle about a year ago and it required surgery. Dr. McGarvey patched it right up with a plate and screws and today, it feels great. At age 50, I didn't think I would ever recover but thanks to Dr. McGarvey and his staff, I'm almost my old self.

Dr. McGarvey is the best. He takes the time to sit down with you and expain the issue and the options to correct the issue. I've been to various orthopedic surgeons over the past 25 years and have the utmost respect and trust in Dr. McGarvey.

An amazing Dr. most surgeons just want to cut. he gives you options and will always let you make the decision. I have been through 2 surgeries on my ankle with possibly many more with a confirmed surgery coming up.One surgery completed by him and another by a trauma surgeon from my 1st surgery for a complete reconstruction of my right ankle. He spends time evaluating all the opportunities for me to heal and be made whole again.iI am so appreciative to be his patient! I feel so grateful that Dr. McGarvey was my surgeon when I fell and broke my hip. He explained everything he was going to do, and saw me regularly after surgery to check that everything was healing well. He took the time to talk to me during my visits about my concerns. His office staff and assistants were always pleasant and very helpful. They helped make a very difficult time more tolerable. Dr. McGarvey is an amazing physician! He was able to save my left lower leg after it had been traumatically amputated. I thank God for Dr. McGarvey and his team. I am so blessed!

My first bunion surgery resulted in over correction. My foot more deformed and in constant pain. Second bunion surgery resulted in infection (osteomyelitis) and I had to be hospitalized. I tried to get an appointment with him and could only get in to see his physician assistant.

office staff is the absolute worst. they will obfuscate, outright lie, and seem to find the patient's pain of a mere trifle to consider. i would fire them all and get someone who cares

Both visits I was evaluated by a young man ,no idea who he was or his position as neither the doctor or the young man introduced himself to me. I waited two hours to see the doctor and no apology or explanation as to why the long wait, and yes I was on time for the appointment, even early. Poor bedside manner by Doctor, cold and dismissive. Didn't react to my complaints, had his own agenda? Quick to X-ray as he has his own machine in the office. Don't feel optimistic about the treatment path

He is absolutely wonderful. I have seen him for over 10 years for three different foot-related issues, to which he fixed amazingly. He definitely is very knowledgeable of foot and ankle related injuries. Some people in other reviews say that he is cold or mean, but he is a doctor! They are extremely busy, analytical people who are looking to fix your problem, not necessarily be your best friend. He can be blunt, but bottom line he is the best in Houston. I have had a great results come from him

Very impressed. Personal and professional. How he differs from the other elite - The analysis of injury suggested surgery work would be more intrusive than hoped, whilst discussed and conditioned to the assumed work, during the actual surgery DR Garvey was able to adapt seeing the ligment/tendon/tissue to ones desired outcome and result. Whereas it feels other surgeons have their preferred procedure. Ankle is doing well and able to enjoy life with the kids! Thanks to Denis & support team too!
