Dr C has been my go to Ortho Dr for almost 20 years. He is the kindest Dr I’ve known. He is clear, honest, easy to talk to about any aspect of your care. I recommend him to anyone who is in need of orthopedic care. I have no anxiety going under anesthesia because I know when I wake up, 35 years of experience has taken care of me.

Dr. Cosgarea is phenomenal! He was attentive and took the time to make sure he understood my concerns and also to make sure I knew how to maximally recuperate after my meniscus repair surgery. Four years later I've been exercising and running every day, which I absolutely wouldn't be able to do without the expertise and care of Dr. Cosgarea and his team!

Dr.Cosgarea is amazing! I highly recommend. We saw him for my son’s UCL (tommy Johns surgery) repair. He is kind and caring and listened and explained Everything to us. Office staff is great too. He was highly recommended to us from a baseball coach and the recommendation did not disappoint!

I couldnt even get a visit. The woman on the phone screened me out saying Dr needed a documented surgical diagnosis to even see me. They wouldnt even schedule me until they received the documented diagnosis. He is only interested in patients who he can do a surgery on. Won't even take the time to try to help anyone else. So unless u are definitely in need a surgery, dont bother...

Dr. Cosgarea is absolutely wonderful. He is incredibly skilled and talented. He performed a MPFL reconstruction and osteotomy on my left knee and I have had no issues since the surgery. It’s been almost 5 years and my does not dislocate and I have no complications from the surgery. Besides his skills, he has a wonderful bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone. My other knee was experiencing pain 5 years later and I only wanted Dr. Cosgarea to examine me. I came back to his office for my other knee 5 years later and he was just as pleasant.

Dr. Cosgarea is the best. Treated my daughter for a torn acl in 2013. Was easily the kindest, most competent orthopedic surgeon we met when we were going through this. Two years later, MRI showed a partial tear in the other ACL:( Took her to a top ortho in No. Va who said that ACL was functionally torn and needed surgery. Even discussed dates for surgery. Then decided to take her to Dr. C. He examine knee, said that while it was a little loose, ACL seemed functional. Told us that physical therapy should be sufficient. Thank God for him because, 4 years later her ACL is just fine! Imagine if we had gone for a surgery that was not needed! Dr. C is kind and considerate and has the best bedside manners. He does not run a chop shop but take the time needed to go over everything in great detail. What a great doctor and human being.

Dr Cosgarea is a leader in the field, with experience and research to back it, yet remains caring and empathetic. He connected with me and took time to listen, and explained the issue and plan thoroughly. I felt like he treated me as a whole person with a knee injury , instead of just treating the problematic knee and ignoring the rest. I wish that I had been able to get treatment from him earlier when I initially injured my knee in college. I recommend him highly, especially to high school and college athletes, as he will take the time to find out your goals and aspirations prior to discussing treatments with you.

I’ve been an athlete at the national and international level for a number of years, so have worked with a large number of sports medicine docs. Dr. Cosgarea is among the best. Knowledgeable, experienced, doesn’t over-prescribe, listens, is passionate about his work, obviously is an athlete himself so his understanding about perspectives serious athletes have is quite good, he listens and practices medicine in a very patient-centered manner. All in all I trust his competence and I trust his character. Exactly what one wants in a healer.

Our son is a teen and we worked with Dr Cosgarea and his P.A., Gary, for nearly 2 years to time a knee repair when our son’s skeletal frame was more mature to handle the double surgery procedure. Dr. Cosgarea is the leading authority on the unique knee repair that our son required. He was always courteous, kind and informative. He and our son had a nice connection through the sport of lacrosse, and Dr Cosgarea’s team is superior in working with athletes and guiding them through surgery, recovery and physical therapy. It was always easy to make appointments, and the front office and clinical staff are professional. The orthopedic facility at Hopkins just moved to a sparkling new location at their campus and it was not difficult for our son to move on crutches from parking lot to the office. As parents, we had researched several orthopedic surgeons in the mid-Atlantic region seeking the expert in the unique condition our son has, and Dr. Cosgarea is that expert. He was a godsend!

Dr. Cosgarea is the best. I've never had surgery and though it was a meniscus tear, I was terrified. His knowledge, skill, and compassion eased my fears.

Dr. Cosgarea is the best. He was recommended to me when I tore my rotator cuff. I definitely needed a skilled and experienced surgeon such as Dr. Cosgarea because my shoulder was torn 360 degrees and it was a very long and difficult procedure. My shoulder is now as good as it was before the tear. I doubt that the surgery would have been as successful if I had gone to another surgeon. He also looks like Dr. Drew which is a plus.

My experience with Dr. Cosgarea was outstanding. He performed the second of my two lateral meniscus repairs. Dr. Cosgarea was very understanding of my goals after surgery and he explained the risks while still being comforting and supportive. After surgery, Dr. Cosgarea and his staff were quick to respond to any questions and concerns I had. I am currently 16 months out from surgery and I just completed my first full collegiate lacrosse season after not being able to play for 2.5 years.

As a medical professional myself, I have a hard time trusting people with my own medical care. Dr. Cosgarea took excellent care of me during the entire ACL repair process. My surgical case had a few challenges in the beginning and he proved to me I could trust him with my health. He has a very kind, gentle bedside manner. He is, in my opinion, the best.
