I had a surgical procedure to stabilize an ankle that he stated was a normal procedure for him. Two years later I still had a lot of pain and had another TCO surgeon perform an ankle fusion, that surgeon told me the previous procedure was out of the scope of Clair’s skill set, and poorly done. So I have permanent damage from Clair that could only be minimized by the fusion

He performed foot surgery on me in 2018 and I was told he was going to do a gastroc tendon release but what he really did was cut my achilles tendon in half. He just left me to suffer for over 2 years before I could get in to see someone who was highly rated. Now I am left with permanent damage and the orthopedic group he worked for terminated him and their insurance carrier MMIC does not want to compensate me for the additional 3 surgeries I have had to endure. They stated that there consulting expert supports the care and treatment provided to me by Dr. Clair. They respectfully deny my claim. Who in there right mind thinks that cutting someone's achilles tendon in half and leaving them suffer for over 2 years believes that is good care????

I can't brag Dr. Clair up enough. He was very thorough with my MRI results, and looked for things that the radiologist overlooked. He told me what to expect during my post-op period, and always made sure that I was comfortable. Even told ne the things that I wouldn't or shouldn't do afterwards.

I had surgery for Plantar Fasciitis July30, 2021. He cut down the inside of my ankle and now 17 months later my foot is more painful then it was before surgery and I have a big gouge where the nerves were all cut and are still very sensitive. I had to get rid of more than 20 pairs of shoes that I could not wear after surgery. I saw a different doctor last summer and the 1st thing he said was "I am sorry this happened to you." I am also sorry I had the surgery. I would like to know if TCO can help me with this matter.

Made the worst decision ever in my life to have Dr Ben Clair do my left foot and ankle Surgery. He left TCO shortly after doing my surgery. I have not been able to stand on my foot for more then 2 hrs at a time with out numbness and swelling occuring. Wake up almost every night between 2 - 4 am w/ major foot and lower leg pain. Wish I knew what he really did to my foot and ankle. I thought he was going to do a wonderful job but he had me fooled. Wish he knew how much he screwed my life up with this surgery..

He botched my surgery left me walking around on Foote which needed a triple fusion done to fix all underlying issues currently. I am very thankful Allina Health they proactively figured in minimal time and did surgery to give some quality of life, I believe Benjamin knew this and deflected it altogether. I would never recommend him because he truly thinks he knows all.

Dr. Clair did foot surgery on me Nov 27, 2018 and I have not been able to walk without a gait/limp issue since. Prior to surgery I could walk just fine. Had plantar fasciitis pain but no problems walking. I saw him multiple times to tell him I couldn't use my toes anymore and I am in extreme pain. I was always told, "sorry things happen." No, things don't just happen, he made a mistake and did not want to take responsibility and fix what he did to me. He cut thru my achilles tendon and just left it. I saw a 2nd opinion at TCO and that doc just blew me off and would not listen to me either. I then found this AWESOME provider at TCO, who has a waiting list of about a year, and he confirmed what I expected. He also confirmed the tendon on the outside of my ankle is tore now. I am going to need another surgery to fix what Dr. Clair did to me. We are hoping no other nerves are damaged and I will regain the use of my toes once again and be able to walk without a limp. Due to my achilles tendon being cut through I have had a low back surgery for a herniated disc and a knee surgery for 2 tears. Due to my gait issues/limping my disc has re-herniated and my knee has re-tore and now I have developed knee issues in my other knee. I struggle to want to do anything every day since it is so painful to walk. I have no longer been able to take my dog on walks, go on a walk with my boyfriend, play ping pong at Christmas or enjoy life because I hurt all the time and it has made me so depressed. I missed a lot of work since it required me to stand. I had to find a new job where I could sit. I could not longer afford my truck and had to give it up. I have spent lots of money on having to buy all new shoes since I can no longer wear any of the shoes I had prior to surgery due to the pain. I have paid for therapies, massagers to use at home, tens units etc... I ask myself why would he just leave me suffer like this for over 2 years? Why would he not want to help me? How can you call yourself a surgeon when you cut through someone's achilles tendon and walk away leaving them to suffer? I usually don't write reviews but I do not want anyone else to have so suffer needlessly like I have!!

I took my adult son who has autism to see Dr Claire about a painful foot issue. It was the best medical encounter I’ve had with my son in a very long time! Dr Claire gave my son time to answer and ask questions. The dr was genuine in his interest in my sons daily activities. He described the options clearly. My son is feeling much better after an injection - which Dr Claire made as painless as possible - and for once he had a good experience at a medical appointment. Highly recommend!

I’ve only had my initial visit but already impressed with Dr Clair and his staff. He asked questions and listened. Made sure that tests were going to be arranged along with a follow up visit. Received a call to schedule a MRI within an hour of leaving the appointment and had the scan that afternoon. My great toe was broken almost a year ago and despite seeing two other doctors there is little improvement. So far this experience has been completely different. I’m optimistically hopeful!

I visited Dr. Clair for a second opinion after the recommendation from a friend that works with him. I have a Jones Fracture and currently the healing process has not being going as well as we had hoped. When I went to Dr. Clair, I felt "heard" and that he truly cared about what I was hoping to get out of my treatment. He recommended surgery which I believe is the right course of action for both the physical healing of my foot but also the mental confidence I need from my foot to perform and live my life they way I would like to.

I saw Dr. Clair for a Trimalleolar ankle fracture. He was very complete and answered all my questions during my initial appointment, before surgery and at my post surgery appointment. It has been six weeks and I seem to be well on the way to a full recovery. After researching several surgeons and now having been treated by Dr. Clair, I would definitely use him again and recommend him.

Dr. Clare has wonderful bedside manner & seemed knowledgeable. My toe surgery went so wrong. I waited over 3 hours for my surgery to take place. The staff left stitches in my foot & when I called after going back 3 times, I was told to pull them out myself. My third toe is now dislocated from the surgical fix of my second toe & requires new podiatrist to remove screws & fix surgery from dr. Clare. I am so disappointed. My new X-ray looks like my foot was tortured.

Dr. Clair did an awesome job of repairing a cyst in one of my ankles in 2012. When I needed the same procedure in 2018, I sought him out, in spite of the fact that he was now practicing four hours from my home. The trip for surgery, and follow-up visits went very smoothly, thanks to Dr. Clair and his staff, including Aaron. Both surgeries were successful, and not only would I highly recommend him to family, friends and others, I would seek him out again myself, if needed.

There are not enough good things I could say about Dr. Clair and his team through my experience working with him. After years of being told I had planters faciitis Dr. Clair was able to diagnose and fix years of pain. My insurance was very difficult to work with but Dr. Clair and his team did everything they could to ensure I got the treatment I needed. I am so grateful to Dr Clair for everything he and his team did. You will not find a more compassionate knowledgeable doctor. Truly talented Dr.

Awesome doctor. I had been suffering for years, and was limping around and worried that I'd be non-ambulatory and possibly lose my job in the future. This after seeing two other physicians and being misdiagnosed. Dr. Clair looked at my MRI and said it was arthritis. He gave me three steroid injections in my foot and I now feel like I have my life back! I can walk great again, without pain!! I never thought this would happen, and I'm eternally grateful. I've recommended him to everyone I know!

After receiving a diagnosis from another doctor who proposed surgery for my hammertoes which I thought extreme and would require extensive recovery time, I went to Dr. Claire who solved my problem with a much simpler approach which had me walking without support the same day and fully recovered in a couple of months. Great guy and Great doctor.

Dr. Clair is very personable. He explains conditions and treatments very clearly and easily. I had foot surgery and walked out of the surgery center feeling great, with no pain. By the evening, I had very minimal pain and did not require anything other than ibuprofen after the first night. I was back to work 3 days later, and now my foot feels great!
