Quick, minimal paperwork, friendly from registration all the way through. Staff were so friendly and engaging in more of a personal manner while providing a professional and competent job. I will be back March 10 with Dr Rubery. Every procedure I’ve had is so consistent and in a weird way enjoyable. Great people create great experiences. Thank you! Every thing well.

Clean facilities, nice staff

Overall good experience aside from the fact of having to call the answering service to get my medication sent in to the pharmacy. I left the office around 4pm waiting in the area before going to pharmacy because I was told on leaving she was sending it over. Went to pharmacy at 5pm still no prescription so called on call as I did not want to have to make another trip back the next day to get my prescription. Very good communication

My problem of chronic diarrhea has not been resolved. I was very specific about requesting an MD rather than an RN but on follow up visit he was not available. Will not be returning to his office. I also requested that my medical records be retrieved for review. They were later located after I left the office and I received a call with information I already knew. Waste of my time.

I've been a patient of his for probably 15 years. I love his calm demeanor and willingness to listen and give thoughtful responses even on issues unrelated to gastro issues. He's so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Wouldn't go to anyone else for my digestive issues. Also love his nurse practitioner, Alaina. I feel very comfortable seeing her for routine follow-ups.

Dr. Rubery is the best doctor I've ever known period and especially as a G.I. doctor. He's very smart, he cares about you and he will go above and beyond to help you any way he possibly can. You couldn't ask for a more calm, good hearted, good natured, sincere person to be a doctor for you. I've known him close to twenty years and he's still the same able and willing person today that he was in the beginning. You will not find a better G.I. doctor anywhere. Because of "The Rona" I didn't meet Dr. Rubery until the day of my colonoscopy, which was at Grandview. He came in, talked with me about my concerns and what he would be looking for. Pretty straight to the point, but polite. He spoke to my husband after the colonoscopy and my husband liked him too. They even put my report into the patient portal so I could see my results. All interactions with his staff have been great as well. Prescriptions have been sent quickly. Correspondence is easy. I usually talk to Alaina Odom in the patient portal and responses are fast. I am loving all of SouthEast Gastro and Grandview!

Waited in his office for over 45 mins. Ended up needing colonoscopy. While he gave results to my dad, he got a call on his cell and rushed off to answer and never came back. His staff also called in medication to the wrong pharmacy, even though I gave them my pharmacy’s info in my new patient paperwork. The staff also gave me the incorrect address to the surgeons office they referred me too. I tried calling an office manager, left a message with them to discuss these issues and over 2 weeks later I’ve heard NOTHING from them. My surgeon also found another issue he missed, not impressed! Their office also called me to try to schedule a follow up from the colonoscopy and I asked why and what for. They never could give me an answer, which proves they just want to bill your insurance to get money. Greedy doctor right here, do not use!

Dr. Rubery is an excellent doctor. He and his team definitely put their patients first. He has an excellent and caring bedside manner. I would highly recommend him.

Don't let any other doctor do your colonoscopy. Dr. Rubery performed my second colonoscopy this week. The first one was 7 years ago at another facility. The entire staff at SE Gastro was a tremendous blessing. Heather was just super setting up my initial appointment. Everyone over at the Physicians Center in Alabaster was terrific. Liz was especially helpful when it came time to do the actual procedure. Without question, Dr. Rubery and his staff are the best of the best.

I would recommend Dr. Rubery to anyone with medical issues of his practice. He literally saved my life several years ago when I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. I went through a 11 month treatment with him, and a few other staff care takers, that helped me get through the toughest time of my life. I owe him everything, he absolutely got me back to being healthy again and without him and his wonderful staff and his references to the hematology center, I would have never made it. Thanks

Dr. Rubery is always kind and answers any questions I might have. His office staff is competent and quickly returns phone calls. Highly recommend!
