I had a consultation with Dr. Abshire regarding an arthritic disc. His knowledge and experience are unmatched. He was very well articulated on what and why regarding treatment. I highly recommend!

I have so much pain in my neck I can't turn my head back and forth or up and down without severe pain. After a consultation with Dr Abshire I feel very confident he will help me I'm waiting for my surgery date. I just want to be out of pain.I'll get back to you after my surgery............

I had two Discectomies about 20 years ago about 6 months apart. Two years ago my back got so bad that I was unable to get out of bed. The surgeon that did my surgeries before quit his practice but he said I needed a Fusion of the L4 an L5 and sent me to another surgeon who said the same thing. I was referred by a friend to see Dr. Abshire. He spent about one hour with me going over every possibility. He thought that he could a Laminectomy on the L3,L4 and L5 and that should relieve the pain from the nerves. He performed the surgery and all the pain was gone. It was fantastic. He is a phenomenal surgeon and I have worked in the personal law business for 25 years and know what I am talking about. A fusion takes about 6 months to recover and the Laminectomy was about 30 days to recover. If you want a real professional surgeon the go see Dr. Abshire. I recently had surgery by Dr. Abshire. He truly is the best Neurosurgeon in the business. However, this was the worse surgery I have ever had. "The personal care stopped when the scalpel was put down." I was hospitalized for 6 days and Dr. Abshire was to busy to see me even though I requested him literally everyday. My prescriptions were called in incorrectly causing me to pay out of pocket and one prescriptions was simply refused by my pharmacy. If I didn't have pain medication and pain management experience from previous surgeries I would have needed to go to the ER. If you are considering Dr. Abshire for your first surgery you might want to look elsewhere. I wish he would have referred me to a doctor who had time to provide "complete care". I will seriously consider a different doctor for any future back surgeries.

I would recommend Dr. Bret Abshire to be the best in the business. I’ve been a patient of his for the past twenty years. I am preparing now for an extensive spinal fuse due to years of degenerative bone issues. I have had two surgeries with Dr. Abshire performing both. He’s extremely professional, detailed, informative, and treats his patients with the utmost attention and care.

Can I leave a 10 star review! After a freak accident on my bicycle aggravating a 39 year old injury, Dr Abshire and his team fuzzed C3 through C7. The result was incredible allowing me to regain hand and finger dexterity which was diminishing through the years. I cannot thank him enough.
