Bad experience

I'm writing this on behalf of my elderly father, who has been a patient of Dr. Gerber for years. He has nothing but high praise for Dr. Gerber, who has been treating his bladder cancer. He likes his bedside manner, and honest feedback. He loves the staff, especially Dawn. He highly recommends Dr. Gerber!

I've ben seeing Dr. Gerber for about 10 years and wouldn't go to anyone else. He found my prostate cancer, designed a program to combat it, and my PSA is undetectable 2 1/2 years after treatment. He's friendly, personable and thorough. The staff is also outstanding!! 100 stars!!

Very Rude ! Read other reviews and believe them! Absolutely awful! Needs to be educated on how to speak to patients.

Very pleasant staff, Dr gerber very nice fellow but he seems to be doing a sales pitch rather than practicing medicine. I tried the very expensive hormone replacement and it did very little for me. I was told I just needed a higher dose. By the way the Dr also puts you on a very large amount of supplements that he claims he doesn't sell yet the pharmacy keeps track of your purchases. The supplements will cost about $300+ a month and there are prescriptions too. Blood tests and office visits are $300 and procedure is $800 all in I have spent about $1,800 with no results other than having to take about 10 pills a day.

Nice office and staff but this hormone therapy may be more of a scam than a real treatment. The Dr claims he and his staff are all doing it but I never asked any of them if they did. I really don't think that I would get an honest answer. I did try it , all in cost about $1,800 dollars did not see much results gained some unwanted weight, libido was boosted for about 2 weeks not the 5 months as promised, gained no muscle mass. When I decided to leave it was like I was persona non grata. I wouldn't recommend this procedure unless you like taking a lot of expensive pills, about 10 a day. No Fountain of Youth as promised.

Hack surgeon. Should be charged for malpractice. If he says you dont have time for a 2nd opinion, get a second opinion. He only cares about his wallet, not about your health or well being

He helped me get through a kidney stone wonderful completely recommended

I had the seed implants about 20 years ago by dr Gerber and i thank God everyday i did. The results were the best and to this day i have no further problems. I had 3 lupron shots that were expensive and the total cost was about 85k but it was the best money i ever spent.

Dr. Brian Gerber, I am writing to suggest that you terminate the use of Lupron for prostate cancer without advising your male patients about the significant and serious potential for devastating side effects. You gave me a series of two 4-month shots of Lupron (and wanted to give me a third). I refused and you made totally inappropriate jokes about my refusal. That was the last time I visited your office six+ years ago. Unfortunately, the horrible side effects of those two shots have ruined my life in terms of a weakened musculature, a lack of energy and a general malaise. Never once did you give me any warning regarding such potential and permanent side effects before administering the first shot. I considered filing a malpractice lawsuit, but I knew you would argue that you gave me a full explanation of the side effects. Unfortunately, I would.be unable to rebut your argument without a recording. My only alternative was to find more competent care at the Chicago Prostate Cancer Center in Westmont. Incidentally, I notice that the ratings for them are significantly higher than yours, which is totally understandable! I had lithotripsy last year done by Dr. Gerber for a 8.5mm kidney stone. At my follow up he said there was no more stone which was great. I then asked how long the pain would last and he handed me a card for a pain specialist and proceeded to basically call me a drug seeker. Recently I was in the ER with another kidney stone. I simply called to make a follow up appointment and he said it was unnecessary and I needed to see a pain specialist yet again. He said there was no stone but it was clearly seen and he looked at the wrong scan or didn’t look at all. It was seen in multiple tests. I highly discourage anyone to see this man. Dr Gerber doesnt listen and treats all problems the same way regardless of the outcomes. He doesnt give informed consent before going to the hospital or after, He shuffles you out without letting you ask questions. Dont let him touch you without informed consent. he cost me $40K and the results still are not good. He took me off my aspirin just to control the bleeding from his procedures. He will not stick me again! Very traumatic. Treats patients like in a fast food joint when they want Steak!

I found the staff likable, the doctor quite smart about anti aging and hormonal issues, above what most MD's know; and he also incorporates natural formulas, to reduce drug side effects, when possible.

The inexcusably bad experiences are fresh, so forgive me. Urgent that I schedule a bone scan, and call them when done to schedule follow up. 2 weeks out, seriously? Send me for a test to see if my cancer has spread, and tell me wait 2 weeks to find out? Follow up was today. After 90 minutes in lobby and exam room, never saw the doctor. Got up and left. The front desk staff never apologized, or even came to check on us. I don't have space to go into detail. They are ICE cold. My advice? Stay away
