The staff is horrible! They NEVER answer the phone. Dr valika needs to rehire a new group of staff that is committed to patient care. The MA seemed to be bothered when asking questions and didn't take the time to explain medical equipment. It is very sad that dr valika is being represented by staff who are not there for the right reasons. Dr valika himself is a very nice man, very informative and answers questions. His current staff makes me anxious even thinking of calling to make a appointment.

I had a thyroid US for a nodule that was being watched. I received access to the report saying that a biopsy was recommended. Dr. Valika's staff told me that he was aware of my multiple phone calls to discuss results and plan... he didn't call be back. He went on vacation for over 2 weeks. He has yet to call me. This ultrasound was over a month ago. My GYNECOLOGIST ordered the biopsy for me. Horrible care!

Extremely rude staff. Long wait times. Scheduling an appointment is nearly impossible IF you ever recieve a call back. FMLA paperwork had to be completed by a seperate office, as they continuously just never filled it out, despite numerous requests. No empathy or concern for the patients. Pushes unneccessary medications while holding life saving prescriptions for insulin and test strips hostage by continually "forgetting" to send the prescriptions to the pharmacy. And as its impossible to get ahold of staff, have fun begging for insulin samples at other hospitals or the lovely ER bill when you end up DKA. Improper billing. Charges for services never rendered. Not turning in bills to the insurance companies. I could go on, but I think you get it.

Be aware ! In my appointment I never saw the Dr . No exam , No vitals were taken , No review of my body . Some assistant give a whole bunch of pills and told me to return . Lack of care and incompetence.

He is a horrible doctor. He has no empathy and only does the bare minimum (I think because he doesn't know what he's doing or is unwilling to try anything behind the basic blood tests.) I am in and out of the hospital and severely ill and was needing an endocrinologist to help with my health. When my labs came back normal the doctor (Dr Valika) said “well my job is done.” I said “what do you mean? I’ve been fainting and shaking and unable to work and I need help.” But when I asked what the next steps are the doctor LAUGHED at me. He LAUGHED at me when I asked him “what can we do? Please help me.” He saw me crying and pale and asking for help and laughed at me for suggesting we try something else or do further testing. He wouldn’t even show me my blood results or give me a copy when I asked for them. And he made crude jokes about my eating disorder when I declined to get on the scale for a second time - after I explained I can’t get on the scale because it’s part of my recovery. Please, don’t see this person. Please, read the reviews and do not come here. Go to an actual physician who wants to help people, not a retired joke of a doctor who only treats elderly diabetic patients and has no idea how to help anyone else (and has no desire to either.) Staff is unprofessional. Called the office around 4-5 times on different days was either sent to voicemail or kept getting transferred, I had to end up driving to the office just to speak to someone and when I got there I was just given attitude and no answers. No actual care for the patients.

My only complaint about Dr. Valika is that he is not my doctor for everything. I CANNOT say enough positive things about Dr. Valika if I tried!! He's been compassionate, thorough, a great listener and communicator, professional, yet always able to make me laugh and feel at ease. No need to feel that Chicago has the best endocrinologist, he's right in Elgin! My only complaint about Dr. Valika is that he is not my doctor for everything. I have been a patient for about 6 months. And, my ONLY complaint about Dr. Valika is that he is not my doctor for everything. I CANNOT say enough positive things about Dr. Valika if I tried!! He's been compassionate, thorough, a great listener and communicator, professional, yet always able to make me laugh and feel at ease. I have never had a medical provider make me feel truly cared about and not a number or paycheck in my life. No need to feel that Chicago has the best endocrinologist, he's right in Elgin!

Dr. Valika has been my endocrinologist for over 20 years. He is an excellent doctor, is warm and genuine, and cares about his patients. I like him so much I still go to see him even though his office staff sucks completely. They are marginally competent, inflexible, and it is difficult to schedule an appointment.

I really dislike leaving bad reviews, but after my experiences with this doctor and his staff I felt the need to write a one. I spent over 2 weeks trying to get through to his front desk and medical assistant the urgency of needing medical supplies, even my pharmacy had extreme difficulty getting in touch with Dr. Valika and his staff. As far as Dr. Valika himself, he seems to only treat the illness and symptoms, he prescribed me medication that I was allergic too, knowing I had the allergy to it, doesn't really seem to care and will just treat you for what you're there for. I met Dr Valika from the Hospital and was somewhat not happy with him, but he asked me what do I want to do to help myself and I told him I want to cure my Type 2 Diabetes as it is a diet condition and he agreed and so far has provided support and he does care about my health and not just as a cash cow.. I have seen him 3 times and I am so far happy with how he has worked with me (not easy to find a Endocrinologist that is personal and wants to help you! I recommend Dr Valika to go see ASAP, but getting in as a new patient can be difficult as he is busy, but so far worth it! Dr Valika is a great DR and his bedside manner is fantastic. He takes the time to explain & answer questions. He is very patient and listens to the questions you need answered. I have never had a problem making an appointment & they always contact us with a reminder of upcoming appointments.

Well I think any doctor or office can get bad reviews! In fact I was worried when I read the reviews here and this is the reason I am writing my review! Dr Valika is a smart and has a very good bedside manner, but we are all human and have our good and bad days right? I am 1 of the most picky patients their is! I met him 2 times at Sherman Hospital and 1 time at his office and he is a awesome doc and is not the kind is listen to me and do as I say! GO SEE HIM!

Dr. Valika seems very nice and professional, but the staff is ridiculous. Some of them are rude and incompetent. One time I came in for my appointment (50 minute drive) just to be told the doctor was out of the country. I was ticked! A phone call or a voicemail would have been nice.

He’s an amazing dedicated Doctor who has helped me not only get better in physical health but mentally as well. He has uplifted and motivated me to become a better person for my self! Always loving and kind! Would recommend anyone to his practice! Very diligent and helpful!

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. He does not care about his patients. Just a cattle call service. The staff is horrible! Never calls you back. He cares nothing about healing his patients. Just treats your symptoms acutely. Never trying to research to help you get better just keep you on the medication and routine labs as a vicious cycle. Endless bills!! Lied to my face when I asked for him to help me with Medical leave papers and sent the paperwork back to my company blank!!!

This is the best doctor I have ever had. Period. Kind, informed, takes time to listen and talk with you. I can't say enough nice things about this doctor. Had straightened out my newly diagnosed diabetes and my case was bad.

Dr Valikah focuses on knowing his patients and addressing their needs. He may be a little late at times, but he makes sure I am always comfortable with decisions and treatment.

I will not recommend Dr. Valika, becuse it is imposible to schedule an appointment with him, his staff is not trained to run the front office, I waist my time

I would not recommend this doctor because of the inept and disrespectful office staff.
