Dr. David W Malka

I was so disappointed with Dr. Malka's level of care. He never took the time to review any of my records. I gave him numerous cd's and every visit he'd say well from your CD there's been no changes so see me in 3 months, my cd was 2 years old!! I finally had enough and found another neurologist! Listen to the reviews!! BEWARE!!

Dismissive, did not listen to my Mother. Gave her drugs that have a high chance of interaction to cause low blood pressure with two of her medications and a referral to a psychiatrist, though this says he is also one. She was there because she has epilepsy, and other neurological symptoms. If he had spent more time asking about the condition, he would know that she also has an 8 year old granddaughter that is in the middle of diagnosis to find the root cause of her seizures. Where they both drop shake and foam at the mouth. I will be calling the office tomorrow to make sure he actually intended to prescribe the medication she just got from the pharmacy that also warns about family history of diabetes, which her mother had.

Left this doctors office feeling dismissed and passive aggressively diagnosed with “I can see you have a lot of issues”. Very unprofessional, the appointment felt rushed and was just pushed out the door with scripts that will cause many side effects which he didn’t offer a solution to either. Worst doctors office I've ever been too , if it wasn't for the nurse practitioner it would be a 0, just one example they didn't get my seizure medicine filled in time causing me to have a seizure, because they "forgot" to call it in

I've been a patient for 4 years. I needed a local neurologist after moving to the Tampa area for treatment of a chronic condition. I first had a consult with Dr. Malka. He took lots of notes and asked many questions. We then discussed my desire to modify the treatment and he came back with a modified treatment which I've now been using for the past 4 years. Dr. Malka is always pleasant and friendly when I see him. I find him to be down to earth and genuine and plan to continue my relationship. I highly recommend him.

I suffered a stroke July 10, 2021, my release paperwork from the hospital said to follow up with Doctor Malka. I called and indicated the aforementioned hospitalization for stroke and follow up per discharge directives. I was told that I would see Dr. Gu and scheduled the follow up for August 8, 2021. DR Gu saw me that day he had no copies of my hospitalization or why he was seeing me. After less than 5 minutes he said to schedule a follow up appointment and he would get my records from the hospital. so I scheduled the appointment for follow up to hospitalization for stroke and never receive the services that I scheduled. Receive a bill for new patient Mod-High for $122.54. I have called twice to say I did not get the service I scheduled so not going to pay for something that I did not receive. was told that this was the medicare discounted price. If that is the case there must be a lot of federal medicare fraud going on. I cant say much for the Doctor I would' not know, after how I was treated by his front end staff to make a new patient appointment , I would rather drive 60 miles away to be treated with respect . Whoever takes calls there is RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and should not work with people!!!

Stay awayfrom them. Unprofessional and don't return patient calls, emails, or letters. The only way to get their attention folks is to sue the M.i.n.d neurology Clinic. Its coming.

I have been twice in the past 6 weeks and very very pleased with Dr. Malka and Linda and the Assistants!! They are down to earth kind and caring!

I went to Dr. Malka with mild facial discomfort. He spent about five minutes with me and ordered an MRI. I went back about 10 days later for the results, but instead of seeing the doctor, I was confronted by his very rude nurse practitioner. She said my brain looked okay, but that I have Trigeminal Neuralgia. "I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy," she said. "It is very painful and just gets worse and worse," she said. "There's not a lot you can do about it," she said, adding that they could prescribe Oxycodone - which I certainly will not take. I asked her to explain what Trigeminal Neuralgia is and she told me to look it up on the internet, a very unprofessional suggestion. as the internet can be notoriously wrong. Even so, I did and I was totally devastated. It is a rare, but extremely serious, life-changing condition that can become so painful that it has driven some people to suicide. I called another doctor for a second opinion. Fortunately, that doctor's assistant could hear how terrified I was, and the doctor agreed to stay late to see me the same day. I picked up a copy of my MRI and report and went to see him. He conducted several tests and said that I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT HAVE TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA. Instead, I have "myofacial pain with referred pain." He suggested warm, moist compresses and a physical therapist for a face massage. I cannot believe that Dr. Malka so off-handedly "diagnosed" this severe and debilitating disease without further testing and, perhaps worse, let his nurse deliver this devastating news to me in such a cruel and casual manner. And, yes, the office is tacky, half-painted, and the stuffing is coming out of at least one of the exam tables. I have carefully documented in writing everything I have written in this brief review. Well, would never recommend or revisit dr Malka ever! My husband definitely has issues and needed a professional for help. After first visit, he was given blood draw orders but quest let us know that codes on order was not covered by insurance and would cost 5,000. Additional. Went back to have recoded but office help said go somewhere else for labs. Again same story and back to office. Few more stories and finally they said he really doesn’t need these tests and just come in. Oh yes, also a mri was done. Finally the big appointment and who we got was a goofy (I guess she was a assistant) womanthat told him to touch his nose, repeat 3 words and that was it. Great place office staff cares deeply, Dr is on point.

Dr. David Malka is an arrogant jerk. I got a concussion, went to the ER for a CT Scan. The scan showed abnormalities, so the ER Nurse recommended I see a Neurologist within 2 days. The ER gave me a list of Neurologists and I selected Dr. Malka from the list. At our appointment, he had not received the scan results but proceeded without them. That was my first red flag that he was unprofessional. He then touched my feet and asked me if I could feel it. I said yes. He asked me to touch my nose, which I did. And then he said I was fine and should return in a month. He did not give me any information about Post-Concussion Syndrome, what to avoid, what to expect. Nothing. I want Dr. David Malka to know that the Lord above gave him an opportunity to be a channel for my complete recovery but Dr. Malka rejected the Blessing.

After waiting an hour and a half for Dr Malka to come to my cubicle, he did virtually nothing. Seemed distracted, and unconcerned. Cursory exam, if you want to call it that. I had a list of neurological symptoms that Dr. Malka glanced at. His extremely quick diagnosis was that my issues were due to "nerves." That's it. Didn't even do an analysis of my neurological issues since I had a stroke several years ago. He either did not want to deal with me, or just didn't care. I don't think I've ever gone to any doctor who was as discourteous and abrupt, and unprofessional as Dr. Malka. I would give no "stars" to him, but I had to rate him to write this. Something is not right with a doctor who dismisses you summarily - without a thorough examination and history taking. He said he would call my PCP about medications I'm taking, but DID NOT ever make that call. I urge everyone considering consulting this man to reconsider, and please search for another doctor or facility.

I did not even get to schedule an appointment because the receptionist was so rude and degrading. She talked to me as though I have never scheduled an appointment before and would not listen to me without interrupting. She had a horrible attitude so I am taking my needs elsewhere. I expect a lot more from a medical office.

While the reception staff at The Malka Institute were awesome, the PA that sees patients has no bedside manor at all. She was completely unprepared for my visit, did not listen to a word I said, and did little other then recommend more tests. The PA tried to make the diagnosis for me and I would have had better luck throwing a dart at a board. She even said I would need to see a Neurologist for my symptoms. I have been searching for a competent Dr. to help me with my pain and symptoms, this Man is not one of them. I initially called and expressed my concerns about the negative reviews he was given as I was recommended to him. I did not have the emotional strength to see another neurologist that was dismissive. The office staff assured me not to believe everything I read on the reviews and that he was a good Dr. I waited and hour and a half after my scheduled appointment time. When I was finally seen my assessment was sub-par to say the least. He blew through my previous reports and medical documentation and refused to look at my MRI images. “It’s probably just stress.” He minimized my previous diagnosis and actually told me that the condition I was concerned about was not noted on my reports. If he actually took the time to thoroughly read what I provided he would have seen what I was referring to. Please do not let this man drain you of time, emotion, and money. We have been seeing Dr Malka for 10 years. He has been helpful. His office is outdated and sometimes we do wait awhile but he always takes time to listen.

Worst Dr. I have ever been to. Went for anxiety disorder and was treated so disrespectful. Treating me as if I'm dr shopping and I was a drug addict. I would never reccomend this dr or his assistant Ms. Bark to anyone seeking help for anxiety or depression.

Asked me a grand total of two questions back in 2014(?) about my condition and diagnosed me as depressed. Then commented on how my abusive dad should be a part of my life. Unprofessional and too quick to assume psych.

I went in to see Dr. Malka back in 2016 and had MRI of my brain cause I am so terribly forgetful . He said it was natural aging. That was the last time I saw him. He kept me waiting for 45 minutes. From then on when I made a appointment they said I would see him but instead his nurse came in to see me. After the 3rd visit I walked out and vowed never to come back. I would not recommend Dr. Malka to anyone. I have been suffering with chronic migraines for 2 years and getting botox injection for them. My previous Dr. didnt take my insurance so I had to find another one in Pinellas county. Dr. Malka wrote off my migraines as just heaches and refused to give the botox injections, leaving me to suffer another 6 months and multipe ER visits because of him. The office staff was always kind and on top of things.

This "doctor" saw me while admitted in the hospital for 2 min. I did not ask to see him but was still billed over $700 for his "visit".

Avoid at all costs. I've never left a doctor's office feeling so humiliated and insulted before.

I want to thank Dr. Malka for his complete understanding of my problem. I just moved here and he was competent,, conciise and had a solution nearly immediately. I do not understand the barrage of negative reviews,. I am assuming he possibly has no tolerance for the ignorance that is too often displayed in this area..

This guy is an absolute quack. Stay away. He could be dangerous. We were referred to him by a doctor in the ER for follow up after my daughter suffered a concussion playing soccer. He told us her symptoms were the result of emotional issues not the concussion. It's been three days! He spent less than 90 seconds examining her and got barely any history. He was rude, accusatory and had my 16-year old daughter in tears. His license should be revoked.

Their billing manager must be very inexperienced! She can't figure out how to bill insurance company even after I gave her all pertinent information numerous times.

Dr. Malka is an arrogant, pompous man. My niece was diagnosed with ADHD prior to being seen by him. He said she wasn't and that she only had behavioral problems. He prescribed her Seroquel. She ended up having a seizure. The dr there said that is one of the side effects. Went for a follow up and he stated that Seroquel doesnt cause seizures. He walked out of the room. Her mom received a certified letter saying that we threaten him, and that he would turn us in to the DEA for being drug seekers.

Worst doctor I've ever seen. I have Frontal lobe epilepsy, and have seen a neurologist prior to seeing Malka. When I told him theven different types of seizures I have... He scolded me for using medical terms and asked if I was the doctor. TERRIBLE bed side manner. He then asked if I ever thought about Xanax or other anti anxiety medications... Knowing that I have Narcolepsy. (Narcoleptic patients can't take benzos.. period)

Don't waist your time. Malka cancelled an appointment for my son 1hour prior to appointment time without a reason, my son missed school and my wife and I had to take the day off from work to make it to this appointment. If I would have cancelled 1hour prior to appointment tome I would have been charged for the cancellation. I want to know where I can send my bill for his cancellation. I was offered another appointment but it would be in another month. Thanks for the delay in care for my son.

Malka is a pompous, incompetent idiot. I was a paramedic, therefore I knew medical terms for my symptoms; he didn't like that. He basically blew me off as a drug seeker. I was there for neuropathy, NOT meds. I then saw Dr. R. Shah, in New Port Richey-10 stars), he ordered MRI's, Nerve Studies, etc. Diagnosis? Nerve conduction delays in ALL FOUR extremities, and lesions on my brain. When I told the receptionist how Malka treated me, she said, "That's because you know know more than he does!"

This is a waste of a doctor; unfortunately, I am a stroke victim at 58 years young. I have to be under Medicaid since I cannot work. I was told I needed to see a Neurologist because of new symptoms of dizziness and went to Dr. Malka in Palm Harbor. Saw him once and was told I may never be well again. His Nurse Linda Bark stinks too – I have told her repeatedly the pills that are prescribed at NOT working. They are completely uncompassionate and rude.

Doctor doesn't care about the patient. Nurse practioner spent one appointment telling me how I was going to die. Since she didn't feel it would be the headache nothing would be done. She stated today, even if nothing is going to ever be done, he always puts down for the patients to schedule another appointment. Staff is great even though they are publically ridiculed for trying to help the patients. Worse office I have ever been in due to the level of care and the condition of the Hudson office.

Rude, ask a question and doesn't let u answer, interups constantly. Ordered MRA and never had a follow up appointment with him. Office couldn't find my report so they text him and he had it with him. He told nurse to tell me MRA was fine and he wouldn't be giving me any meds. That was it! I got charged $50 and paid my deductible $600 and don't know anything. I write dr and explained I would like a follow up with him and never heard back. Very arrogant ADHD man that needs help himself.

The office is out-dated, dingy and dirty. You (the patient) are not "allowed" to lean on the counter because it may fall down (as the sign says). Not one of the various copied credentials is hanging straight in the office; it's very off-putting. Then as you make your way to the unprofessional, rude and dishelved receptionist, you are met with barking orders to sign in and take a seat- but Damn you, if you don't have your referral in hand! Then, if you make it passed Miss Sunshine, you may just catch a glimpse at the Good Doctor- if he feels like seeing patients on the day you're scheduled-otherwise-you're told to reschedule because Dr. Conceited doesn't feel like helping people today. I've been through this ordeal about 5 times, and frankly, I'm done with the office and the practicioner. The doctor is a joke, and in my opinion, a fraud. They've lost my files, rescheduled me all but 1 of my 5 appointments and seem to have no knowledge of anything. You'd have to be a brave soul in order to entrust your life to Dr. David W. Malka!
