Dr. Ernest H. Sponzilli

Dr Sponzelli is one of the top pain mgmt specialists I’ve had. I drive from Folsom just to see him. When first meeting we had disagreements but his steady hand have changed my life. Since Mt Tam Orthopedics switched it’s much more difficult to get an appointment or calls returned.

Dr. Sponzilli was the worst doctor I have ever been to. He made fun of my questions, left me waiting in the examining room. His assistance told me I was mistaken to think he told me he would be right back. He refused to explain terms on the report, was brusque, even snotty. I do not understand why he is still in this practice. I would give zero stars if that were an option.

If you want a less caring physician, you won’t find one. He is your guy. Ensures your questions and your care remains unfulfilled while takes every chance to bill your insurance.

Sponzilli only wanted to do the epidural. Because i requested the surgery and not the cortisone shot that would have to be done multiple times, possibly for life, he was hella condescending and gave me a quote by vince lombardi and that was it. I wouldnt trust these people to operate on my back if i was paid. Sponzilli at least.... is a hassle to even to get my medication refills which have to be done by front staff because his own secratary quit due to his attitude. I had an epidural pain blocker in my back and nothing was explained to me. Also, I don't think the numbing portion of the program worked so it was a very painful injection. I felt great for 3 days, then it wore off. I had heard you need.a series for best results. No one told me this either. I got no followup phone call at all and when I reached out for more information about next steps, no one called me back. I have now left 6 messages with no response and my pain is back to a 10. I went to Dr.Sponzilli about 2 months ago for 3 epidurals. It relieved my pain in my back, instantly.Unfortunately It wasn’t explained To me what not to do. I knew to take it easy but I wasn’t aware that a minor twist to open my car door would hurt my back so the pain free was short lived. The only reason I’m giving him 3 stars because someone was supposed to get back with me for an ablation and they haven’t done that as a result I am in pain all the time.I am disappointed that I haven’t been followed upon. Gladys Valiente I got some injections from dr sponzilli a few year ago he help so much with my back pain, due to a injury I suffer at work me being a caregiver I do a lot of heavy lifting. I was wonderful , the way he conducted himself ,what a professional to me he is a high calibre doctor.

Dr. Sponzilli is the best -- an amazing diagnostician with super surgical and human skills. He listens and hears his patients and is so very dedicated to what he does. He, and his clinical and administrative team, also wonderful people by the way, are a joy to work with. Thanks for all you do.

I have been treated twice by Dr. Sponzilli with excellent results both times. Most recently was an injection for sciatica at the beautiful new surgery center near Northgate. Both doctor and staff were very friendly and answered all of my questions.

Dr. Sponzilli has provided the highest level of care for multiple areas of my cervical vertebrae and lower back. With every visit Dr. Sponzilli is exceptional in the care he gives to determine the source of the pain and a plan to remedy the pain. I have complete confidence in his professionalism and will continue to call upon Dr. Sponzilli for my health needs/requirements.

I went to the doctor for epidural 2 years ago and his treatment gave me relief for a year and a half.

So instead of answering my legitimate questions about a spine procedure he kept telling me not to worry because he had 25 years of experience. Incredibly arrogant and terrible bedside manner. Don't go to this doctor if you care to ask a single question about your own health.

I came here get an epidural in my lower left backside near my lower spine. The RN Nurses Marie, David and Lisa and various medical staff were very polite showed genuine concern for my comfortability and to keep me at ease. However I really needed none of this even though it was very reassuring and appreciated. I trust Dr. Sponzilli 100%. He is literally one of the best Doctors/ Medical professionals I have ever met. Not sure why others have this clinic a low score. He tells people without sugarcoating which some people may take as being callous. However this is further from the truth as you have to imagine the volume of people the staff here help and of course have to deal with. We have to remember we are all human beings and allowed a varation of feelings on our emotional spectrum dependent on other internal and external events. However from observation especially interacting acting with some of the old and other more difficult patients. All I observed were a staff genuinely concerned with all patients equally being compassionate to their medical conditions. Not sure why people rate a Medical Doctor based on his staff. Please learnto be objective and leave results on outcome of his medical skills. As well I only have good things to say about his staff.
