Dr. Gayle R Crays

I started seeing Dr. Crays as a primary a few years ago. My last visit with her, I brought up concerns about infertility and other symptoms I believed to be caused by a hormone imbalance, and I asked for a referral to a hormone specialist/endo. She told me that my symptoms were consistent with long-term COVID and that she would not give me the referral because "doctors are too busy to see patients proactively". She said that I should wait two years before being concerned about our failed attempts to conceive. Needless to say, I started looking for a new doctor and finally got in to see a specialist, who took one look at my symptoms and knew something was off. Not only have I been diagnosed with infertility, but am also being treated for endometriosis. Time is precious when you're trying to conceive in your thirties and there is no time for a doctor who doesn't care. 0/10 do not recommend.

Dr. Crays and staff are very friendly and caring. Dr. Crays is very thorough and explains your medications and treatment plan. I have been seeing her for 17 years and have a very complicated history. Dr. Crays has always referred me to very good specialists and physical therapists.

Been seeing her for a few years, before a few days ago I hadn't had much of a problem beyond her cold personality. I am a type one diabetic, so I see her only for my general health checkups. But my last appointment she informed me that because I hadn't seen the doctor in 9 months (bc of covid, New jobs and money problems), she would have cut me off as a patient, insunuating she would have not filled my insulin prescription if she was the doctor that prescribed it. The fact that she straight up told me that if she had her way, my LIFE SAVING medication would not be covered under insurance. Makes me think of the people without health insurance or financial problems that would literally have to ration insulin or otherwise literally die from this doctor 'following her doctorate duties' to keep her license. Her ethics prioritize making money off you every time you visit rather than give patients the actual help they need. Could not rate her lower, I hope she reads this and changes her tone and the way she disrespectful speaks to people. In any case, I was not dropped by her, im getting a better doctor for myself. I’ve seen Dr Crays for a couple of years now. She takes the time to answer my questions and provide any necessary treatment. It’s helpful when a doctor can teach you about your health.

I have been seeing Dr. Crays for a few years and I absolutely love her and her practitioners!!

Went to my first appointment with Dr Crays and she was nice and pleasant. Second appointment I went to which was rescheduled twice already she refused to see me because I had to bring my two small children with me because my husband was not home in time. I scheduled this appointment specifically so that my husband would be home it just happened to be a day he could not make it. I was told previously I was able to bring them when I asked. I emailed my concerns with management and all I got back was a letter terminating me as a patient without a phone call to even discuss the situation. Very unprofessional of that office as well as UW Swedish American.

I take a narcotic so i have to go see her. She accused me of missing or canceling appointments. When it was on their end. She has has a cold demeanor and is not very nice.

I read some negative reviews about Dr Crays. She was very pleasant and thought she was great. Staff was very friendly and am happy I changed doctors

I felt neglected. Nobody listen to me. It made me feel like I couldn't share anything with the doctor or staff. I was intimidated and it hurt my feelings so bad. I tell them what medications work for me and they put me on stuff that makes me worse. What happened to the patients come first? Ridiculous.

I have been seeing Dr. Crays for 14 or 15 years--first at Newburg Rd office then Roscoe and now Rockton. I have a very complicated medical history and she sorted it all out, got me diagnosed, and to the appropriate Specialists. Dr. Crays is always polite and professional--she listens to your concerns and answers questions in an easy to understand manner. She is a straight-shooter and makes sure you understand your medications or therapy or tests. My children and grandchildren also trust her and see her as well. Her staff is also pleasant and helpful. In the waiting room I rarely have time to sit down and the nurse is calling my name. If you want an honest, caring doctor, I recommend Dr. Crays. She is the worst, rudest, careless doctor I have ever had. Does not listen to concerns. Twice given medications I was allergic to (one sent me to the ER). If you call her out she will refuse to see you. You'd be better off to ask google for advice

She is the worst doctor I have ever met. she doesn't lsten, she's rude, she rushes, and she is careless. Twice I was prescribed medicine that I was allergic to, once ending up in the ER. I am a frontline employee who was late 10 minutes because of helping people in a pandemic. She refused to see me over it. The building was empty like 4 cars in the parking lot. As a person with an autoimmune disease, I still need a primary physician for other issues that arise. When I met Dr. Crays, she told me there was nothing she could do for my MS. To which I replied, I fully understand she is not a neurologist but I needed a primary doctor. Her personality is very cold. Condescending when asked us to defend ourselves when we refused HPV vaccination for our daughters. —-I recently found myself with an infected tonsil and scheduled an appointment for today. Only to drag myself there and the clinic refused to see me. I have no fever, no respiratory distress-just an infected tonsil that needs antibiotics. They told me to leave and go to Physician’s Immediate Care. I skipped their recommendation as it is a site for rapid covid tests and dangerous for me as an immune compromised person. I ended up at Rock Cut Crossing (They were shocked when I explained) where I was diagnosed with a tonsil abcess and got an antibiotic. Just skip this Swedish American clinic!!

Does not have good bedside manner, very short with her words. Walks in the room with a diagnosis based on symptoms you told the registration nurse and prescribed medication. I have left there more frustrated with her then the reason I made my appointments. This has happened more than once and I've decided for myself she's just not a good match for me and my Healthcare needs. Perks she had ideal appointment times.

I’m a front line employee who was 10 minutes late because I was helping people during a pandemic. This Doctor didn’t care and refused to see me for being late. Parking lot was empty. I lost wages, risk my health everyday I need my physical but this person only cares about herself. Can’t trust her with my health and the staff is rude.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Worst bedside manner I have ever seen. I literally was tearing up in the room because she was so heartless and rude. She will not listen to what you have to say, and even if she does, she says you are wrong and goes with her guess. Prescribed me medicine for something she didn't even test me for. As you can see Dr. Crays has a lot of 1 star ratings and she earned every one of them. She is rude and refuses to listen. She promotes addiction and when you question her she says she can’t see you anymore. I believe we all have a right to advocate for ourselves medically and to be heard. It’s possible that we know our bodies. She left me sick for 5 years for something I asked about several times and she said that couldn’t possibly make me sick. Well it did. I absolutely LOVE Dr Crays as well as both of her nurse practitioners. They take the time to listen without rushing, even when they are over booked.

Dr crays is a very good dr she listens to me if I have a problem right now she is helping me with my hips. I have bar's and places and screws in my hips. And she thinks my left one has moved so she is sending me to an orthopedic specialist so I hope they call and we can find out what is going on .

I like her and have been treated for my issues with her. That said, she does not have the best bedside manner as they call it! I was put off by her at first but have come to understand that's her way. I don't care if she's not the warmest person on the planet as long as she takes care of the medical issues that I have!

I firmly believe she plays favorites. I know someone who has been seeing her for 10+ years and they love her and recommended me to her with VERY high praise. When I went I felt like she didn't listen to what I was saying at all, especially when I brought up my intense anxiety, she shrugged it off. I wasn't even asking for medicine and was completely dismissed. However the person I know that has been seeing her for 10 years was prescribed Xanax without a second thought. I ended up having to find a therapist on my own. She also told me she was "in a hurry because she has so many patients" and basically made me feel rushed out of there. Also when I brought up being interested in weight loss surgery she told me I just need to learn to count calories.

2nd time i had appointment. They cancels. 2hen i call to schedule i have to get someone else. She is eathier to busy or there is schedule issue. But i take time off work. And angrys ne they call the day before.

She is the nicest doctor I've encountered. Kind and helpful with concerns I brought up. Gave me good suggestions for my husband as well. I'm very happy to have her as my primary physician.

I love Dr Crays and her staff! Some people may see her bedside manner as "stiff", but I choose to see it as professionalism, and "matter of fact". Terrible, Worst Dr ever. She has a very cold personality. Very poor bedside manner. it seems like when you tell her something, she just looks at you like your an idiot. She should not be treating patients with such a poor disposition.

She is RUDE and COLD HEARTED. Not the type of doctor you want for ANYONE, especially not my elderly mother. And her recommendations for my mother’s treatment were off the wall. She is.very mediocre. she doesn't get to know you. Each time you come in it is like a first visit. She doesn't know anything about you.Usually it is just seeing her nurse asst. I have hardly seen her. I needed her to give me one loranzaprol pill to calm me for a PETSCAN since my oncologist went out of town. She refused. I finally found a doctor to help me and they thought her attitude about not helping a patient's dilemma unconciounable. I feel she just doesn't care and I am just a stranger.

I have seen Dr Crays for 10+ yrs. To be honest, she could’ve refused to treat me because I’m a very complicated patient - however, I know that she could see when I first came to her that I was just a young mom of 2 desperate to find a good doctor who just cared about my treatment, & I found that in Dr. Crays. I see her at mandatory 2x a year, but it’s usually more like 4-6x, so I think I know her as a doc pretty well. She’s phenomenal & I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a good doc.

Had an appointment to establish care with Dr. Crays for my father in law today. He arrived 12 minutes late due to relying on a transportation company to get him to his appointments. I had been in the waiting room 15 minutes prior to his appointment time waiting for his arrival. Dr. Crays refused to see him because he was late, not of his own doing. Waited 2.5 months for this appointment because his previous PCP retired, took 1/2 a day off work to meet him there, and paid an outrageous transportation fee only NOT to be seen by Dr. Crays. I am a RN who works in a medical clinic myself and we see every patient who comes to our office by a transportation company no matter how late they are because the patient is relying on someone else to get them to their appointments. I think the doctor is good but the staff is the worst I have ever experienced. I called to find out where I needed to go for an MRI and still after 3 calls I went to the office. I have been going. To dr.gayle crays for years. I would recommend her to anyone. Very kind,always listens,have never had anything but the best care.The staff has always been very polite and helpful.

While I've read a few of the comments here and understand if anything is a source of stress, the medical needs of ourselves and families are. However, I can say that my experience was quite good. My son suffered a brain injury after an accident and due to my HMO needed a referral for rehabilitation. This doctor really went to bat for us with the insurance company and the network and made sure to follow through on getting us into an out of network facility that had initially been declined. She took what we wanted into consideration and made sue to advocate for us. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. In addition, she made sure to get us into the office almost immediately (which as we all know isn't common. This was especially challenging because he had never established with her). I have seen Dr Crays for over 10 years. I have NUMEROUS medical issues. I have read many of the reviews on here and, to be honest, I can not grasp how these people can be talking about the same doctor. I see her AT MANDATORY twice a year, usually quite a bit more because of all of my health issues - she has never “talked down” to me or spoken to me “like I am a child.” There have been times I have went into her office feeling completely helpless and like giving up because of all of the pain I live with on a day to day basis; she is always encouraging. (And btw, I am 31, and she has NEVER said to me “you’re too young to be this sick.” Ever. Not once. In fact, she’s always been empathetic because she understands I didn’t ask for what I’m going through.) She asks about my kids every time she sees me...and she genuinely cares how they’re doing. Look, there are many, many doctors who would probably look at my medical history and just refuse to see me - I have actually had that happen. I have been judged by so many doctors before I even walk into their office; so trust me when I say, I know what a rude, condescending doctor looks like. Is Doctor Crays thorough? Yes. Does she just blatantly prescribe medication based on what you say? No. She is definitely a doctor who likes to see you, talk to you, and get a good idea of what’s going on before handing out even antibiotics. I’ve been a patient of hers for over 10 years, she prescribed 99% of all my medication, and even so, she is the exact same way with me. I don’t mind it because I know she’s just trying to be the best doctor she can and thoroughly understand what’s going on with her patients before handing out medication that her they may not even need. I highly recommend Dr Crays to anyone I know. She could very easily throw her hands up and say, “you’re too complicated for me, I don’t want to be responsible if something goes wrong,” like many doctors would and have done with patients like me. However, she has always done her very best to give me the absolute best care. It’s hard being a mom of young kids and living with illnesses that mainly cause pain (chronic pancreatitis, lupus) and constant nausea and/or vomitting; it makes it a lot less stressful knowing I have a doctor who genuinely cares about making sure I have as many moments as possible where I feel at least slightly “normal” so I can be the best mom I can to my kids. She has been my family's PCP for a couple of years and I really like her. Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from as she and her staff have been awesome treating our general problems and a couple chronic issues. Dr. Crays is extremely rude and has zero bedside manner or compassion for patients in my experience. Using foul language and talking poorly about her assistant on my last visit. Saw her twice and will never go back. The facility and staff is nice apart from her. There are plenty of good doctors in the area, steer clear of Dr. Crays if at all possible.

I couldn't Agree more with the people that don't understand the negative and very rude reviews on this Amazing doctor. I have been seeing this doctor for years. In fact my mom and husband go to her as well. And my daughter will be a new patient of hers. She's excellent with our kids. We've been going there many years. Highly recommend!

I am very picky about doctors. When I had my appointment, she spent the time to actually get to know my health history. She took the time to listen and answer all my questions with professionalism. I was very pleased. Right after my appointment she saw my husband. Same treatment. She was awesome. She spent a lot of time with us. Many doctors rush. But not her! We are both very happy we have her as our doctor!
