I would like to address the comments dated December 8, 2018. I have worked with Dr. Pope for the past 10 years. Dr. Pope is an excellent thoracic surgeon and clinician. He always maintains the highest degree of professionalism with his patients and treats them with the utmost respect under his care. From my standpoint I think it is atrocious that people can make comments without telling the whole story.

He’s awful. Very disrespectful to the nurses and patients. Do not recommend.

Was very rude to nurse staff, didn’t properly explain care, and didn’t come post op or call as he said to tell family about how the surgery went.

If I could give zero stars I would. My boyfriend had surgery and he didn’t explain anything to him or his family or myself. He didn’t call after surgery, or come see us to let us know how everything went. He talked badly about other nurses in the hospital and was arrogant. I’m glad he’s leaving concord hospital.

Never came to tell us about my sons procedure, spoke very rudely about staff to my son before he went into surgery. He was supposed to call or come see us after the surgery was done and he never did. Seemed to me like he's more excited about leaving Concord Hospital to go to another hospital than care about his patients here at this moment. Do not recommend to anyone at the new place he will be practicing.

Dr Pope is not a very nice person. He is entitled and rude. Perhaps he should remember that everyone deserves respect. “The true measure of a man is how he treats you when others are not looking.” ? Alessandra Torre

I can't praise Dr. Pope and his staff highly enough. From the moment I met Dr. Pope I was glad that he would perform the 12 hour surgery that I required. His record for outcome of the surgery he performed on me speaks for itself - he is truly a "life saver"!! I enjoyed all my interactions with him, except the pain of the surgery:-(. His staff is very compassionate, thorough, competent and friendly, a great group to have take care of you.

I have only praise for all that Dr. Pope has done for me and my medical needs. I am extremely pleased with all my interactions with Dr. Pope, he is easy to talk too and listens even when I go off on a tangent. His medical skills are solid!! I had entertained going to Boston for my surgery but after researching and meeting with Dr. Pope, there was no way I was going to let any other surgeon do my operation. I really can't praise Dr. Pope enough!!
