Had upper and lower eye lid surgery due to facial paralysis limiting my ability to blink and naturally close my right eye. Dr. Gil Epstein monitored my eye over a few months and then determined that surgery was recommended due to the health of my cornea. Surgery procedure was smooth and uneventful and postop recovery was without a hitch or problem. Prior to surgery I suffered from extreme eye fatigue and constant tearing - no more. I can now blink and close my eye. Excellent Doctor. Kim (support staff) is excellent as well. Very personable lady with a tremendous amount of experience. I would unequivocally recommend Dr. Epstein and Kim for your eye care.

I am disappointed with the outcome of my eyelid surgery and believe that corrective action is necessary. I have experienced issues with the results of the surgery, and I am concerned about the lack of accountability on the part of the doctor. I will now request another surgeon to help address these issues, and hopefully achieve the best possible outcome.

Dr Epstein negative reviews are removed to mislead people. This is unethical.

Dr. Gil Epstein did me the greatest service by correcting my ptosis. I put off having the surgery until a minor fender bender (totally my fault) brought to the forefront just how much my “droopy eyelids” hindered my peripheral vision. Dr. Epstein & his office staff, especially Kim, could not have explained the procedure or guided me through the surgery more thoroughly. Highly recommend Florida Eye Institute for any eye procedures.

My husband and I both had upper/lower eye surgery. Dr. Epstein was professional, knowledgeable, and very kind. He took his time to answer all of our questions and discuss with us the various ways in which to perform this surgery for the best outcome. His assistant Kim, was also wonderful and guided us through phone calls and emails every step of the way post surgery. It was easy to contact his office and we always got a helpful answer to all of our questions and concerns. The outcome for both of us was excellent.

I recently underwent a blepharoplasty. Although I'm not used to writing reviews, Dr. Epstein did a fabulous job. Seven days later my eyes look in an advanced state of healing. Thanks to the good technique used in the surgery, the recovery process has been painless and easy. This shows that selecting a good and expert surgeon is your best choice when it comes to your health.

While the office is super busy and wait times a little excessive, Dr Epstein is worth it. His surgical skills in resolving my severe ptosis are awesome. He takes his time and actually discusses options and patient concerns. Very happy patient.

Dr. Epstein performed lower eyelid surgery on my wife and did a great precision surgery to help her. Post surgery his aides Kim and Smanatha were just wonderful in removing her stitches and making sure she was as comfortable as possible during the procedure and did it with great care. Great staff people.

Dr. Epstein repaired a cancer near my eye many years ago and did a fantastic job. Fast forward to present…I returned for eyelid surgery due to a few eye issues and aging. He’s the simply the best! Don’t let anyone touch your eyes except Dr Gil!

Dr. Gil Epstein is very kind, patient, and takes time to answer questions and explain. His associates have always been very nice as well. I was with Rochardo recently before seeing the doctor, and Rochardo was very nice, and very personable. Overall, Dr. Epstein and his staff have been great.

Overall amazing experience. Dr Epstein and staff were professional, caring and accommodating. I look 10 years younger excellent results.

Stitches removal

The services that I received from Dr. Epstein and his staff was excellent, they are professional friendly an ensure that I am properly informed about my procedure. Kim did an awesome job removing the stitches, I didn't feel pain she did it in no time and I didn't feel pain or anything uncomfortabl. I would have no doubt in recommending them to family and friends.

Had a 20 year old clogged tear duct finally resolved with surgery. Dr. Epstein is the best. Kind, explains everything in detail, office staff were wonderful. Surgery went well, painless. Now the healing. Would recommend him to anyone looking for results in this area of expertise

Dr. Epstein has a wonderful way in explaining his procedures. He is extremely thorough. My outcome with the eye surgery was successful and not painful at all. Recovery was shorter than I thought and I would recommend Dr. Espstein to anyone needing eye surgery. In fact, my wife had surgery by him and was also very happy with the outcome. He is a terrific doctor and surgeon.

It’s been almost 3 months since I had upper and lower eyelid surgery with Dr. Gil Epstein. My eyes look amazingly natural and I have no residual concerns. It’s so much easier putting in my contact lenses now that my eyes are wide open! Choosing Dr. Epstein was the easy part; I can’t even imagine finding another doctor with his expertise. Every person at the eye institute was kind and very knowledgeable. If you are considering this surgery with Dr. Epstein, then do it!

Dr. Gil Epstein changed my world. I did not realize how much my droopy upper lids impaired my vision. This doctor is an artist and a perfectionist He and his wonderful staff provided me concise information and instructions. I was very prepared. I appreciated how caring and kind everyone is on the staff. Peta, my surgical coordinator was especially patient with me. I heard, for many years that Dr. Gil is the top Ophthalmologist in South Florida. Luckily, I found out, first hand, that this is true.

I had a very difficult " lower eye lid surgery " due to skin cancer. Nurse Kim was very friendly and excellent at her job. Nurse Samantha was very helpful during the operation and beyond. Nurse Jenny was very friendly and helpful the one time I saw her. Dr. Epstein is also very friendly, knowledgeable and excellent surgeon. I have all the faith in the world that my final results will be excellent. I would highly recommend Dr. Epstein and his excellent team above to everyone.

Dr Gil Epstein was a god send I had received eye lid surgery from a dr at Cleveland Clinic some years ago which needed correction He repaired the problem and I am so grateful for his expertise He also has a great bedside manner which was very welcomed

Made a skin graft into an eyelid!

I recently had eyelid surgery done by Dr. Gil Epstein. As expected I was very nervous going in, but Dr. Epstein and his team were very understanding and put me at easy in no time. I am very happy with the results and would like to recommend Dr. Epstein !

I have booked an additional surgery with an eyelid specialist in Boca Raton to fix the overcorrection of my right eyelid after the surgery performed by Dr. Epstein. Out of my own pocket. I understand that results are not guaranteed but a little more compassion with my dismay with the results would have been welcome.

Dr. Epstein did a great job on my eyelid surgery. The results look natural, and my vision has improved. I would recommend him for any ophthalmology need.

I was diagnosed with cancer in my lower eye lid and it was removed by Mohs surgery{ and left me with big hole ) the next day i had a appointment with Dr. Epstein at the Baptist Eye Surgery to have Reconstructive Surgery and Just want to say that Dr. Epstein did the greatest job closing up this big hole and he has the best bedside manners because he keeps me informed before & after what is going on all the time. all I can say he is the BEST AT WHAT HE DOES !! Dr. Epstein was great. Corrected a 40 year old tear duct issue via reconstructive surgery . The Office staff was exceptional. Appointments pre-op and post-op all ran smooth. Dr. Epstein was always available to speak with me about any concerns. He also personally called to follow-up after surgery for about 3 weeks postop. I highly recommend Dr. Epstein as a Surgeon and the Medical Practice as a whole.

Dr. Epstein is an excellent doctor and surgeon. He spends time with his patients and explains things to them fully. I highly recommend him to anyone having eye problems.

Dr. Gil Epstein was simply extraordinary ! I am also grateful to Peta who was also amazing, especially with the daunting challenges of scheduling and canceling with Covid-19. I first consulted Dr. Epstein about having upper and lower blepharoplasty. He was extremely informative and calming, taking time to explain exactly what he would do. I particularly chose Dr Epstein because of previous eye surgery that left my eyes drier. I expressed these concerns to him and he reassured me that he would take care in this regard. With the Coronavirus pandemic the procedure needed to be postponed. I was finally able to have the surgery at the end of June 2020. I am now about 16 weeks post op, and I am extremely pleased with the result. My eyes no longer look or feel tired. What a difference it made, I am so thankful to him. I highly recommend Dr. Gil Epstein and his office.

I had a basal cell carcinoma of my eyelid in Nov., 2019. He was highly recommended by my primary Dr. I was scared to death. He did a good job, even though it took quite a while to heal, which is normal. Any time I called there for anything, either the Dr. or one of his assistants always called me back promptly. I would highly recommend him.

I recently had Dr. Gil Epstein perform a surgical procedure. Dr. Epstein took much time to explain what needed to be done and every detail that went along with the surgery. Everything was MASTERFUL, kind, caring and nothing was left to be concerned with. I now see better than ever and am grateful to Dr Epstein ( along with his staff) Joseph Marchese

I traveled 18 miles to see Dr. Epstein. At arrival in this office I was charged $180 and was informed I could see the Dr. very soon. After one hour I was informed that the wait time would be another 90 minutes minimum. This is a total disregard to the patient time. It is not a dignified way to treat a patient with a scheduled visit. If you have an entire day to see a Dr. that does not care for your time this is the Dr. to make an appointment with! The cancellation of the charge took another 20 minutes. The printer was not working. Botton line: 26 miles traveled, 3 and a half hours wasted with a professional that just does no care.

After a charge of $180 I was informed that the Dr. would see me immediately. One hour passed. When I asked when would I be seen the response was another 90 minutes. This reveals a professional that values his time in detriment of the patient's time. This is not fair. Botton line: I drove 36 miles, spent 3.5 hours just for the carelessness of Dr. Epstein. If you have time to spent this is the Dr. to go. Bring a brown bag!

After having had reconstructive surgery of both my eyes, I could not agree more with this quote. Dr. Epstein brings a compassion and humanity to his practice and surgical suit that is unmatched in American medicine today. While Epstein's practice is within a large, multi-doctor setting, each patient receives the needed individual care. There can be waiting time but it is worth the wait. I had skin cancer removed from my eyelid . Then, Dr. Epstein "sewed it up"! He did a great job. You would never know the the eyelid was cut open!

Dr. Epstein performed surgery on my droopy eyelids. The experience I have had with Dr. Epstein and the office has been tremendous. The office staff is friendly and has kept me informed of all the details of the process. The surgery and its aftermath was fairly painless, and I was able to go out with sunglasses after a couple days (The bruising lasted for a couple of weeks). Moreover, Dr. Epstein did a great job on my eyelids. I have been complimented on multiple occasions about how my eyes look after the surgery mainly by well informed women. My eyes also seem to feel a lot less tired at the end of the day (I do recommend that you have lubricating eyedrops handy for the dryness especially if you have previously had Lasik surgery). The man is a true artist as well as a skilled physician. I highly recommend that anyone undergoing ptosis surgery or related procedures go see Dr. Epstein.

I had ptosis of the left eye and my eyelid gradually kept getting lower and lower so that it was difficult to see. Dr. Epstein fixed both eyes so they would be the same and now I can see. I can't believe how many people have noticed the difference. The process was exactly as was explained to me. My only negative was getting an initial appointment and subsequent appointments - Dr. Epstein is very busy! I waited 6 months from my initial call for an appointment until my actual surgery.

I just recently had right eyelid, basal cell carcinoma removed and repaired by Dr. Epstein. This man has been given Gods gift of brilliance in this field. The most personable, calming, professional physician that I’ve ever had. Don’t waste your time searching for a surgeon in this field. Dr. Epstein is the go ophthalmologist!

Dr. Epstein removed a basal cell from my 93 year old father's eyelid and reconstructed it entirely. Dad had his final check back today and the results are miraculous. He had the best possible result, far beyond what we'd hoped for. Dr Epstein's gift encompasses his entire being, not just his surgical skills. This gentle earnest manner carries over to his staff. I recommend him with a high degree of confidence.

Dr. Epstein did both my upper and lower lids. WOW. Anytime you have surgery like this you are nervous and concerned. Dr. Epstien puts you at ease from moment one. It's not just that he has seen it all before (he has), it's more that he understands your concerns and will do everything in his substantial powers to put you at ease. Yes, you will look "natural". Yes, he knows you don't want it to look like you "had work done" (you won't). And yes, you should do this now and stop procrastinating.
