I went to Dr. Ortega because of issues with a plate in my leg. I was immediately given the green light for surgery, the surgery was WITHIN A WEEK, and I was back up and running (literally) within 2 weeks. I have never had such awesome medical care before; and the medical community should takes notes from this provider!

A great experience

I had tried a few treatments fo my knee arthritis before I came to see Ortega. Nothing had worked so I was skeptical that a knee replacement would work. It has been a year and I am very happy with how my surgery went. I was back to the golf course soon after surgery...now I am able to walk a full 18.

Dr. Ortega is a very compassionate provider. My experience has been phenomenal!

I just completed my third gelsyn knee injection and so far I am having good results. Less pain.

Dr Gilbert Ortega is extremely knowledgable in his field of orthopedics. I had a broken shoulder and patella. His mannerism was a blessing as I was in alot of pain and discomfort. Dr. Ortega went through every step that I would have to do for my 2 injuries without having surgery. This was wonderful news to my ears. I trusted him and have great respect for Dr. Ortega. It's tough when you are going through injuries with all the down time and recooperation period. Having a doctor like Dr. Gilbert Ortega give you that feeling of belief that you will be whole again is more than words could ever explain. I thank God every day for putting me in his path for him to be my physcian and will never forget his kindness and understanding. I am grateful and would like to share this with everyone and say I an walking again and my shoulder healed I owe a great deal to Dr. Gilbert Ortega and his amazing team! After 6 weeks, my total hip replacement has recovered and allows me to do a lot of activities that I was no longer able to do before my surgery. I am happy with my surgery.

I'm so happy with my total hip that Dr. Ortega did. I wish I saw him first as he spent a lot of time with me going through all my options.

I broke my acetabular which is part of my hip in February. I was so worried that I would not be able to Golf again. I am happy to report that just this week I was able to get back on the course. Dr. Ortega is a very kind man. The staff were very accommodating. They have taken great care wearing masks and spacing out wait room times during COVID. I have felt safe coming to my appointments.

I absolutely love everything about Dr. Ortega and his staff. I felt welcomed right from the first appointment. The office is always clean and friendly. I could not imagine having my knee replaced by any other surgeon.

I had been suffering from hip pain for as long as I can remember. It used to stop me from being active. I was reluctant to have surgery because I was doubtful that it would help and did not know what the recovery would be like. I did a lot of research to find the right doctor. Dr. Ortega has a very impressive background and has had a lot of training. The reviews were good so I met with him. I liked him right away. He was thorough and very detailed. I then felt at ease to have my surgery. During the hospital he made me feel very comfortable before surgery. He does a newer approach where they operate from the font instead of the back so my incision was small. I had little pain after surgery and went home the next day. I have recovered quickly and walking without my cane now. I am so happy that I chose to have my hip replaced with Dr. Ortega. Job Well Done!

I cannot say enough about how Dr. Ortega has helped me through my traumatic journey. He is thorough, compassionate and really takes the time to talk with you. I am able to go to the gym and work out again as of today. Thank you for all of your care.

They refused to take my insurance information and bill for out-of-pocket so I paid with a credit card. I was promised that a receipt including all of the information I would need would be sent to me, via email, that afternoon. It is now 3 weeks later and they refuse to send me what I need via email. My mother broke her pelvis 9 weeks ago & ended up with Dr Ortega as her Dr at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Only saw him once during this 9 week process. Had a follow up visit scheduled for 10-16-18 & was told to get an x-ray about a week prior. My mom is in a group home & unable to travel, but I was advised by her physical therapist that a company could do the x-rays at her group home. When I called to set it up, Dr Ortega's order for an x-ray was too advanced for the mobile x-ray to perform & he wouldn't alter his order to help her. As a result, I fired him as her Dr & cancelled any future appointments. Don't waste your time, find a Dr that has a better bedside manner. Dr. Ortega is the best because he is genuine. He remembers that we are people and not a number. He takes his time to know you and not just what you are being treated for. He is a caring doctor that allows you to be a part of your care plan.
