Dr. Gregory J Gilot

Dr gilot if I should even call him a doctor did multiple surgeries on my shoulder and the outcome was terrible. He failed and neglected his duties as a doctor after I found out from another surgeon my shoulder was infected once again. Gilot did not care to see why I was in so much seven months after my last surgery and did nothing to investigate it. All he offered me was prp which did absolutely nothing. It’s sad I am under the care of another doctor who is taken the initiative to repair and fix my shoulder correctly. Stay far away from this guy unless u want further problems in the future.

My wife, age 75, has full tears in her right shoulder's supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons including muscle atrophy and moderate fatty infiltration and tendinosis. An MRI showed massive, irreparable rotator cup damage! Dr Gregory Gilot, at the Cleveland Clinic Weston Florida, recommended a reverse right shoulder replacement. The surgery was performed by Dr Gregory Gilot on August 6th, about a two hour procedure. After I waited a very anxious, stressful morning, the surgeon called me and said that the reverse shoulder replacement went great! In addition, her biceps tendon was torn and needed surgery. She experienced pain, swelling and discomfort for a little over a week. Sherry is now four weeks past surgery. The swelling seems to be gone. The 3" scar is thin, straight and faint! She is in her third week of rehab and at-home rehab exercises. Her arm and shoulder feel really good. We are amazed at her fast recovery and lack of discomfort! The skilled surgeon was Gregory Gilot at the Cleveland Clinic, Weston Florida. He speaks Creole, English and French and has been doing reverse shoulder replacement surgery for many years. We are overjoyed with the results! She no longer has to live with a chronically painful right shoulder! Edit 2/23/2021: Now over six months later, shoulder feels great! No pain. Almost full function! I went to Dr. Gilot 3 months ago for a broken clavicle. I did not require surgery, sling and physical therapy. BUT I met with him several times and he was thorough, all tests done to confirm. He could have talked me into surgery, as some would do, but he didn't. Said "let's try this first." I healed super duper fast. My point is that even tho not that serious, he spent time with me and did not brush me off in 10 minutes. Nurse was wonderful, PA wonderful. Very wonderful experience. Dr Gilot was wonderful! I went to see him for calcium deposits on my shoulder only to find out that is not his specialty. He told me about another Doctor at The Cleveland Clinic who does specialize in the procedure I was looking for. He went out of his way to go talk to the other Doctor and got me an appointment that day! Plus, he said he would forgo the copay because I was given misinformation! A real nice, caring doctor! I went through an unsuccessful shoulder surgery, with Gilot. In recovery room, I asked him how the surgery went.His reply; I won’t waste my time telling you now, because you won’t remember anything. I never saw him again, even though I went to his office for 3 worthless follow ups with PA,and asking to see the Doctor. Stay away from this Doctor.

Had to have shoulder replacement done by someone else after he botched job. No return phone calls from him or his p.a. Do your homework. Stay away from.

Dr. Gilot was always very pleasant and conserned with my previous condition before he would operate. After clearance from my cancer doctor, I had complete shoulder replacement surgery. Everything was a success and I have no pain. I would recommend Dr. Gilot to anyone and his staff is top notch. I recommend Cleveland Clinic to anyone. Ronald McCord Frankton, Indiana

A waste of time. I have been in pain since early Nov., and I had to convince the dr to order an MRI to make sure there wasn't anything internally. Though he ordered xrays in his office, he never showed me them. He was disinterested in my condition. I sent him many emails requesting an order for pain mgmt. To date, there is no order for pain mgmt on file in MyChart, a patient portal of sorts provided and managed by the Cleveland Clinic. Shame on him! What an embarrassment to the Clinic he is.

Always pleasant and informative. Explained everything prior to surgery and post op. Repaired my rotator cuff and I've recommended him and will continue to do so. His entire team is top notch!

I should have read previous reviews before I went but didn’t. My fault. All the negative comments you read on various review sites are positively true. I could never recommend this doctor to treat any patient for any reason due to his lack of compassion. He spent a total of four minutes with me and left his assistant to do all the work (not a doctor). Why Cleveland clinic tolerate this behavior after all the negative reviews I don’t know. Avoid! We go to doctors for help. We expect that they will, at the very least, be professional and do the right thing for patients when they are in that examination room unsupervised. This guy has found the perfect place to hide his burn out. He is clever, condescending and rides the professional/unprofessional cusp like a real wise guy. My first visit with him as quick. He looked at radiographic studies but never performed any physical exam.He referred me to a spine surgeon because of one of my complaints. The spine surgeon he sent me to asked why I was there. i explained that Gilot sent me. He said you don't need spine surgery. So back to this guy I go. This time the story changes. In the second visit he performed a test that almost brought me to my knees and brought me to tears from the pain. Then his tune changed.. "You could have, it may be, there's a 10% chance surgery might help, etc.. He placed lots of doubt in my decision making with no other options; PT, injection, etc.. then it became rapid fire, "so what do you want to do, what do want to do, what do you want to do" at everything I said or asked. I do not want surgery from him, that's for sure. I can only imagine what he would be like in surgery. He is right when he says in his video that he assesses the entire patient. I am very latin looking. I am in pain and not presenting very well. My arm does not work from the injury I sustained from a fall onto my shoulder, no doubt a triple crush. I have been in the medical profession for over 25 years. I have taught about mechanism of injury. i know the injuries that could be sustained from the type of fall I took. He solidified my thoughts about him when he said "bueno?" when I opted not to have surgery. I doubt he says "bueno" to all of his patients. I got "bueno" because i am latin. My last name and the way I look is latin. Disgust is all I feel for this guy. He is the type of doctor that keeps people from seeking help and gives medicine a bad name. This isn't the first "specialist" that I've encountered at Cleveland Clinic that presents as though they are burnt out. I could be wrong. It could just be plain old racism. I don't care what it is, it is wrong. I have reached out to the ombudsman's for 2 other doctors. Their job is to justify their doctors bad actions and protect the hospital. so it is a waste of time. Not all of the doctors in Cleveland clinic are like this guy. There are many who are great. It is guys like this that ruin it for the rest. Not good (bueno), Gilot. Dr. Gilot is not interested in th patient's problem. He is sending his assistant and spend only 30 seconds with me. Result of 2 visits was Zero for my health but the cost of my insurance company a ton of money. I strongly advise not to go to this doctor with their problems.

I was discharged in crucial pain after arthroscopic knee surgery. Pain pills weren't working. There was no doctor Gilot, no pain management doctors in post- operating room for 2 hours, only nurses. In 3 hours I was back in emergency room. Operation was suppose to last for 1 hour, I was there from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. , and back in 9p.m. Dr. Gilot didn't explain what happened in the operating room or what he had done for my knee when I saw him in 2 days. Got ahead of myself and arrived an hour and 30 minutes before my appointment. The receptionist said I should check in anyway, they might still see me. Lo and behold, they called me in before I finished paying my bill. Was seen by an AT and then Dr. Gilot. The doctor was pleasant and attentive. Im out of here in 30 minutes. The best you can get

Never had a doc unwilling to write a note for my job/school. I needed a note specifying restrictions for my job to keep from worsening my injury. This doc wouldn’t hear me out & would cut me off mid-sentence. Good thing my boss listened to me & understood what I was going through. I would never recommend Dr. Gilot to a patient due to his lack of professionalism & unwillingness to protect his patient. If you go to him, I hope you have a better experience than I did. Unprofessional and incompetent. Takes every question as an insult to his intelligence (or lack thereof). Easily intimidated and quick to be defensive in the presence of someone more knowledgeable. Would strongly advise against him unless one wants to waste time and money only to walk out of his office in more pain than when they walked in. I imagine an ape in a white coat would be more competent. Absolute disgrace to the Cleveland Clinic.

I wanted to thank Dr. Gilot and his amazing team for doing such a wonderful job fixing my shoulder. He is simply an amazing surgeon I have worked with to fix my aliments. Besides being a great Doctor has one of the best bed side manner of any doctor that I worked with. Now that I am 3.5 weeks post op my shoulder feels nearly perfect and my PT makes it better each and every day and I am thrilled that I chose to work with him. I feel amazing and am excited to hit the ball this weekend.

Dr. Gilot is very pleasant and personable. More importantly, he is knowledgeable. So far, my condition has improved and I feel 100% better. Even my colleagues at work have commented on my improvement. During my last visit he laid out a continued treatment plan with me. He also showed interest in the other things I was doing on my own to improve my condition. He was very reassuring about my choices. I highly recommend Dr. Gilot!

I did not know Dr. Gilot. i was lucky to be introduced to him when I called Cleveland Clinic, requesting an orthopedic to repair a torn rotator cuff. I had seen another doctor prior to seeing Dr. Gilot. Dr. Gilot, was very friendly and interested in hearing my situation. He made me feel very comfortable and he tried to minimize my anxiety and concerns. He answered all my questions, he gave me his professional opinion and explained to me my problem and how he would repair it. I was very impressed

Pleased with my experience with Dr. Gilot, wish I had more time to spend with the doctor. Thought of more questions shortly after the doctor left regarding PRP and stem cell treatment. MRI and report indicates a tear of the labrum doctor was not impressed or surprised by results, wasnt quick to rush into surgery.

Love this doctor! Very personable. Everyone I've seen him he has been on time. He is attentive yet quick. Perfect if you have time constraints.

I highly recommend Dr. Gilot. He performed surgery on my shoulder last year and this year he performed surgery on my other surgery. He is very caring and takes time to explain your diagnosis and treatment plan. In my case, I needed surgery and both surgeries had great results. He ordered physical therapy and is very professional and knowledgeable. I drove an hour to Cleveland Clinic Florida for every visit...totally worth it!

I never feel rushed by Dr. Gilot. He asked the time to explain his diagnosis and plan for treatment. I have a high degree of confidence in him and his staff. Last and important o me, he is a kind and caring person.

Tell Dr Gilot that the cortizone shot helped alot first full night sleep in months
