Dr. James R Sunners

Dr Sunners office is kind and caring and completely nonjudgmental. I have had intense dental anxiety which has been hard to come back from since Covid. I knew I needed work done but was so nervous to hear how bad it was. Dr. Sunners and his staff welcomed me and made me so comfortable and (almost) excited to get my mouth fixed up. If you are looking for a safe caring space this office is your best bet!

I known Dr Sunners at least 18 to 20 years and I have to say I never knew a better and caring dentist. I seen him recently and he's still that guy. No one likes going to a dentist let's face it but truly it doesn't bother me he's that good! He takes his time and will do the procedure like your family, just a very good dentist who cares!!! One more thing, I use to live down the street from his office but moved about 65 miles that was 2009 and I still see him, that has that has to say something.

I contacted Dr. Sunners on a Saturday night. I wasn’t a current patient but my dentist wasn’t returning my calls and I was having a dental emergency. Dr. Sunners talked through my issue with me, found a dental surgeon to see me on a Sunday, and coordinated my care. He called several times to follow up with me, and I will be switching to his office for my dental needs. The service I received from this provider was phenomenal and I highly recommend his dental practice.

Dr. Sunners is a great dentist and a very amiable person with very competent and friendly staff. He does not push anything on you as a patient and finds the path of least resistance with his interventions. He saved me from needing a crown on a chipped tooth that another doctor told me I needed. He also enlists other experts in the dental community (endodontists) for their specialized knowledge before proceeding with a filling that might cause damage. Dr. Sunners is a patient, kind and competent Dentist. My 10 year old son was very concerned when he learned he needed a filling. He was consumed with anxiety anticipating his appt. Dr. Sunners called us at home in the evening to discuss what was going to happen well in advance and address my son's concerns. I was referred to Dr. Sunners about a year ago and he has been great. Great chair side presence. Easy to talk to and to follow along with. I'm impressed with the fact he takes time to walk through treatment details (as much as you want him to). He's more interested in your care than your billing and that's a great thing.

Dr. Sunners saw me the same day I called and made a call to an endodontist who saw me immediately after leaving Dr. Sunners office. He referred me to an oral surgeon who saw me the same day and started treatment. Dr. Sunners checked in with me that night to find out what had happened and how I was feeling. I work with a temp agency, so I travel to many different practices often! To say that Doctor Sunners practice goes above and beyond is a huge understatement! During this pandemic, all we want is to feel safe, protected and know that we are in hands we can trust wether we are traveling health professionals or patients who understandably are nervous! The greatest dentist my family has ever been to. His caring and gentle approach has changed my kids anxiety of going to the dentist. Very good, caring, he takes his time and very gentle. His staff is the same way! I've been seeing Dr Dinners at least 15 years and he's been the same! For the past 10 years I've been living a good distance away but I won't even think about changing dentist. I would definitely recommend him!

Dr. Sunners and his great team are an absolutely fantastic, unique group of people. He is hands down the best dentist my husband and I have ever had, and the hygienist Dina is the one-of-a-kind professional as well. Never before have I realized a visit to a dentist could be such a delightful, gentle and fun experience, aside from the highest quality of their work! Regular maintenance, cleaning, crowns, fillings - all of these procedures were done at an exceptional level and with unparalleled grace, care and thoroughness. My husband and I are true fans of Dr. Sunners, Dina and their wonderful assistant Daiga and our only regret is that this survey is limited to 5 stars, as we would give them so much more! Dr. Sunners and I go way back to when I was in my mid teens. He really pays attention to all the little details, reassures his capability to help your teeth stay strong and motivates to make sure we take care of our teeth. I for one have been a patient for 20+ years and trust that he will do an excellent job in his practice. His front desk, hygienist and his assistant also do great work! Every appointment is great. Each time I come in to get work done, there is never any pain. Able to squeeze me in without seeming like it's a bother. Even got my wife to switch dentists and she was ecstatic and thrilled (have to get those brownie points when I can!). Highly recommend!

For someone who hates going to the dentist, he has a gentle way about him and I feel more comfortable in the dental chair now that I go to him. I’ve had a number of work done on my teeth and I can truly say he does a great job. I’ve been very satisfied with the work he’s done over the years and would highly recommend him

The most fun I've ever had at the dentist. Dr. Sunners spent more time with me than I think any doctor has previously. I'm so used to exams where the doctor is staring down at a laptop or clipboard avoiding eye contact I forgot how to ask questions about my own medical health! Very knowledge to boot!

Going to Dr. Sunners is easy, efficient, and effective. The whole team, from the front desk manager, dental hygienist, insurance expert, to the dentist and his assistant, give amazing care and have ‘going to the dentist’ be a pleasure.

Dr Sunners is one of the best doctors that I have ever known! He is very kind, calm, approachable and listens to each and every concern. He always made me comfortable during all dental procedures involving filling and crown fitting. He is not only a good doctor but also a good human being. He was in constant touch with me over the weekend regarding a toothache that needed immediate root canal. He made sure that I was able to get the earliest possible appointment with an endodontist. Dr. Sunners is an amazing dentist. His staff is great. I can't say enough good things about my experience as a patient. I have been to a lot of dentist over the years due to moving around alot and I can confidently say he is the best. I have recommended him to friends and family as well and they have had great results as well.
