Dr. Jennifer V Lusa

My first (and thankfully, only) visit to this provider was an enormous disappointment. First off, she seemed really uppity and stuck up - almost snooty in a way. Sorry, but that’s honestly how I’d felt: like she was judging me and looking down upon me, which is obviously the last thing that anyone would want in a clinical provider. But the vibe was just way off. The scornful looks of disapproval stamped all over her face, the closed body language, the penetratingly glaring (borderline hostile) facial expressions - all of it was unmistakably palpable. And then she opened her mouth and proceeded to just rip me to shreds, piece by piece. (Metaphorically, of course; not literally.) But seriously, the woman just totally annihilated my self-esteem, my dignity, and my self-worth as a human being. Or at least, that’s what she’d attempted to do. She just went on and on and on………. on this long, drawn out diatribe of hers, accusing me of being (and I quote): “a lousy spouse and parent who needed to stop wallowing in their own self-induced pity, face the facts, and stop relying on everyone else’s pity and sympathy as a crutch to hobble on, throughout the rest of [my] life.” Seriously, all jokes aside - and I’m not even exaggerating right now, those were Jennifer Vanessa Lusa’s EXACT words to me, word-for-word!!! Totally aghast with disgust and shock, I’d literally just sat there for several seconds in disbelief - before obviously getting up and just walking out of her office without even saying a word in response. It was honestly the worst experience that I’ve EVER had with a clinical provider!! There was a lot of other hurtful, ignorant stuff that this woman had also said to me, including how I was “addicted to my own self-created pity party in much the same way that an addict craves drugs.” To say that this particular clinical provider, Jennifer Vanessa Lusa is cold, stoic, callous, and uncaring would definitely be the understatement of the century. My personal assessment of this particular provider is that she epitomizes all of the characteristics (judgmental, ignorant, extremely narrow-minded, and just down hateful) that virtually all patients would NOT want in any clinical provider that they see. After just one visit only, this woman causes a patient to feel even worse about themselves than what they’d first felt, prior to her sessions. Just steer clear of this provider here. You’ll definitely thank yourself later!!

Worst session with a clinician ever! Provider was really obnoxious the entire time. Never once validated mine or my child's feelings or belief systems. Doesn't value patient feedback or place any value into family input regarding treatment. Believes that only her opinions and viewpoints count. Extremely narrow-minded and rigid. Definitely NOT someone I would ever recommend to anyone else. Save yourself the aggravation. This clinician is just bad news all around!

Well..... this practitioner certainly wasn't "amazing" for me. Every single one of my interactions with her, sadly, consisted of her deliberately humiliating me publicly in front of others, while setting me up for failure. Every time that I was around this woman, I felt worse and worse about myself, until I eventually learned that it probably wasn't me after all with the 'problem'...... This practitioner epitomizes the exact opposite of everything that I respect and value in true clinical "professionals", including the ability to remain empathetic, understanding, and cut people some leeway - especially when they're going through a very difficult time in their life. So for all of those reasons (and a few others that I probably wouldn't have enough space to list here on this Healthgrades site), I would probably be rather reticent to recommend Jennifer V. Lusa to anyone else in need of true compassion from a qualified clinical professional. Sorry for the blunt feedback, but there it is.

Dr. Lusa is amazing. I have complex trauma and she is by far the best therapist I have been to in thirty years. We do EMDR and she is as fearless and as brave as I have hoped for and needed.

It was very awful.

I honestly feel like her demeanor is way too rigid and uptight and she seems kind of stuck up and prissy.. or at least that's how I felt during our treatment sessions together. But she does seem to have a lot of knowledge and education, just not very relatable or approachable in my view.

A bad experience for me so I will not be returning back here. The therapist seemed too self-centered and bragged a lot.

I would not recommend Dr. Jennifer Lusa. I feel like she's too conceited and does not value the opinions of others. I feel like she is in the wrong profession.

These sessions weren't very productive or effective. Most of our time wasn't spent very well. This psychologist didn't offer me very good advice. I didn't feel like she was even really listening very much to what I was saying. Plus her approach and her style seemed very stiff and rigid, not too engaging or welcoming. Probably don't plan on coming back again.

Just a total and complete narcissist if ever there was one!! The only thing she did during each of my sessions was non-stop bragging about herself and all her career accomplishments! (How much schooling and degrees she had, what she's "great" at doing, et cetera) This woman certainly doesn't show any of the empathy or active listening skills like a good clinician should. Instead, all she seems to care about is bragging non-stop about herself, and she seems like a really insecure narcissist!!
