He is a good and caring man, very talented, smart and thoughtful. Great listener and worth listening to.

Had my first visit and was extremely impressed with Dr Beaulieau. He took his time and was extremely detailed in his assessment. For the first time I actually felt like I had a visit with a Dr and wasn't just a number. Would recommend him without hesitation!

Dr Beaulieu is an excellent doctor who actually listens to his patients. He does not rush through appointments and is very caring and thorough. I’m hoping he never retires.

Dr Beaulieu is great! I have been going to him for close to 30 years. He truly cares about his patients and goes out of his way to know them as only a real PCP would. Doc is extremely knowledgeable and conscientious. He has never failed me, and I have had complete confidence in him for 30 years.

I have been at Dr. Beaulieu’s practice for a few years and he is the best! He makes time to discuss any questions you may have and gives you a very detailed summary of your case. I highly recommend him!

Initially I was very impressed with the practice. The doctor spent a lot of time asking questions. However, at the end of the appointment, he told me I would need to make another appt to get my blood results and discuss them. Like most insurances, after the physical which is paid for by my insurance 100% I would need to pay out of pocket for another appt. He never even bothered mailing the results to me. Seemed like a money grab on his part. Then everything took a turn even worse. Even though my insurance was supposed to cover physicals 100%, I got billed by a third-party company, Quest Diagnostics (shady, check them out on BBB) for the blood work I had done. For the past year, I dealt with Beaulieu's business office trying to have the bill recoded since I should have been covered. They kept saying that they would talk to Quest about re-coding the bill so I wasn't charged. But it was a complete runaround. I'm not sure they ever followed up because, even after about 4 phone calls, I continued to get the same bill. Finally, I called my insurance company and they informed me that Beaulieu's office staff was at fault because they requested several blood analysis items that were not covered. Further, they told me that the office could have easily have checked this with them, but they didn't bother. In a nutshell, I ended up paying for a physical that was supposed to be 100% covered (at the risk of my bill being sent to a collection agency). Update: Now Quest Diagnostics is trying to charge my wife for blood work that is supposed to be 100% covered. So despite the Covid-19 press they've been getting, they've confirmed that they're a shady, money-grabbing company. That said, I don't exonerate this doctor's practice. As mentioned, I gave the business manager (secretary?) several opportunities to help me resolve the issue and every time she said she was going to take care of it and never did. To be fair, after I left this review, she did call and leave a message asking me to give her a call (but with no offer to repay what I was charged.) I didn't bother calling back. I am so late in giving a review for Dr. Beaulieu. After working with him for 16 years I had to leave his practice because we moved out of state. He will take time to hear you out. He will give you another perspective, sometimes even counter to popular mainstream thought. I LOVE this about him! He is interested in your true health not a medicated masked version of health. He has a super balanced approach - coaching you in a healthy lifestyle and brings medication into that lifestyle as needed. And...he will go beyond the call of duty to help you. I would absolutely NOT go to this doctor. Please find any other physician. Any. This doctor is judgmental, doubts patients, and is not available to respond to patients' needs. I recently moved into the area and was looking for a PCP. Dr. Beaulieu had relatively good reviews and had his own private practice. I wanted to support a local business, so I decided to begin seeing him. The first appointment went relatively well, and I thought he was the type of doctor who cared a great deal about his patients. The second appointment and every interaction since then has been terrible, however. During the first appointment, he drew blood and we talked about my medical issues. I told him I had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease through a blood test when I was 17. I also told him fatigue was an issue. Dr. Beaulieu requires that patients come back for a follow-up appointment post-bloodwork rather than just mail them their results. I guess that helps him earn more money. But whatever. I decided my health was important, so a second appointment it was - even though I had to leave work early to get there in time. During the second appointment, it turned out that a) he tested me for the same autoimmune disease I told him that I have, and it seemed clear that he did not believe I actually had it and was simply making it up and b) he did not test me for anything related to my current fatigue. He did 2 standard blood tests in addition to testing me for an autoimmune disease - which I have a diagnosis for - and neither of them connected to fatigue at all. He essentially completely dismissed what I had to say. The whole retesting for this autoimmune disease felt like a way for him to "catch" me making this up. I asked him why he tested for this, and his response was that "He had doubts that I had it” (even though a blood test confirmed this and I have all the symptoms that go with it...) After reading a previous review, I suspect it was a money grab on his part. He of course said I do not have this autoimmune disease based on this unnecessary blood test in spite of 17 years of medical records that say that I do. During this same appointment, he also told me that Vitamin C was as effective as many vaccines (???) Also, guess what? My insurance will not cover a test that I did not need - i.e., the autoimmune disease test. So I get to pay out of pocket for that. There was zero need to test for it except for him to feel good. I then ran out of an important prescription. It was originally prescribed by a different doctor who can no longer prescribe it - I was living abroad for the past two years, and so the prescription that I had was only valid in that country. Knowing that it might be awhile before I could find a PCP, I stocked up before coming back to the U.S., but just ran out. I called two weeks ago, and could not get in touch with anyone. I called his office 6 times today - during regular business hours - hoping to talk to Dr. Beaulieu and get this prescription phoned in. Instead - when the phone was actually answered by an answering service - I was told I would be called back within 30 minutes or less. Surprise surprise - I was not. When I called back and talked to the "service" a second time they asked if I had somehow blocked the number on my phone. When I called back the third time, they told me they were putting me on hold, then hung up. I called back a fourth time. I was told Dr. Beaulieu left a message for me. That message was “Call back Monday.” I am now at urgent care waiting to see if I can get a prescription for this medicine. It is frustrating to have a PCP who is too lazy to even call in a prescription. If you think that using a private practitioner will mean more individual attention from your PCP, you are absolutely wrong. Choose another one. I would absolutely NOT go to this doctor. Very nice doctor with a conservative approach which I like. Unfortunately the conservative approach resulted in serious conditions not being diagnosed. I asked for a scan in June after five months of serious problems. After moving to a new PCP, my condition was diagnosed within 24 hours and a CT scan revealed a mass. I experienced similar challenges the year before with tests and the wrong antibiotics prescribed. I also found limited help with referrals to specialists.

Dr. Beaulieu is THE BEST. He is smart, keeps current on things, and you just know he cares. I can count on him and his staff. When you are sick, he is the man you want. He takes the time to answer questions. ALL OF THE ONES YOU HAVE. Write them down and bring them. He will take the time to make sure you understand. He is committed to health not just packing you up with pills. He will give you what you need and also educate you on alternatives.

Dr. Beaulieu is so dedicated to his patients. I like that the office is independent from all of the health care networks. You don't have to get tangled up with speaking to a physician on call, who doesn't understand your medical history; you get to speak with directly.

Dr. Beaulieu is a terrific listener and will take whatever time you need to complete a successful visit. He is calm and collected, courteous, and friendly, hence, easy to relate to. He is compassionate and non judgmental, yet when you need help with any medical problem and ask for help, he will give you his candid advise, and assist you to find the correct solution to meet your needs. I highly recommend him, as he is a gem of a doctor. He will go the extra mile for you!

I AGREE I HE IS THE BEST DOCTOR, I HE HAS BEEN MY DOCTOR SINCE COLLEGE . HE PAYS ATTENTION, WONDERFUL PERSON

He is the best doctor... very glad to have found him in Swampscott. Dr. Beaulieu takes the time and concern to really make sure you understand your health. He's very good at communicating complex information and answering questions. His office staff is helpful and friendly. Top scores!
