John D Zubkus

He is super unprofessional but his narcissism makes him seem professional. He killed my mother, my mother was cancer free from melanoma and my mom had just move from New York and she gets checked every six months and the first time she gets checked after 5 years of being cancer free he had told her there’s this “immunotherapy” that will give you a 50/50 chance of the cancer not coming back. SHE WAS CANCER FREE, she said no to it but he scared her into it and immediately IMMEDIATELY after one “immunotherapy treatment” she has full blown cancer. Not only this but she kept going back because that is what he says it entails but instead she was just getting worse. She was in horrific pain and everytime I called to find out why they just kept upping her pain meds to the point where it was the highest they can subscribe. Now at this point I’m in utter shock watching my mom in the most insane pain she was begging to die because it was so insane. They Didn’t tell us to come in didnt tell us anything nothing finally my mom had a immunotherapy AGAIN and we went to the appointment and he comes to me and tells me she is too weak for another treatment. I’m like what the actual f*ck I’ve been non stop calling watching my mom be in horrific pain for weeks and you tell me she’s now too weak? Because of the crap you sold her on in the first place? Anyone can get a degree and take an oath does not mean sh*t when they are using people as lab rats. My mom was no rat she was the sweetest human being on this earth so we don’t even find out from him but when she was admitted into the hospital we find out then her FRKN bones all down her back have been breaking from FRKN tumors growing. Why the hell was her caregiver (me) not told any of this? Was he this stupid the medical industry is clueless to what goes on and I believe we all learned that since Covid. Anyways I asked him After months of trying to contact him AFTER my mom died a week later. His excuse was well HIPPA ... IM LIKE OK SMARTY Pants what about the pills that your pain management team kept upping her dose how is she suppose to tell me anything when she was all high and not to mention we also found out why she couldn’t really get words out anymore because we find out in the hospital after you tell me she’s too weak that it has has spread to her brain. I was so traumatized by the stupidity alone of not just this “doctor” but also the medical industry allowing such negligence to go on. All I know we should have never moved out of New York where they don’t experiment on their patients because they already know how to treat a person, she was fine and cancer free until this psychopath narcissist experimented on her. You took my mother away from me, the only person I had in this world she was so young energetic never tanned a day in her life. She didn’t have skin cancer from the sun I can tell you that.

I have such confidence in Dr Zubkus and his staff(NP Jessica). He has seen me through breast cancer and continues to be there for ANY concern I have. A top notch doctor… a top notch person!!

After brain surgery, Dr. Zubkus became my "go to" Oncologist. He is probably the best Dr. I have ever had with respect to knowledge, bedside manners, truthfulness, etc...I will highly recommend Dr. Zubkus to all those unfortunate enough to have a cancer related illness. 5 stars is a given.

Dr. Zubkus was very condescending during my visit. I was referred to him, and I will never go back. He was very dismissive and rushing. I was treated as unimportant. I guess I was his last appointment of the day. All the office staff, nurses, and lab techs were great, though.

Having the drug Rituximab Injection for my TTP.

He’s the absolute best doctor ever!! He’s been on like 3 magazines!! Everyone go check him out!!!

I was under Dr. Zubkus's care both times I endured a rare form of cervical cancer (stage 2b, then stage 4), beginning in 2009, and he was absolutely wonderful to me and my husband. He was compassionate, concise, totally honest and open, available, AND able. Though he gave me choices, He encouraged me when I was at my lowest point (in a wheelchair during treatment) not to give up. God used him, his team, and the treatments to heal my body! I am fully restored and I have witnessed the weddings of my children, the births of our grandbabies, and I continue leading worship and playing the harp. Dr. Zubkus is an amazing physician and person. My husband and I FULLY recommend him for cancer care and oversight. Exceptional staff, everybody very nice. Dr Zubkus explains process very well, answered all our questions completely. Very personable and totally involved in every step of my care. I would highly recommend anyone who needs an Oncologist to Dr Zubus.

I am from out of town and went with my sisters to our other sister's appointment with Dr. Zubkus . He was very knowledgeable, very focused on her care and her well being and quality of life plans for her. Please understand, this doctor was being compared to my very own Oncologist in Charleston SC, whom I adore. I was very pleased to see and listen as he explained and answered each and everyone of our questions. I have the up most respect for this physician and feel confident with his care.

Dr. Zubkus is fantastic. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my hematology care. He was very patient, compassionate, and thorough when I was super freaked out.

As the other person said, I truly wish I could select A ZERO for the rating on this doctor. Not only could I NEVER endorse a referral to him but I personally will be reporting his absolutely narcissistic and terrible patient care to the TN Medical Board. If you need the kind of care required of an Oncologist, DO YOUR RESEARCH! Just because TN Oncology is the biggest and most prominent DOES NOT mean they are the best! I wish I could rate ZERO for Dr. John Zubkus. NEVER refer him & I am reporting his terrible patient care to the TN Med Board. Wait times are ridiculous (even labs). He doesn't answer questions, offer help unless you are at the end of life. ($/Claims=his ONLY care). If you need Oncology care, DO YOUR RESEARCH! Just because TN Onc is the biggest and most prominent DOES NOT mean they are best! SO MANY OPTIONS, wish I had done MY research before wasting my precious time.

I would give you zero stars if I could, that's probably why you actually have a star. I'm appalled by the DISGUSTING and REPULSIVE treatment of my grandmother. My grandmother is 67 years old and a cancer patient he made it clear that she is too old to recieve cancer testing and claims she has no family history of cancer which is by the way false because several family members have had cancer INCLUDING my grandmother who had breast cancer. This doctor and his nurse practioner(not saying a name) needs to learn how to treat patients and have morality and respect.1 No one should be refused a cancer test EVER, it doesn't matter what age. Definitely will not come back and hopefully no other cancer patient. If you are an older patient like my grandmother, who is a breast cancer survivor, you will be told to not pursue cancer testing because it doesn't matter because he deemed her too old. Very disappointing and disgusting how he treats patients. His nurses were sweet and the only good there...except a certain nurse practitioner who was rude to any and all.
