Dr. Joseph Cary Wood

Short time I have a been a patient, make me feel more than a patient. We chat like we have have been friends for long time.

I was very happy to have been able to get an appointment the same day as I called for one. Not sure my problem has been taken care of but am continuing to take the medication he prescribed. About a week before this appointment, I saw the nurse practitioner. She had a urine sample sent to the lab for a culture. I got the results via email. I was concerned at what the report said. That's why I called to get my appointment. I told the nurse and the doctor, both, about my lab result and asked them to please pull it up to explain to me what the report said. They both said they aren't able to pull up the lab results on their computers. I was a bit disappointed. Why use a lab that doesn't allow the results to be shown on office computers. I have my 6 month checkup with my family doctor next week. I will mention how I feel to her and perhaps this is something my ob/gyn needs to address. In the meantime, I will continue with the meds Dr. Wood gave me.

I was pleasantly surprised at the warm and friendly greeting during my visit. Dr wood and staff were very approachable and put my mind to rest regarding my issues. I am happy I was referred to your office.

Hey Heather! I'd be glad to share my recent experience with you. From check-in to the nurses and also Dr. Wood, all were courteous welcoming, and very professional. I can't say I always look forward to my annual visits due to the nature of the event, but you all make it as pleasant as possible.

I have been to their office several times recently and have been completely satisfied. They get you in on time and treat you as if they really care.

Dr. Wood is a caring doctor who listens and answers his patients questions in an understanding manner. ????

Prompt and precise handling of my CT scan. Very informative on everything she was doing.

My visits with DR Wood and the team at Atlantic Urology are always informative. Very caring practice.

Dr Joseph Wood is a great urologist. He takes time with his patients and listens.

Dr. Wood really cares about his patients and takes the time to listen to them. For six years, I was at a top Virginia hospital and did not seem to care about my kidney stones. I am so glad that I'm back at Atlantic Urology Clinic.

Absolutely love Atlantic Urology! Especially Dr. Wood. 4 family members see him. Started with mom (Carolyn), then me ( April) then my sister and brother in law. He is very thorough, never rushes you and has an awesome bed side manner. Love the rest of the staff too! Definitely recommend!

I would recommend Dr.Wood at Atlantic Urology Clinic he listens to your systems and explains everything to you they also have a good team of workers.

I was extremely satisfied with Dr. Wood, this was the second time I went to see him since 2014. Dr. Wood is always caring, professional and knowledgeable. He doesn't hesitate to give you the proper care needed. His staff is great and facilities are also impeccable.

Fast and simple check-in. Answered all my questions and set me up with a treatment plan while taking the time to explain thoroughly.

I have been seeing Dr. Wood for a couple years now and would HIGHLY recommend him! Always caring and thorough!

Dr. Wood was a nice guy and very helpful in showing me how to inject my injections .I wood recommend him to anyone and Heather is an awesomely nice cool person and so is Michelle .

Dr. Wood performed a cystoscope a few weeks ago. The procedure was painless and he immediately told me afterwards that it did not show any tumors or abnormalities. I was quite skeptical to get this test done at the age of 75; however, it is better to be safe than sorry and Dr. Wood and his staff eliminated the notion to not get this done. I always find Dr. Wood to not only be professional but also caring, personal, and concerned for my health. I can also say that about his entire nursing staff that I have gone to at Atlantic Urology for the last 5 years. Visiting a Urologist was definitely a new experience for me. I really didn't know what to expect. Dr. Wood treated me with professionalism and care. When I say Dr. Wood and all the other employees of the Atlantic Urology Clinic made me feel that I was in safe hands and even made me smile when I left, then you can believe they are the best. My appointment with Dr. Wood seemed excellent to me. He was thorough in his questioning, and very knowledgeable in his replies to my questions. The most important thing to me : he too whatever time was necessary to completely answer me question, and to be sure that I understood. I would recommend him absolutely! I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Wood. He is thorough & carefully explains each step. Sometimes you have a longer wait than you would like, but that's because he is carefully taking care of another patient. It's worth the wait.

Dr. Wood is awesome. He has helped me so much over the years. I would recommend him to anybody having trouble with kidney stones. I was having stones constantly and he found some meds that has worked wonders. He is just an all around great man.

Since then, I have been in a maintenance program consisting of cystoscopies every three months followed by insertions of BCG. My last cystoscopy was Feb 17, 2022 and I am clear of cancer. I have found Dr Wood to be very thorough and caring. I have been in his care for a few years now and I feel its excellent care. He seems to go above and beyond when he can, time is always too short. The other employees are great too!

Dr Wood, as well as his staff and Conway Urology Clinic get all 5 stars from us. Why? They return your call for help. They work you in with little wait. They listen to your concerns and address them. Dr. Wood's diagnoses and treatments are working for us. We are very appreciative and feel lucky to have found such a practice.

Just came back from seeing Dr. Wood and I will say he was OUTSTANDING… made me feel super comfortable!!!!! Definitely recommend.

Dr Wood helped me exactly Zero Percent. I had two major surgeries , one TUR and the other , the UROLIFT. My thought was that the Urolift was done to avoid having to do the the TUR. ??? He never explained why. It has been 2 yeaers and 2 months and I can say I have been worse off after surgery.

Listened to my situation and explained possible procedures well. Follow up visits next month.

My experience with this physician was very concerning to say the least. I was warned by the referring physician that if I went to a Urologist in the Myrtle Beach. SC that more than likely they would go for the biopsy option rather than looking at other alternatives first. The biopsy is of course the most expensive and invasive option. The primary physician told me that all the Urologist in my area belong to one group. Unfortunately, he was correct. Rather than ordering additional PSA test, they ordered the biopsy immediately. He never discussed any other options and used scare tactics to justify the biopsy. Fortunately, I decided to go out of the immediate area and found another Urologist who stated that my initial PSA numbers were normal for someone my age and he ordered more testing. My lack of faith in Dr. Wood's office was further justified by finding my medical records mixed in with another patents information. Do your self a favor and go elsewhere or get a second opinion
