He was disrespectful, dismissive, and my very basic gynecological exam (not related to pregnancy) was awful. He was not gloved, nor did he wash prior to my examination. He told he one med. assistant would join him, but two came without my consent. He never spoke to me with my clothes on. He never looked at my face. None of the staff introduced themselves. He was awkwardly staring at my breasts when asking about lumps. (Not even remotely related to why I was referred to him.) Basic Covid precautions weren't followed by a significant portion of the staff. Doctors were routinely masked, but many MA's removed them to speak on the phone or walk down hallways. No hand sanitizer were available inside outside of the rooms. No lubrication was used on the speculum. When I winced in pain, I was minimized. The MA's present paid zero attention to me. I struggled to walk out of the office because the pain was so uncomfortable . I will never go back. I advise you shouldn't either.

All females, please be cautious, do not see Kanwer Dhami, M.D. After an hour and twenty minute wait Dr. Dhami rushed me through an appt which lasted 8-minutes. He talked at me in a Narcissistic manner, a “All you patients are an annoyance” attitude with a base assumption we all have a 6th grade level of comprehension. (I have two PhD’s). Despite an extreme situation, he did not order labs. His demeanor felt sexist, dismissive and frankly, I could feel his eye rolling if I dared to inquire on my specific issue beyond what he chose to tell me in his rushed, rote lecture. He dehumanized me, I felt I was to be robotic, shut up and say, “You’re the doctor, make decisions for me.” It may be true that he should retire, he’s burned out, resents insurance reimbursement, patients, the “gig”. Then quit. His phone staff told me he does not look at phone messages, does not speak to patients by phone, would not return a call, would not send for lab work to Quest regardless of urgency and pain, big issues. He demands patients come in person for what in my three experiences was a type of degrading trauma. His time is more precious than yours. I never waited less than an hour and never had more than a 12-minute lecture on options for my situation. When a local physician phoned him to ask about getting labs due to my months of issue, Dr. Dhami called me a name I wont repeat here and hung up on my ethical and concerned doctor. I was given an urgent appointment with a different OBGYN, different practice. The new OBGYN was in shock that I had no bloodwork. He was empathic, professional, obviously loves his work, he listened, extremely concerned about the neglect I'd experienced as my situation may be cancer. Only the surgery procedure will reveal this critical unknown. I was placed on *STAT* surgery for the next day! Bloodwork, full pap exam and surgery next day! Please know I wrote this for women as we must advocate for ourselves and share what we experience to support one another though we may never meet.

The office is nice and clean, the medical staff are also nice and friendly. However, I would not recommend you this Ob. He is very unprofessional and does not care about his patient and their birthing experience! He talks really fast and rushes everything. Every time I have a question he doesn’t answer me clearly and just pushes it aside. Find another Ob who is compassionate in helping you get the birth you want and is willing to listen to you because this dr is not!

Do not go to Dr. Dhami, if you want a VBAC. He does not care about his patient or what they want in their birth goals. Especially if you want a VBAC, don’t go to him. He will tell you that you can try for a VBAC but if you don’t have the baby by 40 weeks then it’s gonna be a C section. He will make the VBAC sound more risky then a Csection and give you all these reasons why he recommends you to have a Csection without giving you a choice. He literally told my husband and I that I can try for a VBAC but it’s gonna lead to a C section and that there’s no other options for me because I had a C section before. Dr. Dhami compare me to statistic saying that if I didn’t dilate within a a few hours m then I needed to go for a csection. I was so upset and felt so hopeless. How can a doctor give you a timeframe to dilate! On the day of my labor, I was given small dosage of pitocin to help induce my labor around 11am and then the midwife broke my water around 3 pm because I was at 3 cm. After 1-2 hr laters the nurse checked me and said I was at 4 cm. By 7:30 pm Dr. Dhami came to check up on me and said I was still at 4 cm and that’s when he set a time frame on me. He said if I don’t dilate more in a few hours by 10pm then I need to go in for a C section because a VBAC isn’t going to happen for me. He was so pushy and unprofessional each time he talked to me! I felt as if this doctor had already made up his decision to put me on his c section list following 10 other women! ( during the operation room, i overheard the the anesthesia mention to the nurse that they’ve already done 9 C section that day!) Dr Dhami made me felt as if I didn’t have a choice for my VBAC! The Ob, midwife and the nurses that were there taking care of me before his shift started were all so supportive in helping me throughout the day for a VBAC. They all told me that I was going to have a successful VBAC and the labor takes time so don’t give up. They also said that I was a good candidate for a VBAC, but when their shift ended and there were new nurses, Dr. Dhami came to my room and that’s when everything went downhill. My husband and I tried asking the doctor to wait a little longer for me to see if I’ll dilate more but he would not wait. We tried asking for other options and advice from other Ob to see if there were some light in the tunnel for a VBAC but learned that he was the only OB on duty that night. There was the charge nurse that came to talked to me and gave me her opinions but it felt like she sided with him. The charge nurse told me if we decide not to have a c section then Dr. Dhami would order them to discontinue the Pitocin and let me wait in my room. When she said Dr. Dhami would cancel the Pitocin and just let me stay in the room, it made me felt hopeless as if they are not going to help me at all just because I wanted a VBAC so badly. My husband and I felt so helpless without no support for a VBAC we decided for the c section. I am happy that my baby is born healthy, however I am sad, mad and depress of how this doctor destroyed my experience. Save yourself from this doctor! He does not care for his patient. I am truly sadden from this experience and regret my decision. I wish I could go back and said no to the c section. Now I have to pray and hope that I can be able to bear 2 more children for my future. Since my body has gone through 2 C sections, I know this puts an increase health risk to my body. So save yourself from this doctor.
